I prefer 92hp over 88, lets you overheal past DBOW spec max hit (not as relevant anymore, but still relevant in the bracket) and I find 88hp builds require too much brewing

If you notice their HP going up between ticks, you know they are potlocking themselves the whole fight.

cuz u can only eat/drink pots every 3 ticks it's when u drink a pot at a bad time and can't eat - it's pretty common reason to give for dying

like if u restore when u shouldve brewed, or if u brew when u shoulda double ate etc, but ur stuck at lowish hp for 3 ticks

I’m assuming making a med will be the most fulfilling PVP account? As it lets me down the PVM content, as well as hit everyone else (lower CB accounts), is that the right idea?

I think the difference is just a couple pieces of armor. I wanted to be able to wield ely / dfs on my med, for example. I’m assuming, but I don’t think there’s too much of a difference as far as tanky-ness goes between 70&75

Yes. When I made a med I was primarily using it at chins (30+ wildy) to be able to fight mains but also pick on lower lvls. A good balance. Idk if it’s the same these days

As a solo pker in the old wilderness, I know how bad it was. It was really really bad.

That's not to say there's no place for the old wilderness though. They can easily create multiple worlds with the old wilderness mechanics and that scene would revive quite easily. They can put like... 10 worlds titled "Legacy wilderness" and add incentives to be in there and it would be revived.

Well not only is it not obvious that the old pj timer is there, the biggest thing is there's no incentives to even spend your time on that world in the wilderness. You're taking on a ton of un-necessary extra risk for Zero reward/incentives whatsoever. Nobody would willingly do it

A long time ago, during the Old BH days (when BH was in the wilderness), they actually had an incentive to PvM in a BH world. You used to get Bounty hunter emblems (worth 115k at the time). They made it to where if you did any Wildy boss, you'd have a 1/5 chance at getting an emblem. You'd get the emblem + whatever drop the boss dropped. It was 2 boss rolls.

We've been working with our data team and want to trial a change that's a little more light touch than taking a cricket bat to the minigame, which we believe should hamper the efforts of botters without massively disadvantaging regular players. Instead of our initial proposal, we'll be starting small and adding the following requirement to Justine's reward shop:

Players must have won a game of Last Man Standing before purchasing any tradeable items from Justine's Stuff for the Last Shopper Standing.
It may sound small, but we believe this change should make it more difficult for rulebreakers to continue spinning up bot farms, since they rarely win games on these illicit characters. Conversely, many players chasing Collection Log entries or even a Rune Pouch tend to land a win or two on the way and will be able to be sufficiently rewarded for their time spent.

tldr: instead of moving rewards to bounty hunter they will instead of put 1 win requirement to buy anything tradable rewards from lms shop

should fix most of the botting issue, might bring increase to terminator bots though

So been reading up some stuff, basically on paper (ignoring RNG variables), med levels will always sweep moon and zerkers cause they’re low enough CB to hit them in the wild, and also able to wear the same gear with better stats, so as a learning account that can do it all, is there any reason to not go 82ATK/75DEF?

I have the pure main account going, and doing a max main account - so just choosing to do a third build to do more specialized CB in (that can still fight everyone)

I really like this change as a way to experiment and could be applied in other areas of the game in the future. I would imagine 'terminator' bots are rarer, more expensive and harder to implement so it should help in some way (only time will tell). Also it doesn't feel as unnatural as the wildy antibotting measures

Gives them an actual reason to try and learn, the competition is tough sometimes though (specially on UK worlds) but its such a small grind to get a win... You should be able to prove something to get a reward.

I wonder if people will sell carries to get wins, it was really unpopular back then as most people don't grind the 1000 wins cape but it existed... You could also play with friends and trade wins

Usually ppl bring top bottom n staff, but a staff and cape are the two best magic boosting items compared to other slots
It’s really up to u but cape staff n maybe a bottom switch if you already got like a prayer top or something else, ur on a 13 def right or what’s ur normal rev farming gear

yea look into vengeance spell, darkbow spec, heavy ballista, dragon throwing axe special attack, rune knives, possibly crossbow if u wanna be tanky with a shield

crossbow with enchant bolts like opal or dragonstone usually

but u can usually fit atleast a gmaul into a ranged build since its only 50 attack req

just ur build rlly depends what pvp zones and what level enemies you wanna fight

and even if u dont use magic u may want to lvl magic as high as ur ranged because it gives free magic defence

also some ppl using magic shortbow instead of rune knife for dps

ancient gs 67% 64 max + 25 (89 total) + 15 heal (104 dmg+heal total)

this gear set for reference (hitting identical set of karils + staff + dfs)

in terms of vw and ancient outlast they are almost identical so it would be preference whether u value the vw accuracy or the ancient gs extra dmg and heal

since 67% of 104 is 69 which happens to be vw's max

scuffed math... but i think adds up

and ags obviously just most upfront dmg

tho as noted by the bald one, vw is also valuable since u can guarantee momentum if u do it at the start of fight off the bat

godswords also good for smack dmg if u dont have nox hally

It’s likely some player manually guessed where I was going, but I had some people flawlessly follow me thru three different teleports and PK me, it’s highly suspicious

