#Make leagues a permanent game mode

I understand your point. I would rather just play leagues than a private 3rd party server as I like jagex. I wouldn't even mind if they didn't update leagues. I just love the faster pace and being able to accomplish things in a month rather than a year.
100% support.
Even if it meant no points are gained in the main game, a good league is fun enough to play more than 1 build
A permanent league would kind of kill the hype behind the annual leagues.
It being temporary mode of 8-10 weeks and incorporating all the new updates and relics is what makes it exciting
Also I wouldn't want it to become a new player type that they have to cater changes and updates for
I would rather they improve the slow and annoying parts of the main game so that people with less time can still make meaningful progress and not get left behind
Only reason I would somewhat support it is because we have speed running and dmm worlds which are basically left empty and unused.
A few Leagues worlds would atleast have a few thousand on it
Permanent leagues would die out rapidly, the hype around leagues is everyone and their friends all rushing to make the build they want, the slow burn enjoyment of the main game is progress feels fantastic because of the effort. Having a permanent leagues world would kill the hype for seasonal leagues and it'd have an extremely small playerbase of "ironmen who don't want to put the time in to be actual ironmen"
I'm not even talking about just xp rates being buffed just because. It's things like adding mini games like gotr so people enjoy their time runecrafting, or the agility rework where run drain and recovery work better
Or having better designed low - mid game bosses so people don't feel they miss out a lot by not being raids ready
It single handedly made me quit fresh start worlds.
I know how to get other teleport methods but waiting 15 mins to run again was actually enough to make me quit
Bottom line the peak player count came from leagues, people enjoy it and it allows veteran players to introduce new players to the game. New players are going to quit with the main game grind. WoW has 2.2 million players, osrs just hit an all time high of 200k because of leagues 4
i think lot of leauges appeal is novelty. look at dmm perm world its dead. also what others said dividing up playerbase
this was my first leauge and i loved the shit out of it however i still dont think it should be perma
well tbh i have no issues with them making it perma like dmm
i just dont think it would be active
let the player base divide. Theres no need to reclick to pickpocket or to do 50000000 laps for a level of agility (exhagerated obviously). If leagues doesn't stay perm then introduce new mechanics to main game like the agility boots for passive xp or the automatic repickpocket. I love dmm and (I) think it would be a great addition to osrs
Thank you all for your feedback on both keeping it and keeping it time limited
but would u enjoy dmm/leauges if there was noone playing it?
Great points have been brought up from both perspectives
Dmm no, leagues yes
I mostly do activites by myself anyway and leagues is ironman mode so it makes sense
just my experince this leauge but i had to do alot of team content as well
had to do barbarin assault needed teams for cms
team for temp/wt was really nice
True i see your point
I highly dislike that we have to do quest for a temp gamemode though
alot of ppl brought that up
personally i think its fine
only have to do some quests
I don't want to do 3 quests to get into tombs ya know?
most of them u finish b4 t8
ye thats fair but i really liked the xp and planning around it
quests made early game alot better for me
think spirits of elid got me like 1-52 prayer
waterfall was insane to
nope its actually not i thought that to
I would be curious to see what the main population thinks about it
heard people have similar sentiment that questing sucks
either way idk if leauges really bring ppl back for the long term
ik some new players but in general its probaly retruning players
that just quit again after
I can't tag a url but look up mmo - population
osrs is #14 at 330k daily
WoW classic is #1 at 2.52M
I'm not batting for WoW I love osrs much more but what they are doing is obviously working more than jagex's plan of keeping it grindy
Grindy is the whole point of OSRS
Asking them to change that to attract a more casual userbase means it loses its uniqueness and dies in a sea of wow clones
Ik, look at seplchure, one of the best content in the game, meanwhile almost novone does it.. people just play this game becuse of xp and afk and items
:8
Damn, thats why i alwyas find empty worlds
You know they're instanced after so many players right
I see people at Sep constantly
Also it's a single training method for a single skill in a high end area, spread across 100 worlds
It's not gonna have 1000 people per world doing it
But it's quite successful and everyone I know who has done it loves it
I mean, ardounge agility course is more high end area
Selpchure is easy to get into
Well i guess it depends
But i see alot of people on ardounge for example
Vs selpchure
auto pickpocket unless you fail should be a thing i agree
imagine when you're woodcutting you had to reclick the tree every time you chopped a log
anyone can jump into it but they wont be getting good xp rates without practice
most ppl wont even put time to getting 1 floor 5 completion on time
