#game-update

Equippable containers are a straight up nerf basically
i dont really understand how they have containers that all do the same thing with different items but were apparently just vibe coded by whoever
No idea why they even added them if they are a negative qol
so they all work differently under the hood
lmao someone is just going to have to remake them all eventually
so they have a standard for how its supposed to be done
its like how the end of raid chests all did the same thing but actually the buttons were in different places and they were created differently each time
and they went back to it eventually
yeah im so confused why it doesnt work for equipped containers because like that was the whole point of adding the button lol
ehh, i mean it does make sense to have a dedicated button rather than having to fiddle about with menu entry swapper for each container
same amount of clicks in the end
Ironic that osrs marketing was basically dogging on WOW for feeling like a seasonal game and now are trying to push heavy on seasonal/temp game modes
Granted, not a 1:1 comparison but still holds
osrs is actually heavily leaning in that direction for the last couple of years
idk if its even a 1:100 comparison
they're also doing the whole "we're not going to update often but we're going to release massive expansions"
If they move forward with dmm and leagues every year, that’s legit like 1/4-1/3 of the year being temp game modes
its not even remotely close to something seasonal like wows raid tiers
- rs3 league for those that do both
the days of them doing an update weekly or every two weeks and having that content be anything of note are basically gone
its all big featured shit like varlamore or sailing
Whatever was in the water between 2014 and 2018, we need that again
hard to complain, leagues are fun so
They are, but they get old very fast
It only lasts 8 weeks
And we just had grid not even a year ago
i mean idk if its that hard to complain i have fun with leagues but can also easily say i have way more fun with big updates for the real game
pretty easy to choose between the two for me
im just interested in how we so quickly got back to doing this again
what do u mean?
the last time they hit us with league/dmm/not much main game content
they said it wouldn't happen again
If I had to choose between no league 2026 to get BMR early 2026 and raid4 in summer as opposed to current schedule, I’d take that in a heartbeat
and it wasn't that long ago
They also said when dropped that they wouldn’t go 4 years between raids again
And here we are, 4 years later
🤣
same year almost too
From their PoV the return on investment must be undeniable. Even from what we're able to gather as players, we can't refute the amount of hype and eyeballs leagues brings
im pretty sure toa was the year after they forgot to update the real game
ye this kinda outweighs all lol
Naturally though you would expect them to lose hype if they become too frequent though
the statements were almost definitely within 12 months of each other so its a bit funny
tbh i dont think leagues is taking them that much time that they would be 6 months ahead of schedule without it, like im guessing leagues probably isnt taking all that much time anymore now that they have the formula figured out
the only way they'd change is if there was a measurable drop in revenue
what the league is really doing
Yeah but there’s zero chance they drop something big like BMR during a league
those guys making it could probably have just made 1 or 2 pieces of relatively big content instead
and we'll just never know what they would've been
i really doubt it
i mean i dont they do systems art rewards mechanics and so on
leagues are a huge job
there were a huge job
yeah idk if thats true anymore, they have the systems in place
An 8 week league is basically 10 weeks of no updates
The week before is always minimal “to prepare” and the week after is always touching up on issues that came after with points, and a recap of the league
and they reuse them each league
there leagues are basically a copy paste with just coming up with new relics mechanics now
art is probably like half the work at this point
so why do we think they just dont have content lined up then
though we cant ignore the fact they did design like 8 mini bosses last time
remixing their mechanics
and we'll be getting those same bosses again this league
like kq and gg were basically new bosses
i hope theres more though and not just the same ones?
it sounded like old bosses, new rewards
they did go out of their way to tell us they would also have totally new stuff when talking about those bosses and items
idk we're certainly not getting a whole new group of remixed bosses at least
and you know they dont need to do that because region locking
Artwork, items and special enemies are probably the only real cost and I doubt that's breaking the bank. Changing XP values, area-locking, etc. is something a guy running a private server can configure. That's probably some settings.cfg file, lol.
most people didnt get close to playing all of them in raging echoes
nah on the stream they directly asked if it would be new
and the guy confirmed some of them at least would be
As they were so popular, we're looking to bring back the previous League's Echo Bosses! For those unfamiliar, these versions of bosses are more powerful and mechanically different alternatives of some of the big baddies of the world. While this time you'll be mostly familiar with what bosses you'll be facing, you might not see all the rewards from last League return and instead some new friends taking their place.
hmmm but that could mean bringing back the same bosses or bringing back the concept?
While this time you'll be mostly familiar with what bosses you'll be facing,
They're definitely getting more from leagues than they put in.
or tweaking the old echo bosses
thats fine by me, but that does undeniably increase the workload
we also didnt get a league last year either, presumably due to sailing
oh you know what i can find a comment by mod ash thats topical
im just afraid they're putting their hopes on the sailing expansion as the big release
basically like how they ran varlamore part 2 and 3
except they'll just release more crap islands with nothing on them lmao
some of the main devs from leagues were working on sailing, thats probably why
please dont let it happen
What if they have internal financial projections from leagues that's going to support other projects? We just don't know.
Ngl there’s zero excitement from me for the new sailing content
Already 99 and it gives me nothing for the rest of the game
yeah they shot so far below what would be exciting with part 1
Just another task needed to use music cape for clues
who even cares about part 2 now
hopefully they fix that but lmao
im just imagining more useless islands and another place to do laps
only thing im remotely interested in for part 2 is more boats hopefully
Aka more tele hotspots 💀
maybe they should've put raids 4 on an island
just so it would look like something was happening
#old-school message august 2025, ash says theyve started pre-planning the next leagues
#old-school message december 2025, ash says leagues 6 was pushed back to make room for Sailing (which seems to suggest it could've been out late november)
its just funny how perception changes
is there a place to track osrs daily player count since misplaced items went down?
because i was wondering how a sailing boss would go
now im praying it doesn't see the light of day
I think the combat update will be good, because they removing the reduction and having your cannons be like strong thralls.
yeah but prayer etc doesn't work on boats
I like having my crew fire-at-will too.
