Old but such a guilty criminal haha. Our dog gets into the trash all the time too. Think we got him as a shelter dog and he just bolts right through. Aussie, he's my sister's and he's an older rescue

probably about 10 years old we think

old owners mostly fed him tacobell

she got the guy down from 55lbs to 25

but god is he stupid and food motivated

Cody is a literal hall monitor and will scream at anyone that is breaking his rules

the cat isn't allowed to touch the top of the kiddy gate that blocks the dog from getting into the other half of the house

but if the cat unscrews part of the support piece holding it in place or squeezes through the bars? totally allowed

Haha, sounds like our dog. He's a 75% maltese 25% yorkie(?) shelter mix looking one. This is a google image of the mix. But it looked pretty much identical to how our dog looked as a pup.

He will tunnel through all the trash and eat it if you let him. And will growl and tug a war over grease napkins they used to soak up burger grease. Eat unhealthy paper and all.

We did joke that he was basically a "giant rat in a fluffy white dog body" in a affectionate way lol. He would steal food off tables and jump up chairs. He would steal anything dropped. You had to keep him from stealing/eating unedible objects like chapsticks / crayons / hot wheel cars. He had the diet of a us marine joke lmao.

He's slowing down a bit with age but our last dog was super peaceful. This one sounds a LOOT like yours. Crack addict energy with food motivated energy and trash addiction. We hold ours off with steel trash cans. But eating plastic. We are lucky he is not big enough for that.