You can still find success. But, you will bump into ppl who are in your bracket that have maximized their cb lvl efficiency (let’s call it) & they will likely have some extra stats on you like str or ranged. These accounts are normally called “prods”. I personally have never had the patience to make one this way but I’ve still found success

scorpia is a low middle tier boss with bad loot in level 50 multi with no escape routes nearby and it doesn't drop any supplies

you are pretty much always dead whenever anyone logs in

it's high risk bad reward

literally the highest risk pvm encounter in the entire wilderness on paper, in reality not that bad because the loot is so shit that nobody bothers hunting people doing it

A lazy-ish unique they could give to scorpia could be something that gives a stronger Poison application to weapons such as the DDS or Arrows/Javelins.

Currently, dragon dagger p(++) caps out at 6 poison damage?... (Outdated and underwhelming btw) Perhaps a scorpia unique could make it to where it could increase it to 15 or 16 poison damage, or arrows can poison for 15.
I wouldn't want to make it 20 because that steps into Zulrah's venom damage that other weapons have.

Scorpia's lair deals 20 poison damage if you dont sip an anti poison, so it kinda fits thematically.

But that's just a bare bones idea for a unique and not very exciting. Again, would rather something over nothing.

I'm genuinely curious what the future of the wilderness will be like. Wish I had a time machine and could fast forward 2-3 years. I want to know if it'll just remain the same and given zero updates, just left to sit there and rot. Or if jagex would eventually make pvp opt in and kill wilderness like they did on rs3.

Over the past few years, I used to have the mentality of... "2023 will be the year the wilderness gets updated" then 2024 comes and thinking the same thing but I've watched year after year go by that now I'm not optimistic about anything. Crazy how now we're in 2026 and we're in literally the same boat as 2023. 2026 will be another year of no wildy/pvp updates

Giving zero updates is finally slowly taking its toll, more than it's ever have. It's been a slow process but we're finally starting to see a noticeable impact on activity. You can go hours without finding a single pvp fight. Activities that are "pvp hotspots" are now dying out (in terms of pvpers) and pvp content creators are playing different accounts such as ironmen and choosing to not pvp. It's crazy to see. Pretty sad. Oh well, guess it's just not meant to be.

You wrote you wanted 60 atk 99 str 99 range and 95 mage. This will get you around cb 78 with 80 hp and 52 prayer or so. Cb calculators would be more precise. With that combat level you will be exposed to other people that are maxed as well and depending on your location of pking, mains could hit you too. In that case low hp has no benefit

Yeah thats a very broad question. If you want to pk at low wildy chaos altar the typical mains of cb 120ish cant hit you, but if you stay around cb 72 other maxed pures still can. Meaning you will put yourself in a less favourable situation. If you go to callisto and you are cb 72ish, be prepared to get hit by meds kind of builds (cb 108ish). If you are 83, which is 52 prayer 60 atk and the rest 99, more will be able to hit you. Of course at Rogue castle majority of the mains can hit you if you are 72 and 83.

Try to experiment with the combat calculator and the places you want to be.

Start hunting bots & pvm noobs is my best advice. The only way to hold your own is to gear to fight back & do so when attacked. Or to go on the offensive, fail, and learn as you go

PvP accs take a while to make though. Don’t expect to go out at lvl 50 and clean house lol. You need mage lvls to freeze, range lvls, and str to KO

PvP needs ranks to go with combat levels. With weighted KDRs. 0-25% = Beginner; 26-75% = intermediate; 76-95% elite; and 96-100% Pro. Lower ranks can initiate combat with higher ranks but not vice versa and kills on higher ranks gets you more weighted rank. This would likely address issues with gold farming and macroing breaking PvP. Worlds can either be unraked for PvP for there can be PvP worlds corresponding to rank levels. Add a loot tracker. If you're k/d isn't causing you to accumulate wealth then your kills are weighted low; likewise histerisis can be applied to the algorythm where high wealth accumulation from pvp loot + consecutive kills moves ranks faster versus a player who's balanced in that tier so 1gp in 1 gp out and 1 kill 1 death.