so its going to be about controlling your cannons to make them hit different things
or just sailing to move the boat
nothing else you can do with how they set it up
whole thing is a bit weird though
for guys saying its not a combat skill they made sure it was a unique combat skill lol
well they gave up very quickly trying to make it the primary combat method in the ocean
Having cannons be such a large chunk of the sea DPS is just terrible. The sheer amount of cannonballs, we need avas for the ship
scuba crew who fetch lost cannonballs
Imo sailing combat needs a few things. The skill should be tied to your combat, thus raising max cb. The higher your sailing, tied partially with a little of your range lvl and cannon/cball type should depict damage output and maybe attack speed. Monsters should have their stats balanced accordingly. Ships movement shouldn't be as slow as it is, as far as turning on the spot. Or the cannons just need to be akin to dwarf multi cannons and maybe only the front of the boat can block the view. You can only be so realistic with that kind of stuff before it just feels too clunky
And dragon cannons need a spec
dude imagine sailing pking ppl by doing drive bys from the seas on ppl who are at the shore
is this real
its a real clip from sailing development
what if u can ice barrage the water
This is art
tbh my faith for sailing is pretty low and they're not doing a lot to win me over as much as they've been confirming what i suspected from the start
well at least from the start of actually playing it
they took all the time in the world to talk about combat and came back pretty out of touch with how bad it is anyways
then they added a way for us to move things we've already built but couldn't stand the idea of anyone doing anything reasonably still
so its a 1 in 2k drop and one time use lol
Tbh if it was a much lower drop you'd probs get annoyed that you're constantly getting a useless drop
it shouldn't even be a drop lmao
you should just be able to move the stuff on your boat with maybe a fee
Im almost certain that its probably an issue with coding as to why they've made it the way it is
u shouldnt be moving yr stuff around all the time anyways
Its like with the poh, you cant move facilities in there without deleting
You can only move the entire rooms
wait are me and imxe agreeing on something
true which is more of a reason that its crazy to ask people to turn around and go salvage more just to fix something thats obviously poorly designed from them to begin with
should just be talking to an npc or just paying on the spot to move things when you need to do it and moving on
they arent asking normal people to go back to salvage more, they are telling you, while salvagin you will get some
except it doesn't drop from the salvage you'll spend most of your time at
it aint for those who already are maxed, but for those who are leveling
so they are asking people to go salvage more
Its about the longevity too tbh, its kind of a mistake fixer I guess, shouldn't be used too often
stop thinking of things from a maxed perspective
think of them of people who are still leveling
level 87 =/= maxed
Gotta remember its not just for now but for years so I can understand the salvage angle
it is 87 right?
when you do the form of salvage that you'll spend more than half your time at
assuming you do end up going for 99
yeah that salvage doesn't drop them
well ya, not a good idea to make people only sit at one
same reason savior's paint shouldnt from the best salvage either, if they add it to the other salvage drop tables
i think we're getting off track from the point i was making to begin with tbh
there was no reason to gamify a fix to a poorly thought out system to try and milk people for more of their time
sailing already does plenty of that for useless rewards to begin with
u say poor thought out system, but its not
yeah they added the facility bottle because it was perfect
honestly, i like that they did it that way
i still think rearranging things in the same boat should be free
no sleezy main trying to max, then sell back their stuff cuz they "done"
yep, which is good
ok but you dont have a second house you might want to use the 1/20k drop on instead? pointless comparison
i wouldnt have put it in the wrong place the first time around
make the bank UI changes toggle-able
this reset all my left-click swaps and now the icons are in different places lol
what was the point
i dont know what people are complaining about with the bank UI
and its not a pointless comparison lol, i was saying that they clearly have coding issues with moving just facilities. you cant move a portal chamber in a poh, u can only move the entire room
@tacit wharf a toggle would make both sides happy, why thumbs down?
You do something one way for 10 years, you gain muscle memory lmao. It is just a minor annoyance but I don't see why it needed to be changed.
they would probably have to build a whole new system to handle it
so u fix it and move on
Their reasoning for moving the equipment button, for example. Now the settings are out of the way but I used that far more than the equipment button in my bank
give it a week and you'll be back to clicking in no time
also im sure they are listening, we might see it moved back?
Most other settings like this have been toggle-able tho, doesn't make sense why this wasnt
I don't necessarily want it moved back, I'd just rather a toggle. I'm sure some people like the new way
If they get enough feedback, they probably will
the equpiment tab was togglable?
dawg I'm gonna need you to go read your discord bio
its not my fault u cant read though
exactly
hey man I'm just sharing my opinion and giving feedback on the update, which is what this channel is for
no need to dismiss it without adding anything constructive lol
like I said, not a big deal, but would have been nice to have a toggle for the different UI
i doubt they will make it a toggle, they wont want to maintain 2 different uis
it's just an insane decision to look at the playerbase asking for moving-facilities-around QoL and lock that QoL behind a 1/2000 salvage drop
"we want this QoL change"
"alright get a 1/2000 drop"
at least make it buyable from the shipwright for X amount of coins so the drop just saves you money instead of Unlocking A Single Use
i did, you'll figure it out with a little time
Anyone ever tell you you're unnecessarily condescending? lol
people dislike change but you also have to get use to things when they do
I'm very well aware of this lol
thanks for the input, you got any thoughts on water being wet btw?
water isnt wet, water is dry
yr wet when u touch water, thus you think water is wet
hope that helps
its a system put in place for those to get said item, while they are leveling
not for those who are already leveled
long term, instead of shortsightedness
or at least thats the way i look at it
also, you shouldnt be moving yr facilities around a bunch of times anyways
its for oppsies, not OMG the house is on fire cuz i left the blanket by the fire
yeah but i dont want to have to hunt a 1/2k drop because of a oppsies
and what happens if people level through barracuda trials instead of salvaging, or salvage and don't get the drop because of the variance from 1/2000
hot take maybe but i don't think a 1/1000 or higher drop should exist without a more consistent way to get the same thing
the oppsies of not knowing on the day of release that you need a facility next to the helm in order to use it during trials
think yr in the wrong game, this is a game of grinding out things, not a piety gacha system
does changing ur house rooms cost stuff
changing things in hotspots of yr room do
don't think I've ever blocked someone so fast

cant build the wrong item in a different spot though
but its the closest comparison to what we have in-game atm
moving yr rooms around in yr house is like switching boats
building the wrong thing in yr rooms hotspot is like building the wrong facility in your boat
He is quite the contrarian lol
likely nothing better to do
nah we were just talkin about it lol
not a very expensive fix, a few cg runs and you'll make that back quickly
share your feedback and hope they let us customize it or something
I mean, why they moved my equip character option from left all the way to the right? who in Jagex thought its a great idea to have people for years using an option and move it to a whole different part without even asking?
hahaha
give it a week and you'll forget it was even moved
naaaaaaaa
taco I'm gonna suggest you block him now lol, he's just going to say something contrary to whatever you post
you can't win
?
im right dominant, and use things on my left
me and taco are buds
it also messed up all my overlays
yr overlays?
like take one of certain foods
yup, annoying af
oh the change on the bottom
had to re-do them all that I could remember
think it looks cleaner
thought they could change the insert/swop gear buttons
hard to tell which is what sometimes
will plugins be allowed to change/altar these layouts. or at least an option to revert to the previous layout?
wont be an option to revert because that just creates a ton of work, but I can't see why someone wouldnt be able to make a plugin that swaps the position of buttons
or at least lower the size of some. i liked the small size of the 1 5 10 X button
What's the new layout look like?
