- would still be really good if the bank chest wasnt there because it's also right next to charter ships and a furnace
- Compare it to other stuff like Drakan’s medallion and see how Jagex specifically put it further from a bank

I feel like it's counter productive to the issues TOA has and doesn't add to the raid.
ToA had problems due to drops being too frequent (which we already discussed at length about it previously) and having a solo toa with 8 people drop rates is pretty nuts and will scuff the drop rates even more.
It also lets people do much easier invos but still get much higher drop rate without making the raid "harder" with invocations. It's boring and messes with drop rates that are already scuffed.
previously cox would just have alts to enter the raid and leave, and if it was worth it to do it for toa, we'd already see that happening
the difference is you cant just prep more supplies in toa

I think toa just doesnt work like that currently which is why they dont do that.

The whole iron boosting thing
it would do the opposite because p2 phases are capped so if ur soloing, ur doing more phases for no gain
the iron boosting thing wasnt because the purple chance is too high, it was because points were effectively getting traded
and it's already possible to do this in toa with alts or friends but we see practically no one doing it outside of challenge runs or carries for good reason
and doing easier invos but more hp isn't actually better because purple chance scales off of invocation, in the way that it makes each dmg worth more in higher invos, so why would u scale it to be longer when u can just run the raid back
i think you'd just run out of supplies unless u had alts in there trading u

I don't think it works for ToA does it? everyone has their own roll and someone leaving doesn't increase your chance of a purple. That's why the purple rates go up so much with more players since each player is another roll for purp.
Maybe you'll run out of supplies, maybe you'll be fine. Aside from p2 warden you could probably take 0 damage the whole raid.
cox scaling purple rates were not nerfed, only the function of being able to funnel points to other players was
toa does have points, effectively the same mechanic as cox
purple rates go up with players because it's more hp and hp = points (and there's mvp specific stuff but i dont know too much about that)
you could take 0 dmg but that would require intense flicking, certain mechanics really drain you when scaled such as needing to last row way longer, longer p2 (again, pts capped here up to 3 phases), kephri dungs, baba boulders (though they could just keep it to solo scale), p1 big balls
wouldn't really be op or even optimal
sure you'd get higher purple rates per raid but you forget the cost of the effort and time required, so you have to ask is it even better than doing it normally

To be clear, I'm not saying boosting increased the base level of purple drop rates. I'm saying an individual's chance was increased by boosting which is what will happen to TOA if Tassili's suggestion is implemented.
Boosting points is seen as a bad thing (to Jagex) which is why it was nerfed in CoX. Boosting increased the chance of an individual getting a purple by transferring points over.

i think the only example of jagex making an infinite points mistake is probably guardians
people do run 1+1 TOA currently sometimes, but it's mostly because you can use the alt as a potion fridge
but thats so terrible most people don't even know about it

but if people dont know on guardians each time they shove you back if you try to walk past them

I just did the math, and with their changes, addy dart tips are more AFK, more exp/hr than rubium smithing, and you actually profit instead of spending millions to do it. No world in which this is a “viable low intensity method” as jagex says

No, it also isn't worth it because the purple chance in deathless runs just isn't enough to offset the naturally longer raids. It is dead even.
And then when you add in new mechanics that make it easier to do, it ends being worse.
Avernic might be rarer, but scythe being more common offsets it. Bigger issue is Sang, Rapier, Justi are all worth far less in the big 2026.
It's also just folks being lazy and wanting to do less for more because I've seen the arguments for less scrolls, but ToA was also 58% chance of Fang/LB on release, so scrolls being 60% isn't abnormal.
We've also seen what happens when scrolls are not common enough, which is why they changed it.
Reason is because HMT is worse without scythe, deaths happen very frequently compared to normal ToB, so your expected time for scythe at hmt only ends up being similar

It is still very good place to train for ironman anyway

You'll blow through an entire hour's worth in a few minutes
the proposed changes to the xp when using rubium makes sense when combining the xp per bar in making cannonballs. total is like 40% higher than smithing item from bar even with the nerf

I mean cm wouldn’t be meta, because it’s still low unique chance compared to a scaled raid. You’d just have better chance at useful uniques over always getting scrolls.

You would have to do 2 CM an hour to land the same pph of a scaled full run. Which can be even shorter if you good.

burn is based on your hitsplat so yes it matters. burn deals +120% of your hit over 15seconds
