give some support to your argument?
because its stupid
I want flasks but at the same time I dont want flasks.
just devalues alot of the current meta
much easier to do content when u have 50% more pots in your inv
maybe one day we will work up to 6 dose pots
we got divine pots/imbued heart i just dont think community has reached the point of accepting that much powercreep for pots yet
No. It does devalue the current meta and tanking is as easy as ever. The last thing we need is the pkers heading over to reddit crying that they can't secure a kill because of flasks. Hell, the 14% of the 'spite voters' already think voidwaker is OP and haven't even had it released yet
If people vote for 50% special it's going to be better than Korasi. Powerful melee weapons with magic damage specials are not what PvP needs. Did you ever PK in Pre-EoC?
Yes. it was amazing fun. I see your concern, but if you've been around since I started contributing here, imo the wilderness is not meant to be fair.
Why do we need 6 dose potions though? What issue does it solve? we already have alot of things where people use very few food and potions.
Also youre taking liberties with "ash approved" on that one chief. he said "that could be interesting for players to balance along with imp boxes."
Yeah, like, flasks freely available wouldnt ever pass a poll but I'm thinking more along the lines of what if we could own 1-2 flasks that don't break, so we had 1-2 potion that were 6 doses instead of the whole inv.
That feels more fun to play around than "here heres 50% more inventory"
i dont think you can say they woudlnt pass. alot of poeple vote for making the game easier. But flasks inherantly seem rather pointless and unnecessary. its a massive change that trivialises alot of stuff even more. which is exactly what it did in RS3
It's an investment into extra supplies while limiting the loot potential, since the flasks themselves are too valuable to litter. Having to low-ball the limit since people will immediately call it op, having 50% extra pots in an inventory
its just not needed
like roq said barely any content in the game actually requires u to use a shit ton of food if ur somewhat decent
how bout u just improve ur skills instead of relying on more brew doses
RS3 has a much more diverse potion system that yields far stronger buffs than osrs, but also more variety, which thins the potency of the system. Osrs on the other hand, is narrow enough that each sip is valuable
why do we want to be like rs3?
why cant we be our own game
rs3 has mtx
should we have it too?
honestly each sip isnt even that valuable
i legit do all of toa rooms without even sipping a brew dose in 8 man 400s
and i have 5 full brews
L
So you voted against soul wars?
hell im trying to use the fkin brews
no i didnt vote in that poll
but if icould i wouldve voted no
because old nostalgic minigames
always end up dead
and its a waste of dev time
You voted against torva? And nex?
no because that was the only pvm content we had in 2 yrs
but if it was a choice between nex and something else
id choose the other oss
also nex != minigame
its a fkin boss
always will be somewhat active if it drops bis items
cant compare that to soul wars lol
just looking at castle wars and shit shouldve been enough reason to not add soul wars or waste time on it
So we should delete trouble brewing, since no one plays it?
read
"waste of dev time"
its a waste of dev time to delete a minigame that already exists just as much as it is to create a minigame that will likely be dead 2 days in
Things are added as an option, whether or not they're popular depends not only on if they're fun, but if the rewards are valuable enough
i mean it was obvious how soul wars would turn out
a nostalgic minigame always ends up dead
and with rewards that it has
means people will abuse it
which they do
Soul wars is an alternative to NMZ for imbues, as well as decent combat supplies. It's an option for people who don't care to do nmz
that has nothing to do with what i just said
And this suggestion is an option to create a utility item that holds slightly more sips, for when you want to maximize supplies on trips where banking is not viable
bruh
u got an entire cc
ingame
abusing thta shit
l0l
theres no way ur arguing against me
The flasks are untradable, meaning minimum requirements of SotE, and you're discouraged from dying, or else it costs shards to replace them
as if sote is hard
u got mid game ironmen rushing it lol
grandmaster quest
but has lvl 70 reqs
lvl 70
isnt even 1m xp btw
LOL
So say these do get added, and you could give a gp value to crystal shards, how much is 2 sips of a potion worth at, say, dks
Where your trip is limited by prayer pots (ignoring flicking)
Regardless, the overall limiting factor for most (who aren't cracked/max gear/bots) is prayer drain
Two sips of prayer gives about 10 or 15 minutes praying against prime/supreme?
Let's pick a less mechanical aspect. Anti fire pots, extended last 10 min each sip
For 100k risk each, you get to bring 2 more sips of whatever brew. And for each flask, you need to obtain a seed
Far more involved than rs3's XL chug jugs
People I've talked about flasks in osrs did really enjoy the idea of having 1-2 untradeable flasks we put extra 2 doses in over the "hey heres free 50% more potion space"
Worth considering for the next elven quest
Negative. This is absolutely an unnecessary update and I'm glad Roq already addressed it above.
