Hmm, for slayer, you probably want to wait until 100 combat. After that, a common slayer setup goes like this:
1- Bloodbark with barrage/burst spells and a staff capable of autocasting them. This should be relatively cheap and highly effective, providing your fastest and most rewarding slayer tasks
2- A dwarven autocannon to accelerate many tasks. It's a bit expensive, but slayer experience is worth it.
3- Proselyte + bonecrusher necklace for maximizing prayer, when you want to do a task as AFK as possible.
4- Avoid using melee and ranged whenever possible for slayer tasks, but if you must, use an abyssal whip and a hunter's sunlight crossbow

An amulet of strength is 12 strength. That's 3 or 4 max hits depending on your build
(it's more than an amulet of fury)
The reason, in brief, is that getting 36% cheaper prayer doesn't mean you make 36% more money
It means your prayer potions are 36% cheaper on average, and as you make more and more money, the cost of your prayer potions is a smaller and smaller portion of the calculus (total money per hour = value of drops in an hour - value of supplies spent per hour)
In order to calculate whether an increased prayer bonus is more money per hour than additional strength would get you, you can do the following:
1- Have gearscape calculate optimal damage for you against a given enemy, with your bank and stats provided.
2- Take the TTK that build has and divide 3600 by it to roughly guess how many enemies you would kill per hour.
3- Check the wiki for expected value of each kill. Multiply that by the number of expected kills per hour.
4- Subtract your supply cost. This is dependent on which supplies you use and how. You may have to actually go and kill the enemy to be more sure what supplies you'd use.
5- Once you have your money per hour, go back to gearscape and swap one strength piece for one prayer piece and redo the calculations from step 2.
You will find that generally speaking, prayer bonus helps you relax and kill enemies in a slower, more chill manner. However, it tends to result in less GP per hour since the value of drops gained from additional strength outweighs the savings in supplies gained from additional prayer bonus

My personal recommendation is for you to try every slayer task once or twice, and block the ones that are both high weight and are not fun to do
If you want a lot of points, the best thing you can do is machzna boosting, rather than blocking tasks with a high level slayer
