why cant castle wars or soul wars just allow you to use capes or helmets? seems very dumb

it's not like either of those minigames need more dps from being able to equip better capes (and helmets in castle wars case, but cwars also has the cwars bracelet)

There are many extremely obvious ways that could be implemented to determine who's on what team, that I feel don't need explaining lol.

And yes, these mini games would be much better if you can wear all your gear. In castle wars mid levels could use barrows set effects, and soul wars you can use and show off your infernal cape to try and go for the absolute max hits in the game

People do care. It's always put me off from those mini games, especially castle wars when I was a mid level and liked using dharoks

In a game where people care a lot about gear they have earned and grinded for, it's stupid not to allow people to use it all for basically no reason

The helm slot, I could understand. But the cape slot seems completely expendable.

They could allow helms in Castle Wars by using the jaw slot like they do in Soul Wars for the small, faint, highlight, removing the iconic hood.

Using something else like a bright circle or something would be far more visual clutter and probably make things worse.

If they don't allow the cape slot, imo they should just give the castle wars cape the damage bonuses of inferno cape, mage cape and assembler, so people feel like they can still go for max hits

It's a no Brainer suggestion that would make the mini game more enjoyable and is a low effort improvement. But I guess because it was just how osrs has always been, there will be very simple minded people who just cling onto the past and hate change. If it was like this at the start you wouldn't be calling for capes and headslots to be removed lol

Thats because Hardly anyone cares about castle wars as is anyway. If they removed it tomorow it wouldn't even effect the game. If they want to make improvements to castlewars enjoyment, they should just do so without polling, especially if it's a no Brainer fix like this. Then they can poll actual serious changes to the mini game if they want to seriously improve it

since its a 2004 minigame, i think youd be surprised with the work required to change anything. Look at BA, one change to poison bricked BA for months, and chaning how interfaces stacked and queued changed BA metta significantly ever since

In my opinion the cape and hood should remain but be a cosmetic override.

That might introduce complications with knowing what gear someone is in though and how to best combat them...

Like the other guy said, I have a feeling Jagex is going to reply with some of these suggestions being significant engine work or something
