Yeah thats a big no from me dawg. You can guarentee poison/venom hits incombat and such. Besides youre not doing anything with potions or herbs at that point. poison on weapons is there until you choose to remove it with a cleaning cloth.

i don't think the lack of QoL on poisoned weapons, emerald bolts, etc. can be justified by "just use serp helm and blowpipe bro"
i think the green hitsplat is a better solution, too

i feel like there's been a misunderstanding here: the suggestion is not to grant herblore exp when applying poison to a weapon, it's to grant (single-digit) herblore exp when your attack successfully inflicts poison to a target that is not already poisoned
think of it like changing the magic exp of teleblock so you know if you splashed or not
or maybe there hasn't been a misunderstanding and it's an issue of how it doesn't make sense to gain herb exp from non-potion related activity

that is exactly how i interpreted it. and that is what i disagree with entirely. if you want to know your target has been poisoned, we could arguably just make something that does that.

at any rate, the underlying issue is that it's very difficult to tell if you inflicted poison and i'll take any solution to that
green hitsplat, visible poison indicator on the healthbar, anything like that
if it's possible to make a different hitsplat for max hit, it shouldn't be too much of a stretch
and i understand the reasons for not wanting it, but the reasoning behind the herb xp drop is because it would provide an intuitive way to see how severe the poison is
