Hey folks,
Just wanted to give you an update on where we're at now with our work to improve our voice channels.
Firstly, you may have noticed we have already increased General to a maximum of 10, and Streaming Channel to 8, leaving the others at 4, 5 and 6. For now, this will be our maximum number going forward. We will continue to monitor and if we see a strong need for changes, such as an additional room, we will consider it.
We will be adhering now to a strict no overfilling policy. This means we will no longer be acting on requests to be added to a full voice channel. This does not include a Chat Mod's presence, so for example the 10 room may read 11 if there is a Chat Mod present.
Finally, we will be disconnecting users showing as muted and deafened from the channel they are in. This is to make sure that spaces are available for those wanting to actively engage in the space. It's not fair to hold a spot that another user could have, even if it's because you're taking a break or afk for a period of time.
I'll continue to update you with developments when I have more to add. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

The issue here is we can't see how long they have been deafened/muted. We don't intend to super strictly follow this, and it'll be a case of if the mods spot someone in that state then they will disconnect them, we aren't hunting them down. Equally, if the channel isn't at capacity then the mod can choose to leave the person in there. I understand it feels unfair, and I understand that often the deafen and mute is done as they need to do things IRL, but with a smaller limit on those channels, we need to make sure that people who want to be actively engaged in the channel are able to.

My aim is to ensure that we're able to efficiently moderate our official space, and right now these are the steps we're taking to do this. We had drastically increased amount of reports for behaviour that goes against our rules, and so we were forced to act to make sure we can monitor it better.
We are still discussing future steps. But I can say now that we won't be inputting age restricted channels, or the option to make them.

The server doesn't need protection, players need to be able to remove toxic and unwanted people from the channels.
A LOT if not ALL of the toxicity is bred through unwanted people being extremely toxic trying to get a response, and then report a modmail with skewed "evidence of wrong doing"
and not being able to have a bot to votekick, or have players create and mod the channels they make themselves. Player moderation, and staff moderation will never fix the issue.

Thanks for allowing us to stream in general voice channel, We still desperately need more total slots in Voice chats though, already seen it maxed out (everything full) twice, The streaming channel was filled iwth 25 people when it was decided to limit them. Right now there are only 33 slots in voice channels total with many filling up, it seems like upping all voice channels to 10 (50 slots total) would alleviate alot of frustration.
If allowing to stream in general was a mistake then please consider it a happy mistake.

You’re allowed to be muted and respond here. Just don’t deafen in the call I spoken to a few mods about it and they know I mute at night cause I can’t talk when it’s late . They have been fine with it and I’ve never been moved to afk or disconnected.

Sitting in voice muted is ok but it isn't fair to be muted and deafened in a full channel. It also isn't fair to be in a full channel but afk especially for long periods. If you are muted and are asked to respond, you can @ the mod asking in voice-text. That way you don't have to talk but we will know you are not afk.