Haven't logged in yet
Tism queen will decide

That'd be a fire rsn
Idk why but that got me giggling lmao
I need this pepe to have sparkly nailpolish on
Mobile interfaces are the same as regular game tbh
Well most of them
I think the new interface is good, people just hate change even if it's small
I will say I don't like where the search icon is or where deposit worn items is
Oh yeah put that back
the config went from right to left
the layouts to saved from runelite were removed
so if you have options for take 1 in certain things
now its gone and have to redo
Nooo
This update with moving facilities is actually insane, should not be a 1/2k drop. Moving facilities should be unlimited, maybe with a small gp cost or something.
seems like its already a pretty small gp cost to me atm for something most people will never need to do in the first place
No you don't understand, if I wanna move my facilities on ironman mode 10 times? I have to actually play the game for multiple hours. This is unacceptable
I never used the shown warn items button. Yall do?
only to make sure that the items i equp, actually equpt
I used that interface to make inv setup photos in the past
Nowadays I just use the inv loadout plugin or w/e
Whatever plugin puts the tabs on the left side of bank
fixed is nice if u enlarge it
Fixed - stretched mode
jagex why?
old on the left - new on the right
remember what they took 🙁
defo need a toggle
this but bank interface
also apparently new layout is bad for gim - shared bank storage is a toggle where potion storage is
Because people said they like the new interface
it's terrible
Did you give your feedback when they asked for it lol
that was something that i missed
hard to stay upto date with every update. I read every poll, every update and missed that one
would have provided feedback otherwise
bigger buttons is good for mobile but why desktop?
also as a new player how do they know what the numbers do
the old ui communicated what buttons did way better
also what people
would be good to know what kind of accounts "liked" the new ui
comparing the 2 ui - the old one communicates better
should be optional
Why is because it passed a poll presumably
weird doesn't look like a bank ui poll question
*The unfortunate piece of news here is that we're not yet at a point where we can configure what you deposit via custom toggles, as we mentioned in the poll question, but will revisit this feature if we feel able to confidently deliver this in the future. *
damn
why bring it to the game if it's not ready!
i just want the option to go back
ples
maybe someone will make a plugin so you can move things around
those guys are miracle workers
I know the jmods mean well but I do hope they make it optional or at least give players customisation on where buttons are
at least to swap the search and lock/unlock buttons
i cant acess my potion storage
this is all they had to do
The funny part is that there’s still stuff missing from bank interface. I didn’t realise you could lock inv slots until I used a deposit box. No idea where the UI for that is on the bank
In the settings menu, the same place it was before
I thought it was a staff in the top right not a spanner 😭
Reddit is so hilarious, one day they hate restricted accounts, the next day ranting about boat bottle hard to get (30k in GE)
using the ge value for anything is a take
I don't hate the UI changes but swapping the positions of buttons is mental
I click to search and disable placeholders, I click to open my equipment and open the settings instead
It's better to keep the relative positions of things the same if you're gonna add new things to the ui I think
Jesus Christ this looks infinitely better
search not being next to inv dep will be my hill
Even the empty containers on the far right
It just feels like if they had to move stuff around (to where the ui is now) the bank layout either is too small or an overhaul is due
Was the bank interface always an issue or something? Don't understand the change
It was to add the deposit containers option
I know im late to the party but imo the Facility bottles just feel tonedeaf if its a technical limitation that we cant have a POH style shifting selection: fine, but why do they have to be rare drops?! It would have been a significantly better solution to just have them only be available for purchase inside the shipwright dock for a small fee and not allowing you to leave with them rather than this. With how easy it is to accidently misplace something like the windcatcher or crystal extractor or just wanting to experiment with different setups makes this just feel like a slap in the face.
Also: why change deposit box layout? Noone asked for this. The new bank modes yes people voted for it, but noone wanted for the bank deposit box to change.
nah that username is criminal

should not google holy
damn, thought it was would've been just an add and not a rearrange
work 9 days a week feeding 12 kids and 14 wives cant possibly do the 30 minute afk content to get the bottle you don't need if you look at a placement guide for 1 minute
rip your eyeballs
its a new Item but its not 30k
U right, wiki buggin out
Doesn’t mean much when salvage is likely the #1 method of training sailing
ya but this is all the lower tier salvage also 1/2k for a item that is destroyed on use. is insane
low tier
frem salvage
your not at fremnik long once you hit 87 you move up to merchant
Irons complaining about drop rates that thousands of players share via the GE again?
It’s about 8k salvages from 80-87 i think
Gz on your year long successful endeavor btw
I think its a bit extreme for a QOL function that should be available to the skill itself.
It would be extremely annoying if it were on the Merchant drop table and you continually received a useless bottle that you had no usage for. Just like how receiving multiple dolls is already annoying.
Its for irons lol
its not for irons lol
It pretty much is
its not
K
unless you like spending 10m+ each time you want to move something on your boat XD
I can understand that perspective. Maybe it’s too gimmicky
i think this is an entire reddit moment BUT i will not bother grinding the clog because i presume jagex will buckle and make it more common

Main talk has been to have it sold by shipwrights for a fee to help sink gold.
idk why they made a whole new bottle when ship bottles are already useless tbh
Yeah maybe should’ve just let ship bottles do both
like if we can put our whole ship in the bottle
surely the facilities of said ship can also go inside it
its no doubt a coding things that would go over most of our heads
im begging swap back placeholder and search
Bottles are kinda dumb idea anyways.