Seems like you missed the part "limited to 1-2 vials per player"
Thats the part that got people thinking.
roq mentioned that in rs3, 6 dose potions trivialize most areas, but that can be more attributed to the actual potions themselves, they're far stronger than what we have in osrs. There's one that's basically salts, like an overload++. Closest thing we have is divines, which obviously aren't going to be accepted in the flask
Consider if the seed was as rare as an armor seed, and untradable
flasks as they are in rs3 should never be in the game and would most definitely not pass a poll
but if flasks were items like rune pouch, where you can only have 1 in your account so you get a 50% boost for ONE potion ended up being interesting to think about
single 6 dose stam v 2 4 dose stam at cox for example
The flasks are an extra risk vs reward, more supplies at the cost of a permanent slot, plus you risk losing shards on death. If convenience wasn't the issue, then why did they add spell sacks so pkers didn't have to risk rune pouch? And why are they conveniently only spells that pkers use
no. You must have missed his post. Respectfully, just leave it dead man
pkers are the only ones who risk rune pouch. if you lost ir on PvM too id understand complaints there
They don't bring rune pouch though, they've been catered to where most of the blighted items are cheaper than their normal equivalents
🤣 😂
Besides, if you try to bring these flasks into wilderness, not only does it shatter when you die, you lose the untradable item past 20 wildy
Idk even as another someone who sips like a shit tons of brews for the grind, 50% more sips will make sara brews jump from 64 hp vs manta (+42 hp / +200% more), over into 16x6= 96 (+72 hp / +330% more edge)
It just seems like a odd amount to have and although I was quite partial to prayer rejuvenation potions (healing over time) and kinda liked the interesting crystal flask combos as concepts. (Prayer + prayer rejuvenation potions. Adrenaline overloads, etc).
The idea of undegrading potion flasks just kinda sounds like a pain in the ass to refill. If you can't stock 100s of them you'll have to manually reload for 2 pitiful doses.
If you can, it just becomes a wallet war of who can afford a full inv of say. 28 x 4m nondegradable flasks or just longer camping. 50% more healing in a slot and making bottlenecked brews go 64 to 96 hp a slot vs 22 hp anglers is just going to make the food vs sara brew gap bigger.
And there really isn't that much of a good constant way to farm nests to feed supplies either.
On one hand brew stat draining is annoying enough I'm starting to go from hate to miss on overloads.
But on the other hand, overloads made brews pretty much a must have with no downsides everywhere but cost. and I'd really like a higher healing or farmable food to be more competitive with 4-6 slot brews rather than a yellow water based economy and doing another -50m on them.
im against the idea purely because having 50% more food would actually be ridiculous. at 99 hp that is basically an extra 32hp per invent slot.
it could potentially be an interesting idea if used for the stat boosting potions like stamina's/Combat potions/ new toa potion that brings stats back up.
but until we actually have content that requires more supplies , this would just be making it too easy. we already have people doing 20-40 GWD kill trips , do we really want to make it easier?
Ok, so let's say we scrap the 6 dose idea, if you were to create a crystal vial, sung from a seed that you can only get from besting priffinidas guards, what should it do?
There is better gear made from better supplies, higher tier spells, more specialized tools more satisfying foods. What do you get when you upgrade the mundane glass vials into better quality ones?
only thing that would potentially be accepted is a lvl 99 divine potion that works like an overload
combine TOA potion + divine super combat + bastion + battle mage. make sipping the potion cost you 30hp (10hp per divine pot) & have it boost your stats to normal divine potion range
i think it will be fine if you are only allowed to own one of them it won't really devalue anything if you simply have a single flask that you can fill with a specific potion to hold more doses at the expense of being indispensable , untradable and maybe harder to get
maybe something like a rune poach but for potion doses
Serious suggestions only, lol. Having more sips doesn't make you stronger, only allows more inventory
how is that not serious?
so with my suggestion you create a use for:
-
PvPers who can use this as a prepot & potentially not have to suffer from lack of dps pots late in a fight
-
Would be a useful potion for NEX where people brew down often but need offensive stats for range & melee
-
creates actual demand for battlemage potions which are dead content, boosting CG profitabiltiy for people who level herblore
-
potentially useful for TOB prepot for those with no heart , also would be good for nylo room.
-
potentially useful prepot for TOA baba start (popular for high invos)
-
doesn't devalue raid overloads since the mage and range only get boosted by 4 & 12 still.
-
has a downside as it will cost you 30% of your hp to repot it , so if the entire flask is used for content it will cost 120hp & 1 invent space
imo thats a lot more of a 'serious suggestion' than what you intially said
My suggestion was to add a late game, untradable, upgraded supply container, with the downside of taking an inventory slot and breaking on death, compromising to limiting it to one per person. You're suggesting RS3's Elder Overload
yes but your suggestion didnt even consider the downside of giving players 50% more hp
people don't die enough for it to be an issue and 1 invent slot for 32hp isn't going to impact you anywhere. you would just save the brew for last phase of anything and refill at bank
but w/e
also just checked what that elder overload is...completely different to what i proposed in both strength and duration. mine is more in line with a weakend overload
There's a reason overloads are restricted to raids, NMZ
the ones in raids and nmz boost all stats to like 125. ofcourse thats busted
people already prepot the toa potion for nex/pvp and use non divine potions anyway. so if you really want suggestions for what comes next...thats it
something that rewards 99 herblore and actually changes the way people play
not just 50% more of a potion with the minor drawback of invent space
Changes the way people play
Careful, people don't like that here
If the problem that everyone has with flasks is the issue with Sara brews, then restrict it to boost/restore potions, just like the lunar spells
