Chivalry alternative suggestion

Change the King's Ransom and Chivalry's Defence requirement to 45 instead of 65 to solve the zerker issue and by buffing it to 20% Defence, 18% Strength, and 18% Attack. Alongside that add a new intermediate quest for 1 defence pures, that once completed rewards the player with the ability to combine Steel Skin, Ultimate Strength and Incredible Reflexes into one prayer and removes the 3 existing options while increasing the overall max hit by 1-2 with a simple % bonus and the new prayer requirement to use it is now 35/36, (Adds room to the prayer interface to add new and additional prayers in the future) (of course make the defence and prayer xp rewards from King's Ransom optional here on out and give the new 1 def prayer combination quest unlock prayer xp rewards optional as well)

What if Chivalry wasn't a reward from King's Ransom, but a reward from Holy Grail? What do people think about that?

True, though Chivalry isn't used too much, is it? By the time you do King's Ransom, you're probably 70 Prayer or close to it, so would probably be using Piety by that point.

I guess then my preference would be something like:

• 1 Def pures: A miniquest after Merlin's Crystal that rewards a new Prayer "Gallantry"/"Bravery" (or some other name) that does what you said i.e. Steel Skin + Ultimate Strength + Incredible Reflexes + extra
• Zerkers: A miniquest after Holy Grail that requires 45 Def and rewards Chivalry, rather than it coming from King's Ransom

Mostly because personally, I'd prefer Chivalry sitting as its own reward, rather than change the requirements of King's Ransom, which makes Piety easier to obtain.

they just should force update that scroll because otherwise the undead pirates are just dead content even before the release

Yes, adding the prayer as a reward behind an existing quest with prayer XP is a reasonable solution going forward.. but doesn't work for existing accounts

It would not change how easy it is to obtain Piety, you would still need 70 Defence and Prayer to use it

The aim is to have the unlocks set for a specific bracket not just an easy scroll to unlock chivalry for everyone, ruins the grind and intricate way RS has been done.

Fair enough. Though it still lowers the requirements of the King's Ransom quest. Which feels odd, at least to me.

Chivalry already comes from Knight Waves Training Grounds. Whilst that's not technically a minigame, it's at least some kind of activity.

Maybe the activity can be reworked so that you can do part of it at an earlier stage, and thus gain access to Chivalry (but not Piety) earlier?

It does lower the defence requirement, which is almost weird, on the other hand it keeps the prayer level requirement for chivalry, and piety's requirements are left untouched, it is hard to take chivalry from this quest and put it into another quest but it is even harder to do what I have done, I think if a developer can make a quest that suites the game and puts it at a nice unlock level then why not

My last thoughts on making Chivalry accesible to Zerker builds but not 1 Def was make it come from its own quest tied to the storyline where 45 def is the req and then make a 1 defence prayer that is all in one, I did like the name suggestions your presented @unkempt falcon

Ye it could be tied to its own quest that require 40 def(my opinion) but that quest most likely require Holy Grail, so Holy Grail rewards must change to optional so existing zerkers that are built with different quests and have played thousands of hours doesnt get affected by it.