I'm begging that they thin the search button a bit, reduce the padding, and make the deposit boxes the same size as they originally were, I think they are a bit smaller now
the OCD has gotten them
actually that last bit might be wrong
I'm just wondering who on earth thought that search needed to be the biggest button and why it needs extra padding
maybe it's ocd but I kept seeing people praise the design and I cannot understand why
Lmk when you open up those caskets
open up to us
Boat bottles are for if you're too poor to afford a teleport focus
Or not on Standard Spellbook and need to shift your boat around somewhere else
I can see a purpose for them, but it's minimal
there's tabs
Kind of forgot about those
Lots of people in the previous ui said that they would accidentally click on the deposit inventory button when trying to search for an item
are the lots of people in the room with us
moving search over is terrorist behavior
Probably many complaints about trying to hit search and dumping inventory instead
salvage is likely the #1 method of training sailing
for a person who sucks at trials sure
but otherwise no its not
mlm vs 3 tick granite tier fight aah
On mobile?
Definitely not "objectively better" when talking about how people train a skill
It's so incredibly afk for still a very solid margin of xp
Trials are much less popular than salvage
yea, i'd imagine it's actually ridiculously tilted to salvaging
guessing over 90% of sailing xp past lv 72 is via salvage
it clears trials
Perception of trials def skewed cuz thats what all the streamers were doing
objectively better as in
faster way to level not necessarily the more enjoyable way to level
I love to do hard/active content in this game, however, me and my circle of like 10 people are all planning to salavage to 99. Like 1 iron wants to clog once combat/trials is updated but even that is a really small amount of total xp to 99
i'd imagine the amount of people who train skills efficiently is under 1200 total players
some people dabble for a while but the overwhelming majority picks an afk option over an active option
and heaven forbid the active option requires attention
Thats not always true of every skill, but it is of sailing
what skill do you think it's not true in
agi i bet enough people do seph, still probably a ridiculous ratio of ardy to sep
Fletching, con, magic, slayer maybe.
Its probably true of more skills than not true
No way enough people do sep. Remember when that was a league task and there was a bajillion people whining about how hard it was
So i think we probably generally agree but there are a solid amount of exceptions.
Thieving i think
darts, 2t flat packs, completely passive, very few do efficient slayer
Agility more people run laps than foot pedal brimhaven or afk house
fire facts
Alot do boss slayer, burst
people don't do these methods is me point
boss slayer primarily bursting are both not meta
fire making is 100% passive xp efficiently now
you get 200m firemaking during 200m theiving
Are we still talking about "most people"?
i am trying to show that most people, by a huge %, do not choose efficient methods because they are efficient
they choose the afk or profitable option
Im not a great reference for thieving tbf. Ive had 99 thieving on my 2 accs for years
Yeah thats true im inline with what you are saying too
this is in response to manaless's comments on trials mostly
Sailing is salvaging for 90% of players outside of like levels 1-50
just because a method is efficient doesn't mean anyone's gonna do it
And i stalled on sailing to tears of guthix it lol
Great discussion - let’s introduce some low effort agility options to spice up the skills.
what?
Foot pedal brimmy exists
True
agility isnt even bad to level as it is. granted I wish seppy was buffed
Can literally turn off your monitor to 99
Sep is so goated
Varlamore course should have had ladders be automatic is all
Or not exist
The ladders that is
Varlamore course feels like it is half done
Weird that you can even get teleports to when there is a bird outside
I mean if it had like 1 or 2 less clicks it would have felt different and filled a niche
Anyone been to the wildy bosses post update, thinking about clearing all cas there with deadman this weekend
Buffed xp would make sense too 👏🏻
Well, pretty much all the player designed islands come with an agility activity. Guess we will see
We shall. I’ll be 99 by then but it’ll help those not yet 😂
Im putting off 99 on the off chance its goated. More than likely I will be at brimhaven the whole time
Ill send sepulchre for funsies though for a level or two
Nice they stuck with the UI changes for now
did the bank update change everyones menu swaps? or just mine?
can i revert it back to the old bank UI to avoid having to manually change everything back to what it was before
Don't dilute the merchant salvage further....
Don't know if any of the ppl at jagex will read this but it would be rly nice if the empty containers button would also work for fish crates from sailing, so u dont have to spam click empty on all of them
unless there's another way to do that that I don't know of already
Ty jagex for remaining sane with the facility bottle
Actually wouldn't be bad as a sailing cape perk
Let the cape store a facility
Fuck let it store a boat too
considering how depressing the perks yeah
What is perk of sail cape
Rename boat (you can choose the name instead of rng)
Teleport boat to you for free
Teleport to pandy
Oh yeah...
At least we don't have day one boat names
free renames could easily have been like a charting reward or something
not 99 sailing 😭
It probably only exists because they were reaching for anything that would be useful but not replace a facility
So it just got some useless perk
and it got "QOL" by adding teleports that are ironically terrible
Yeah idk why the teleports aren’t from the sailing amulet
The only time the sailing cape teleport gets used is if I misclick on my max cape
That’s about how useful it is
At least its more useful than herb cape, craft cape, wc cape, and all of the others that are knowingly useless yet wont change
Crafting cape is one of the best in the game
Theres like 2 useful 99 capes that i keep in bank
Oh yeah not crafting duh
Im still sleeping
Thats one i keep in my bank
Isnt it still closer to bank
Craft Cape is better yeah
Isn't it still the closest consistent teleport
Closest overall is still sepulchre teles
Ye
Sailor's Amulet and Achievement Diary cape are identical tiles to bank
And Crafting cape is up to 2 tiles better
UPDATE!!
When you first start your client the menu swaps will not work BUT if you close your client and open it one more time it WILL have all your previous menu swaps
Yea I avoid any tick manip leveling methods I just don’t care enough
Dock Johnson is going to like is update
Buying ship bottles. Granted 75k takes a bit for a sailing locked
avoiding tick manip is very valid. i get a little frustrated at people who argue that it has no place in the game
700 hours at a coin spawn lul
My ideal gameplay is engaged but not like 100% apm clicking (which is what tick requires)
This fletching mini-game is really good. shame it dont got end game uses
I think most people would rather be engaged and thinking instead of like
Just having a very high uptime on clicking in a rhythm perpetually
Hear me out, ship and facility bottles should be added to the port task reward pool
I hope so but sometimes the wiki implies tick manipulation is the only way to train
What is wrong with the latest update
Not true ofc but I reckon the skill guides need a tweak to list more sane stuff
I did 87-99 sailing and 92-99 woodcutting, thanks to the 90k an hour afk methods. i enjoy skilling much more when its around this and that activity.
