they have such high mitochondrial counts in their cells that they are able to burn fat directly with little need for sugars

this is one of the reasons why they can go for up to 9 days running in the cold

Heard a cat crying for the past hour very faint and quiet but definitely could hear it... but it's 2:30am, went outside anyway with my newborn baby in my arms looking for the source of this crying... as I got closer I realised it was a kitten stuck in a car, in the Engine area of the car... could see it through the wheel arch through a small gap... couldn't figure out how to get to it, then another neighbour, a woman, comes out also in her pyjamas and we're both there trying to coerce this kitten out of someone's car engine, with food I took down from my apartment... anyway, the other lady put the cat food on her hand and got the kitten close enough to get through the hole and then she wrapped it in her dressing gown and fed it the rest of the food.

Tldr, saved a kitten from a car engine at 2:30am whilst also trying to comfort my newborn baby lmao. What an absolute mess

I saw a potentially lost cat yesterday, and I want to make a report, but it asks for how to describe the cat's coat type/length/etc, and I have no idea what's considered to be what type. I'm going to post some photos, and would appreciate any guidance on the descriptors. (As far as I'm concerned, aside from color, every cat is "wonderful").

The found pet form asks about type of coat; length of hair; breed. Any input on what I would put?

Quite possible, hadn't considered but now that you mention it, I'd consider its behavior to be almost dog-like, which I do associate with that breed.

he's 17 pounds, my girlfriend has never had a cat before and he had successfully trained her to overfeed him, and he was lovin it, but i convinced her to let me handle the feeding, so he'll start becoming a smaller goodboy soon 🙂 i'm following the advice his vet gave her on caloric intake

the vet said 9-12 pounds is goal weight ❤️
