because right now they're in the pump phase as hype is building.
When boss comes out and people evaluate how useful they actually are, the hype will die.
Very likely they are overhyped meaning the hype will decrease and the price will fall accordingly.
I get what ur saying but this item is so cancer to make from scratch so its not very available easily if you do need 1 per fight..also the price is justified for what it is atm
And hype does not matter at all once the use case is in play

like the tome of fire and dealing with sunfire runes and so on
that would honestly be a gameplay downgrade

so theres never any reason to stay and risk

You can make the boss singles and have path ways that lead to multi based on the door you enter
Each door can be random
Or if u solve a puzzle which takes time u are in singles forsure

Boss lair is safe 100%...when u leave lair you get diff paths (these paths are all singles) some of em lead to multi areas and some into single areas some into safe areas
If u spend time solving a puzzle u can get led to a safe area 100%

Or if u dont wana spend time solving a puzzle u can do a random door and just gamble
i mean "solving a puzzle" is just gonna instantly be done by either 1. bots or 2. a 3rd party client lol
Puzzle can be something like a barrows door puzzle but longer to solve ofc
so you cant leave much loot at the boss
cuz anyone with a quarter of a brain is just gonna leave in singles, and if anyone attacks them just freeze and log out
and essentially free farm 8-10m/h lol
The answer to the puzzle isnt the point..its how long it takes to do it
It gives chance to a pker to catch ppl with bags
but you're in a safe zone solving it lol

They gotta like balance, route plan and ensure nobody gets themselves into having a bad time. QC relics and bug fix new items etc. Just this one league probably takes more brain power than those areas that didnt even really have a ton going on

Zeah was a big area expansion that didnt focus on quality or actual things to do and the backlash shaped where we are today
(almost) Every update has a lot more thought going in on how it will be more future proofed these days
people also ignoring that a lot of recent work has been towards new players, like just recently they did full level-up and skill guide rework to make it easier for new players
old players do not see the new player changes because they wanted to always have old settings by default and do not interact with low level stuff

bruh even if jagex didn't directly raise prices or if they did but it wasn't their idea, they still pissed everybody and their dogs off. rs is more expensive than wow if you think about it, rs allows one character per membership, wow lets you have a ton of characters, so you pay the membership multiplicatively of how many characters you have... it adds up, if jagex were to allow people to have all characters on their jagex account be members on one subscription, this wouldn't be an issue
but, they will never do that, because a large deal of the revenue comes from those guys, thus they could never live up to that principle, it's not about adding value, it's about extracting it
Tbh if prayers dont work on the ocean in any capacity sailing combat will never even get close to as good as land combat is

most bots run on bonds, which makes their price go up due to demand, if you have watched, bond prices are quite low compared to before, it was 14.5m not long ago but after the big bot burst it was like 12m or so, and right now with the dollar price increase, a bond is now worth 13.7m

doesnt work in osrs because players want a way to avoid all damage while keeping max dps

you'd lose your footing trying to fight on your boat and do less damage
and then that was the head canon but they didn't put any explanation in the game

rolled 2-5 = 50% Damage
rolled 6-60 = 25% Damage
rolled 61-90 = 20% Damage
rolled 91-100 =10% Damage

Not automatic, but with the current function your left cannon wouldn’t attempt to change target if your payer attacks something out of its LOS (other side of boat) and would change, if not locked, if you attacked something it it’s LOS
the cannons attacking whatever you attack normally is interesting because like
that's basically sailing auto retaliate where good players are probably gonna turn that shit off immediately as soon as the content matters
because you'll probably be asked to hit different targets at the same time since its kinda one of the only things jagex could do to make it interesting
Yeah functionally that wouldn’t change, just that if you attack something out of one cannon’s los, it’ll continue doing what it’s doing (attacking or idle) vs trying to target something that it can’t

Jagex took the feedback that it was not received well and will figure something out. Honestly, I think they could find a happy medium.
Double everything's HP, double cannon damage, double the damage brackets. This makes cannons deal the same ratio of damage as now, and makes players deal the same ratio. Nothing has changed.
Now, every time you fire a cannon and hit an enemy, the player damage bracket shifts, the player will deal more damage more often. You can tie in the type of cannon ball to how much it shifts. Say, dragon cannonballs shift the 100% from a 1% chance to a 25% chance.
This heavily incentivizes shooting your cannon if you want to also wail on things with your shadow/bowfa.
except last we heard they were thinking about making cannons slower and just letting us do normal damage
we'll just have to see what they do though

they should just play to the strengths of sailing basically

i also think that healing/repairing your ship is in a pretty bad spot
im not sure that will ever be interesting given that you can basically bring a lifetime supply of healing items
they might have to make bosses a pursuit style thing where if you fail too much the boss escapes or something along those lines
just because i have no idea how you make taking damage normally interesting now
i guess they could just revert to attacking the player and just not even hit your ship lol

you might be annoyed that you're "wasting" the kits because that's your time invested in getting them

It's just adding cannonball saving and making cannons slower but hit harder
making it consume less cannonballs without reducing dps would be very nice for ironman since people always complain about not having enough adamant+ cannonballs and mithril is way too low dps/accuracy for highest tier sea creatures