Yeah but that’s just reinforcing a weird osrs stereotype most people are actually not built like that
90k/hr wc xp? what methods that high?! (edit:for afk)
the good news is most training metas are more "activity" based than something like 3t4g
lol most gamers on osrs are a little more normal and do actually get bored
ironwood
ironwood's , redwoods, scullisceps, and 2t or 1.5t teaks all are 90k xp / hr +
wow I heard ironwood supplanted redwoods
ironwood on that island with forestry worlds is like 90-100k an hour for woodcut
I thought redwoods topped out around 75k with the forestry rations but its been a hot minute since I got 99 wc
Do yall agree port task rewards could be better though? Adding these bottles seems like a win-win
Port task rewards should be entirely reworked lol
As is it’s just some ass exp method that gives you basically nothing
anything that reduces their prices to 1k each. No way bottles will fix facility issues. Can't just go enjoy a different sailing training method without comitting a big sum of money to switch out your facilities.
its currently the best way to get pet
So you get a useless cosmetic
Personally would like to see both types of bottles and some more rewards added to port tasks, give it a sailing rare drop table
? 75k is nothing lol
at most youll have to bottle your hooks and nets maybe cannons
150k to switch out both facilities to enjoy trawling a bit, another 150k to switch back to enjoy a bit of salvaging.
build seperate boats
Yeah they could charge us 150k to log in and it wouldn’t matter
It's gonna quickly surpass the costs of just making a new boat
It’s not a lot of gp
I dont mind jagex stance that if you should plan your boat specs out before building, but outright buying them from an NPC feels like a bandaid solution
75k for the bottles is fine, it’s a nominal gold sink and they’re going to be more common from more salvages
you will not need to move facilities a lot
What do u think of today’s changes
Also if you have a boat where 150k would add up to a new boat quickly
Those bottles are not for you
ABSOLUTE W
charging for swapping out facilities just sounds silly to me
Only really seeing myself using facility bottles on items that either cost a lot to make or use rare parts (dragon items/the bottled storm/swift feathers/barbs/etc)
Building costs should be the main price, not swapping
thats what they are for
yes
thinking youcan just change facilities like you change yr cloths, sounds silly
Why is it silly?
yr meant to have more than 1 boat, no just constantly switching out yr facilities
u dont even need a good boat to go salvaging
Wait till you find out we can move rooms around in our POH
except its not like that
Then Jagex has a completely different view on boats than I do. Which is whatever. Boats are realistically expensive. And to a sailor/captain they are important enough to name them. Having a shipyard full of boats like a garage full of lambos is a weird thing.

honestly we are going to see people doing exactly the latter now.
Ship bottles are fine then, just their idea on boats is silly
sadly, they didnt go the way of, u only get dragon cannon/hook, bottled storm back only and the rest of supplies lost
Why are they neglecting pvp seance
The ship bottle facility shuffle thing is to make up for jagex making several of the upgrades way too hard to obtain
If it weren’t unacceptable to delete them we wouldn’t need the bottles
Why are the updates this mouth so bad
I disagree, swapping out facilities should have been on their mind the moment they added different training methods/activities for the same facility slot.
They clearly intend for you to have more than one boat
I mean that’s the system they put in front of us lol
That's true
I'm having trouble coming to terms with how they implemented sailing alltogether I guess lol
It was /so close/
Really it looks like we’re supposed to have 3
And then probably like 2 rafts or something to teleport to clue steps
they not made any mistakes yet lol
Combat lol
But pvp does need love. Really hoping we can actually get a fresh take on what pvp content looks like (small teams format pls)
Instead of just cat and mouse bs
If you have two boats what does Tele to Boat do - drop down menu?
brings up the same interface as if yr trying to dock with yr boats
the ones u can tele to, have white text/gray text for those u cant
same thing for tele boat to you
any mention of them moving buttons back to where they were for the bank
" so we'll be waiting a little while before making any drastic changes." so no then, seems odd to move stuff around that didn't need moving but I suppose they just don't wanna work on it anymore
yeah! give them a chance at giving you a sailing-based reward instead of the coins
I forgot I could rename the boat with the cape ngl
At least the animation is cool 🥹
Would be nifty if the cape let you breathe underwater, but that’s perhaps too much
I just don’t wanna change out my outfit for the coral part of my farm run lol
Has there been any word on how many points Deadman awards will be? I only want the crystal and Bowfa recolors and wanna do as little as possible
yeah they already gave us the numbers like a week ago
12k points for that specifically
Is there a blog somewhere?
Tytt
it's 37k points total for all new rewards
Thanks for the help.
We should all take our cannons and riot for a revert bank interface
naw, thats xp waste
Clicking 10 times on the potion storage for it to works is xp waste too
Clicking on empty looting bag instead of search items, because of those years of muscle memory is also xp waste
Sounds like skill issue /shrug
Bro thinks he’s spittin
with how many gold sinks there are in-game now, POH having a fee to move your rooms would fit in right about now
🤦🏻♂️ wth
I'm not advocating for that btw
It's just silly to see people celebrate the 75k gp fee to move your boat's stuff around, when your POH lets you move your rooms for free.
Classic case of them giving us a horrible solution, so the compromise looks great afterwards.
cuz its not the samething as moving a room around in yr house
ngl tho moving a whole ass room in your house for free is wild
your POH is infintely more useful than your boat
That’s more way more labor lmao
construction is literally the gold sink skill lmao
If anything, it should be nickeling and dimeing us for everything
boats are floating houses really
Floating houses lol
roofless house sadly
simply turn roofs back on then
Smartest community ambassador
the ocean is a roof for the sea floor
They should charge us everytime we open our bank too! For .1% of your bank value
I mean we do get charged for using the G.E. now lol
I mean some actual banks do have maintenance fees
Have to pay for rent, mortage, land tax..
See
the _iles brothers charge us, no?
My idea is golden like a gnome
runescape and consistency is like water and 5 types of oil
we pay to have our butlers
but crew members work for free, for some reason?