If you're just cycling 100m in your example to manipulate it flags your acct. That's an abusive trend that's not part of normal gameplay. Ex. you do ten fights for a total of 1Bil (100m each time) transferred back and forth. That's not natural behavior, that's exploiting the rank system.

And if that was a major issue or too much work to manually review, put a GE tax on death loot. Inflation in OS is bad anyway.

This would punish pro players but keep PvP alive for 95% of players. There's a reason ranks exist in virtually all competitive pvp games.

And even if you didn't want to remove gp via another tax, you could reintroduce the gp 1:1 as boost for killing a new player so reward diversity in combat and kill the exploit mechanic.

If any changes I want to posit isnt so much the def values of armours but maybe a change or weight distribution to a couple armour types(black and mithril)..

mithril as it is is viable against a +40att rune scimitar . its already noticable in a partial set and especially more in Full.
Mith wearing at 20+Def. thats a quotient of half against 40(..rune against mithril..) specific and more if rounded to 25. is that not a quarter more?

So to outline the working;;

its the inherint bonus of the armour peice (partial or Fullset) and that relative to the Builds stat value in effect
against Other attack levels Say 40+ to max(99)..

a partial mith set is something like med helm robe and kite
and thats already something like a 40+ slash defensive bonus and a moderate crush(around the same 40+... against a rune 2h at 70+....) and thats sitting already on Twenty Def right- thats a Tier Stat. Tier and item stats couple with slight nuance given rounding and affectually so;

A full set of Mith is at 90+Def
that exceeds a rune scims slash by more than half its points(40). a rune 2h has a slash of about 70 80 depending. (item buffs such as The power ammy.. +7s' across the board--att def str rng pray mag..) the str ammy is alot more niche as it trades those values for
strength alone or chances of Crits.. )

My suggestion about any changes would be simply weight distribution for Mith perhaps lighter than all other armour types
and maybe black sitting as it is or closer to mith but if closer than with slight weight penalty.

but lighter and especially when worn in partial. The change would be making the armour lighter even for its inherent Strength as a Tier20 stat Unlock

and maybe the opposite if extreme for Armour black
at tier10 stat unlock w/ added nuance of it not only being heavier(weight penalty) but even notably more expensive (especiallly if def is buffed closer to addy or rune) .... could be a "gimmick" armour peice though with utility all the same(viable..?)

has access to three armour types(immediate)..
Bronze Iron and Ste.
making lighter the weight of a full set-Bronze to that of both iron and steel
adds another unique if perceptive element to the game and in general weight distribution adds something of
a nuanced "toolkit " for the varied play styles. integrating Specific changes for design Especially weight Distribution I think may help acentuate or define a game so

Interestingly defense does actually matter in pvp, whereas pve people just go for strength bonus. Changing numbers could cause slight meta shift depending on brackets, but it depends. Most of the time people are not using metal armors but things like barrows or moons

If you wanted metal armors in the meta there would probably need to be an improvement of range or mage accuracy in them.

At 1 def no one uses armor because you’re already so squishy it doesn’t matter much, and we just go for offensive

the meta as a whole Definately considers members play. the shift howver if weight is distributed is likely alot notable for ftp(as a meta.. for the few? whats the demograph now).. at 1 you opt for genera of armour types bronze iron.. a def pure ranges at 1-20 I say 25 is a cut off or half between that of addy rune.
the extreme is 1-10 imo.
at 1 your wearing from that genera and the attributes of the peices dont exactly miss theyre ok to moderate considering bracket.
weight gives added nuance to each peice and even memory
some wear armour for cosmetic vue alone as any peice really

ok yeah i wasn't considering f2p much. i'm not familiar with the pvp scene in f2p, but from what i've seen it's mostly people in monk robes anway. I suppose because the max hits are relatively low it's because fights would go on for too long but I'm not sure.

I think robes + hybrid play is s is only viable with high magic to begin w/ high mag is better acc and even magic def. even your base def stat couples w/ the overall magic stat at level. so it becomes a bonus.

Just getting into pking and practicing at lms. I'm having trouble with people death dotting me. What should I do in this situation? Currently I just try to tank it and switch to whip to hit them when they step out from under me. I saw online that people use seeds, but they are not available in lms as part of the initial setup. What sucks is when I get multiple dd in a row.

One strat would be to switch to tank gear and spam click them to bolt them when they step out (they can dodge whip if the step at angles). And then try to catch freeze when unfrozen.
