#Make Zealot Robes work on sacrificing Bonemeal at EctoFuntus

Bro how would that work. “The bone’s magically go through the femur unbreaker on the way out”

# azure grove Really not that different to sacrificing bones at altars… 🤔

albeit at a slow rate, its boosted xp for the dbones used with a lower requirement to hit. At best their similarities end at both altars and the ectofunctus using bones. It's also kind of weird to think about of just adding something for the sake of adding it when usually zealot robes and the ectofunctus don't intersect in either prayer training or slayer qol. It's just a "Do it because I thought of the idea" kind of thing ya know?

And, frankly, since the zealot robes are sourced from Morytania, it seems to me that the Ectofuntus has more justification than other prayer methods (crystallised fossils; bird eggs; Camdizaal fish) to synergise with the robes.

#

But I also don’t see any reason why those other methods I listed shouldn’t also work with the zealot robes. 🤔

Well thematically if you were using these to train prayer by honoring the dead, crushing the bones is a bit of a slap in the face of that dead gabagool you just killed. Ectofunctus offers ecto tokens which (albeit small) offers something extra on top of the extra xp rates. Thing is, the ectofunctus is slow and tedious. I can only assume that compared to the "altars" it was meant to be worse for rates due to its tedium, designed to be worse but gives it a purpose (we call those "side grades").

Zealot robes coming from Morytania doesn't really matter because Morytania is just a place, not necessarily content where its inclusion would make sense. An example of such would be hallowed sepulcher's strange old lockpick being locked behind something that would challenge the average player to be rewarded with an item that speeds up barrows. The difference being a qol for a combat encounter that has multiple purposes for many accounts (Incomplete items on Irons, Col.Log / GP on Mains), and the other being an odd addition due to circumstance. TLDR: They wouldn't interact unless you forced them too, since the grind would most likely be done at a point where the ectofunctus is kind of moot apart from the occasional recharge.
Plus, they don't even work on the shade remains, the content where it comes from, so the nuance of how it works most likely went through its most probable application (minus the fact its just worse to get over just training prayer).

(Also, grinding bones is a pretty normal and respectful method of burying bones—see cremation)

Bro you get cremated when no one wants to see your body

disrespect 100 percent

The point is that the robes seem to only affect one training method for some arbitrary reason. It’s like if the lumberjack set only gave increased XP when chopping the classic trees from normal to magic, and excluded all others. 🤷‍♂️

#

It’s easy to get around economic issues like increased ecto tokens or bird nests just by making the altars give no item rewards when the material isn’t consumed. 🤔

#

Not that increased ecto tokens should be any concern. It’s pretty easy to get a million charges on one’s bonecrusher just by doing Robin’s dailies. 😅

not even about the economy tho. It's also fundamentally different because of its bone saving properties instead of rewarding straight xp. It's why it isn't that worth to go for it outside of collection log or post 99 xp. This isn't about the devaluing of anything, this isn't about it not aligning with other sets. It's just a "why" because these benefits only exist within the sole purpose of doing so just to make a point, and doesn't necessarily make sense because it's non-traditional with upsides that should be solidified.

I wouldn't expect it to work on a non-altar because it's not an altar and these are fulminated bones. It's about the nuance of something that makes the decision to do something and its purpose for being good game design.

You can't pray at it? sorry, traditional altar.

azure grove
#

You go into a temple and sacrifice bones on it. What else would it be? 😛

shut nexus
#

No restoration effect.

azure grove
#

Well what about the shrine at the woodcutting guild then? You sacrifice bird eggs there, train prayer, and restore your prayer points. 😛

shut nexus
#

It's an altar.

#

If I'm not mistaken it doesn't boost bones even if they were used there, and just have the purpose of sacrificing god eggs.

#

Also what's with the emoji punctuation

#

You some kind of narc? This code for something? lol

This got... interesting. But like, you could just convert the 5% chance to not consume into 5% boosted xp (or like 2.5% to bring in line with other boosting sets) if you're really worried about it.

I don't think making purely thematic arguments has a good place here, there are plenty of thematic fails in osrs