Jobless Jim’s forever broke
osrs will suck up anything with enough time
I mean we have that private server looking mf in lumbridge, unpolled for years, and eventually people warmed up to him
Ill have to do high alchs everyday just to play 30 mins with all those fees u gon add to the game
High-Alch'ing is just a spell created by the bank of gelinor. The coin is effectively worthless but they allow the masses to use said magic to help manipulate stock value
Tfw you gotta high alch the shirt off your back to survive
that's why the alch-prices are arbitrary
Tfw she wants to look through your phone so you high alch it
that's a mechanic in one of the WGS fights
only way to delete the bomb is to alch it
Make Agility a delivery service skill where you take jobs and have to run to the person with what they ordered

Someone’s training slayer but forgot extra prayer pots, I got you bro I’m otw
Expand farming to breeding livestock in your PoH just have cows and chickens chillin at home you feeding em and there’s a chance a rare baby born becomes a pet
They don’t want me to be a mod I’d make RuneScape pop off too hard
inb4 new skill Animal Husbandry.
And its just farm animal agility
That’s gameplay
I think that would be dressage
If you have 99 thieving you can peek into someone’s pockets and it shows 3 random things they’re holding just to be nosey
You just made a new casino game of trying to get 3 of a kind
They should allow this on dead man except u steal a random item from inventory
Dude hell yeah
Contested thieving level check 😂
too bad there isn't a poh'cean man random event
I noticed a few bugs with the horn of plenty, I reported them in-game and updated the wiki with them (for now). Is there a good place I can drop the bug reports here for visibility?
random sales solicitors could be fun
real talk, if Construction/POH was added today, I wonder how they would approach it?
we'd have competitions to build chairs for the demon butler by having to path around an obstacle course and picking up a certain amount of planks and nails on our way while not stepping on the nails so we dont take feet damage.
and then theres chairvaging where you just reach into a pile of broken boards until you find something useful.
Multiple people who can’t afford their own single decked out PoH should be able to be roommates and split the costs
One big building with stairs like an apartment complex would be funny
Real.
Poh mansion
They will be opened at the end of the year 👀
In
What's that mean?
What's In?
@ancient ember Sorry not sorry for the ping but roses where roses are due for the moveable boat facilities being functional and implemented & so soon. This is great. Thanks yall.
Awe
Any reason besides prayer to go into other peoples houses would be cool
Watch gnomeball on the big screen
the crazy thing about this is the breach points
im fine with it but you get a lot of points lol
The series Ice Poseidon did closing people’s doors and running from the host is funny asl to this day
that was actually, literally one of the ideas back in runescape classic
there were different tiers of apartments/homes
Let’s goo
early runescape ideas were quite fascinating
player owned homes were going to be the main way you stored items, banks didn't really exist then
and the homes were going to be in the physical world
most of them on the east side of varrock
and as runescape got more and more popular, they kept adding more and more houses for the update
but eventually they learned about the scalability issue and scrapted the whole thing until runescape 2
pvp was more a prominent thing, with dueling being a thing anywhere
But I don't think we'd have now-a-days due to the spaghetti code (and also all the gambling going on)
They gotta bring that back
Fuck
I wanna see beef escalate to a fight right there 😂
I'd sum up the old ideas kind of as.... viewing runescape as a true digital world, with actual RPG mechanics
players used to have to sleep n stuff
and firemaking was viewed more as a survival focused skill
(letting you cook almost anywhere)
magic was split between black and white types for a short while
Oh yeah you had sleeping bags right to restore energy or something
Do they accept live questions at rune fest we need a real one to go up there and tell Jagex what it is
Like yoo
I doubt we will ever get the more RPG-esque mechanics back in OSRS
modern OSRS is so streamlined it's honestly not that different from the likes of 14 or WoW
with teleports to every point of meaningful interest
the best we'll maybe get is from Project Zanaris (the jagex approved player-made private servers)
sailing made me realize how spoiled i am with teleports
when sailing launched and I was just sailing around, seeing those super high leveled kraken scared me and made me feel like I was playing an RPG again
gave me that "O snap, I'm not supposed to be here" type of feeling, you know?
so im reading the facility bottle update
im confused
Facilities should still be something you think carefully about when designing your boat, and moving them should carry a real cost.
but why? I can move entire rooms in my POH around for free...
could be just reworded as
Facilities should still be something you are required to consult the wiki for every time you build one.
this is what we get from unpolled changes~
If I were to make a Zanaris-server, with heavy RPG mechanics n stuff...
first thing I'd probably do is gut/rework most of the teleports
experiment with some survival mechanics, like hunger, heat, sleep
its the hotspots inside a room, not the room itself
you can move rooms around in your POH for free but you have to pay to build them and you cant move around your hotspots
a boat is comparable to a room, the facilities are comparable to a hotspot
except most rooms in the POH only have one hotspot for a given thing. I don't have multiple portal nexus hotspots in my nexus room i have to decide between
there's only like, 2 meaningful boat facility spots tho
and that's the crystal extractor
either near the steering thing, or next to a salvage hook
would recommend reading this comment Elena left on reddit:
The key thing we'd like to avoid is gearing your boat like you would gear up for a boss or for a farm run. We want you to be able to change things - we understand people enjoy going in unguided, and metas change over time, which is why we're offering the option to swap facilities around in the first place. But if it's trivial to do, you may very well end up in a position where you gear your boat before each activity, resulting in a more exhausting gameplay loop in the long run. We'd much rather see dedicated boat builds fit for purpose, e.g. "this is my combat boat" or "this is my trawling boat" - almost like a preset. This will be more and more relevant as we expand the facility system.
Regarding "Why can't I just take the hook off the boat and have it in my inventory?" - we discussed whether we should refund resources, but found it hard to draw the line on which ones to refund. If we refund all resources, then we have to completely remove the Construction XP from building it in the first place. If we only refund some items, how do you draw the line? Do you refund nails, planks? Or only "special" items that are dropped from monsters? But if you do that, what about the magic stones, that are quite expensive? There is no clear line and it becomes arbitrary and hard to understand for players. That's why we decided to go with something similar to flat packs - however, we already have flat packs in game, which work slightly differently. It'd be strange to have one type of flat pack work one way, and a similar one work slightly differently.
We explored the idea of an interface-driven solution like the POH has, however it wouldn't work for moving facilities across boats. The bottle solution is essentially flat packs but thematically different - one that fits the thematic we've already established with moving entire boats.
Yes, we got the initial rates wrong for how long it should take to obtain a bottle, but I do believe that the changes we outlined in the blog will achieve what we set out to do: Allow you to reasonably adjust your boat occasionally, but don't trivialise it.
what, but
that's literally what I already do
I have 5 different boats
for different scenarios
hmm
idk, I was just kind of hoping we could store the things that are built in the shipyard?
to me that's more thematic than... a bottle
I mean we literally see boats being built and stuff stored back there already
I don't disagree with the idea of purpose-specific boats, but core boat upgrades are so expensive/time-consuming on the high end because of dragon nails/sheets that it's a bit annoying to actually build all the different boats
and I don't see what's wrong letting people do it freely, the main benefit of having multiple boats for different scenarios is time saved
not every activity needs a max boat to do
Duh, but it often helps to have upgrades like the rosewood hull, for example
well I got 1 for salvage, 1 for trawling, 1 for combat, a skiff for trials, and a raft cuz it's cute
raft is bis for sure
a salvaging boat for example doesnt need the top end upgrades that require dragon materials, outside of the dragon salvaging hooks
well u only need a rosewood hull for ship combat and trawling, which can be done on tha same boat
isnt a better hull just faster?
more hp
faster and more def/hp
would argue u could get away with an ironwood boat for combat even
speed is important for courier runs (which is literally supposed to be the bread and butter of sailing I might add)
which you can do on your skiff, which you want to be fast for trials anyways
most scenerios yeah like high lvl bounties only krakens and sharks damage you on rosewood
honestly it feels like an oversight tbh
and orcas barely
using the trawling sloop as well
cargo boat should be big
crew member should be tied to your boat, not just magically appear at your next stop
not really an oversight that you dont need the largest boat to deliver a crate
ill put it simplier, do u want to make repair kits or make yr sloot hull to rosewood
15 crates?
that many crates on a raft for sure is weird
it's more so the my crew of 5 magically showed up at the port I sailed to that's weird to me
that lets me unload so many crates so easily
Speaking of crates, empty container button should empty the crates in the bank
The opposite of out
what do you mean
ohhh lol this will be too long for 1 sitting
🥀
20 on the floor is anxiety
too much restraint there
I think my limit is like 10 clues to juggle
Those are nice for randomized bingo boards if you get enough
all 3rd age will stay on the iron
Empty containers opening peoples banked caskets would be a funny way to let a few people down
it kinda sorta does though but thats mostly a result of the meta for all of the other boats
basically because what ends up happening is that your salvage boat isn't the salvage boat
its a salvage and combat boat
u mean yr trawling and combat boat
theres actually a reason you dont want that
but i'd have to go look at the slots again
i think you end up using a cannon slot for something else
kegs
i do think that if they were being cool
they would help the trawling/combat combo work better
because that would end up significantly reducing the burden of what you need to get
since you wouldn't care about your hull upgrades anymore on the other boat
Idm the idea that you have a few boats for diff activities parked at diff places. But if thats the intent were gonna need more some other sources for dragon sheets/nails
Are you an iron
just salvage to 99 and scrap the skill for now
We keep it pvm only. I have skilling and clues on bingoes tbh
I haven’t seen a new clog in over 250 masters
Burnt
At 650 total atm?
Over half to hound 🥲
i'm only at 103 masters tbf
I have both acc type main/iron
Drop rates on a lot of sailing stuff is scuffed as is, so like i know where youre going with that and prob agree
I stopped going for any sailing upgrades till they fix combat and add more sources of metal sheets and nails
- give a reason to make the good boat
But also uhhh, grindy game mode is more grindy, even after they fix some drop rates
artificially extending a skill is not great design
I am largely neglecting sailing on the iron as there is hardly any reason to do it besides clues
i mean the only thing i can really say about sailing compared to the rest of the game
Artificial is subjective, and based on if drop rates are built with one boat or multiple in mind
The time sinks feel forced as fuck currently
I wanted to make my sloop with the merchant paint but seeing as you need 2 of each rare paint i'm not even bothering
And dragon cannon rates and requirements leave very little room for future upgrades
Feels short sighted
like usually when you're playing the game you eventually progress to a point where you find some kind of grind thats pretty gross but you gradually ramp up to that
with sailing the content isn't really there but they were like bro we gotta add 40 hours somehow
and thus dragon nails were born
Like what is the barrows cannon gonna be 1000 hours and require 99
lmao
it would be different if like idk
you were fighting a sailing boss somewhere along the way it was end game and dropped a really cool cosmetic or something and it took awhile
stuff like that usually makes sense
idk about just piling on the hours like they did though with random low level/irrelevant stuff
Sailing pvm had so much potential lol
i would have rather they held off on dragon items for boat parts and tie it in with smithing rework + add sailing bosses that drop said items
new tier of dragon bars
need a component from sailing bosses to smelt down dragon items = dragon cballs etc
integrated
rather that sailing isolated
then you'd equally get the arguments that "wow they really pushed a half baked update huh, there's no endgame content to grind out"
Didn’t the community vote against new prayers
They polled a new prayer book or something and people said no
ruinous powers did pass the poll but community feedback made them pull it back
then we had a brief stint into doing god alignments (4 prayers you swap out) but that also was impossible to balance
Reddit*
either it's overpowered or leads to unhealthy game design (shoutout to skilling prayers where it's meta to bring prayer pots + prossy to forestry lol) or is underpowered and therefore underwhelming (shoutout to the cruror prayer which amounted to like, 1% lifesteal because of the comparison to soul split)
Same with demonic digger
Skilling prayers would have been cool
Passed with a pretty solid majority
Then people started crying
And they went "actually we aren't doing this anymore despite everything passing"
The only thing that shouldn't have been added was the tribrid prayer
Wow
that was more of
if you add a desirable skilling upgrade to an endgame boss, you have to make the drop rate super common so it's accessible. imagine if doom dropped it at wave 2 or something at a 1/50. but then the people going for pet or uniques would put 10+ into the game going for treads
If they just got rid of the chip damage + alignments, it would’ve been fine
Alignments were like the 3rd iteration
but if you make it super rare, now you get a farming QOL update that is equal rarity to avernic treads. and that's dumb too
They did the same with sirens tome from tob
way better to put it on something like hespori y'know
It was whole prayer book was better -> prayer book was nichely better except anywhere difficult where the chip was asinine -> actually we're only gonna do alignments for each God and that's it, 4 prayers you can choose to add -> we're not doing this anymore
something that is accessible to people with 70 farming and mid combat stats at a reasonable drop rate, rather than mega common fodder loot from an endgame boss. plus imagine how bad it would feel to see the glowing hole but it's just demonic digger #20
Doing CG while getting hit 25s through prayer was so useless
And then Jads in Inferno would hit you 14s every attack lmao
I’m talking about the god based prayers that were with the first run, that we all got to play with in the beta
Those were a no go
Oh you mean the vows?
curses were already balanced, you couldn't flick turmoil
Yeah those were Nex Minion prayers sorry I thought you meant the last idea they had they also scrapped which was the alignments per God
also no range/mage turm
soul split nutty tho
yeah too bad we got blood fury so now you don't even need to flick
Cruor waa totally useless too
Just let us get Gambit on the regular prayer book
also acting like sustain matters in 2026 man
curses were fun af in leagues
when half the bosses have a teleport right to them
and you can basically already do infinite delves as long as you don't make any catastrophic errors
not infinite but until your supplies run out
idk why they keep scrapping prayer ideas its not even hard
like
lmao they just need to accept that yes new prayers are going to be power creep just like higher tier weapons and armors
and stop trying to galaxy brain
its kinda weird like they'll talk about adding another megarare like it has to happen but run terrified of a stronger prayer
Someone made an interesting prayer suggestion post a while back with ideas
New prayer books based on diff gods
didnt they say they could fill out 3 books but were short on a 4th, so they shelved it for now
or something a long those lines
thats not why they shelved it and they didnt really fill out 3 books
like there had multiple versions of redemption for example lol
Yeah it was really bad
They just didn't seem to care to develop a change they'd have to think about when balancing all future content
Gang gang
revert the bank ui. its really bad.
Make the east Varrock bank great again
It’s like the bank in the hood nobody goes to
its not getting reverted and there's not gonna be a toggle
change is scary but you will get used to it
east varrock bank use to be where my boys met up for pk trips
i still dont really know why they're just dead set on having the same interface for both versions of the game
guys clicking on a desktop and guys trying to hit things with their thumb on a phone screen are not playing the same game
Even if they wanted to force the allignments idea. It could just be one prayer per allignment on release
Mobile players chose to play with that restriction, we shouldn’t cater to them 😤
But id rather just new prayers be added to our current book
Biggest problem is protection prayers are OP from a game design perspective. The prayer books without it must be extremely strong or worth losing those. Or have more powerful versions which you probably won't leave the prayer book on
Will they ever add xp locking tho damnnn what if i wanna use str and get no str exp?
then train str
To be honest, instead of a new prayer book, they literally could have just added the 4 Vows as the rewards and called it a day.
You chose to limit yourself with your own self imposed limitations
I liked the eat faster one
I'm guessing it's for ease of development
Eat faster is funny as hell
What if you started out fat at level 3 and agility slimmed you down
This is just normal iron progression from barrows gear to blood moon
The flaming bread icon for that was honestly funny
Fun little thing to manage when u might need to eat soon
New prayer mega rare is just power creep for retribution
Can we get FunOrb back
But what could it do, realistically?
+100% damage-50% defense (overhead)
I've played since 2004 and have enjoyed most changes. This isn't one of them.
If jagex isn't willing to revert it I'll hold out hope for a plugin.
Don't be weirdly patronising
The bank update is the epitome of poor developer communication and scope creep with no oversight. SMH. Management shame on you.
poor communication like they didnt show us exactly what it was going to look like months ago
scope creep implying that it was beyond the scope of adding a new button to adjust things as part of making room for the new button
are you here just to troll for real? this is the updates/suggestions channel. crawl back wherever you came from bro
i was thinking the same of you lol
i didnt say you couldnt post feedback here
ignored bye
i was just saying your feedback is nonsense because they literally showed what it would look like beforehand, simple as that
I only really see 2 opinions for bank UI. Which is either someone disliking it or someone saying you will get used to it
i dont dislike it
osrs adults don't lose your mind when a small ui change occurs (level: impossible)
im totally fine with it too
The extra button is nice for some people sure but that doesn't mean you change literally everything
but it did
Like why change the ordering of the deposit box icons
didnt they change those all to be the same now
It's not the worst thing ever
It's functional and will have better functionality when the equipped things can be deposited from the button
They made changes that had been widely asked for and shown a mock-up of that got good feedback
People can't explain why they like it. They just patronise and troll people who don't. It's a useless conversation really. Just gonna have to hold out hope for a plugin
when you entry frag a conversation with "shame on you management" and "crawl back wherever you came from bro"
thats ironic when 99% of the negative feedback is "ree change bad me misclick once"
Can't explain why they like it?
It's fine
They got rid of the conflicting text vs icon and made enough room for another button which is useful without overcrowding the space
you probably will get some pushback
It's not though is it
some real brainrot speak there LOL
true, 10% complain about it not being polled lmao
It's the equivalent of someone changing your keyboard layout and saying get used to it
tube has some solid points, id suggest you take heed of in the future
Sure it doesn't matter but why do it anyway
They moved 3 buttons, of which 2 of them you can just menu entry swap to not have left click do anything requiring a more thoughtful right click
nobody will talk about this in a weeks time, this is so hilariously overblown
- Potion storage buttons takes longer to load for me and toggling things in the settings just doesn't work for some reason
is settings font work you probably have a plugin interfering
the potion storage thing is valid, it's curious that it wasnt tick dependent before but now it opens with the tick system
and if not you found a bug and should report it, bugs happen every update
I also can't toggle off empty containers without the other icons shifting
It's a mess really and should have been tested properly even if people did ask for it. I'm looking forward to all the other content coming though and think jagex does a good job usually. Just didn't like this one and I'm gonna have to use it all the time.
Wonder why they moved the Catherby leprechaun closer to the herb patch? I welcome the change, but what's the rationale? They've done this before and reverted it.
They moved all the leprechauns closer to the herb patch for convenience. People got upset so they reverted it.
Wonder when jmods will realize that they can never make everyone happy
i think they learned that a long time ago. They're just also willing to admit mistakes and revert updates if they're wildly unpopular
are you sure they moved it?
the leprechaun stuff? yeah pretty sure
sorry i mean @empty quest
ah all g
the location on the wiki seems to match the location ingame, and the wiki page hasnt been updated recently
actually maybe it was moved a single tile (or maybe the wiki was just slightly off)
Y did u remove an a from ur name
mobile user detected
;p
its there, it just doesnt render on some mobile devices
Ohhhh interesting
