Playing inefficiently but having fun is more efficient than burning out.
Dragon tool special attack boosts do not have any effect past lvl 99
tree roots can be used for ultracompost
Oh I had a suggestion thread for some over at https://discord.com/channels/324132423636090880/1366087877867343932
If you're doing Herbiboar runs and don't have an Herb Sack yet, you can use the Leprechaun at the nearby Tree Patch on Fossil Island to note your herbs 🌿
You can deal even more damage to the seal of het if you boost above lvl 99
Carying -100kg is the same as carying 0kg
drinking a menaphite remedy just before a divine potion effect ends allows you to retain the boost, which will then tick down normally, rather than vanish instantly
Even at lvl 99 you're not guaranteed to succeed at the East Ardougne log ballance, so don't feel bad if you fail it literally happens to the best of us
during the dunce random event , if you do your 1st puzzle then instead of continuing the dialog, click the dragon again you will get the same puzzle you just did, speedrun that dunce event
you can harvest watermelons and deposit into a nearby compost bin in the same action if you start harvesting, then use a watermelon on the bin immediately after
you can harvest herbs twice as fast if you spam click in the first few ticks
You can get yourself a bolt pouch if you speak to Hirko for only 1,500 coins at the Crossbow shop in Keldagrim, letting you carry up to four different ammo.
The same goes for the Stick Traps in Isafdar
Also you can disable your level-up interface if it happens to interrupt your actions or delay you via the game-settings.
EDIT: Going to add if Did you know tips - for account security, Did you know, if someone is claiming to others to a video for money, do not fall for it, it's a scam.
More account security Did you knows would be nice 🙂
Don't fall for the "I'm quitting, giving away everything" scam, nobody really quits this game. We just take breaks
1- Game squares, also known as tiles, spaces or steps are the basic unit of area that divide the Runescape overworld. They dictate object and entity location. Objects and entities can occupy multiple squares ( for npc who occupy multiply squares their south-westernmost square defines their location). 2- Nearly every action a player performs is influenced by game square behaviours. An understanding of game square mechanics can be used to improve the efficiency of many actions especially those related to movement and combat
This is a really good one, but I would just shorten it to, “Did you know? The tool leprechaun in front of herb patches can exchange your farmed resources into bank notes.”
Not many people even know tool leprechauns note farm resources
Did you know the RuneScape wiki.
"Did you know you can decant potions into any desired dose between 1-4 using Bob Barder by the GE?" I feel like I see a reddit post every now and then about someone finding out after several hundred hours of playing the game.
you can do the same with jewlerry teleports
FYI = Count check can teleport new players straight to the stronghold of security. skipping out having to run all the way there saving a lot of time in the beginning
Did you know that investing money into levels will almost always give you better returns than if you were to invest that same money into gear. levels>gear
Corporeal Beast does not reset his combat stats even if no one is in the room. This means you can lower all of his stats to 0 and take on a 2000hp chicken!
Most large monsters can't attack you while you are underneath them. Try stepping under the Kalphite Queen or Cerberus if you need to eat food!
Eating food delays your next attack by 3 ticks, except certain foods like karambwan which only delay your attack by 2 ticks. Saradomin brews don't incur any attack delay.
Not trying to get people killed I promise 😄
Divine potions negate natural stat decay for 5 minutes. This effect stays even if your stats are reduced by other means.
"Did you know? There is a setting in the Settings menu to automatically re-enable running once you have regained enough energy. This will however interrupt any action in progress."
was this really turned this into a "feature" instead of fixing it?
using mithril seeds forces a player to move, if you cast ice barrage on them that means big trouble
It also works to hold any other boost, including ones to bring you back to the same boost as the divine, and bigger ones. For instance, sipping a Brew -> a sip of the non-divine version of same potion you buffed with brings you back to full boost as if you hadn't brewed.
Considering the 3 tick eat delay between sips, you can effectively not have any attacks where you lose DPS with the majority of melee/non-BP ranged setups
Taking advantage of this also the only way to get a decent Magic boost pre-Heart. Divine Mage potion -> Forgotten Brew will have the divine effect hold the FBrew's boost instead of the mere +4 from the divine mage pot
Did you know if you click somewhere on the ground, you'll walk there
Did you know if you control click somewhere on the ground, you'll walk there
(Must have run turned on to use this feature)
It works both ways so you'll run if you use ctrl when walking.
Did you know wise old man can clean out your bank of old junk that isn't needed anymore?
Also something about all of the jewellery from semi-precious gems. Those are super niche, like who actually knows what an enchanted topaz necklace does, or an enchanted jade ring, opal necklace, etc
Also the "something nice" from boxes and the red tokens reference might be a fun did you know. Or the crack the clue events
And simple useful stuff like "Did you know that the amount of prayer points restored by a dose of prayer potion increases with your level? Having a Holy Wrench in your inventory increases it even further! "
"Did you know that you can cure poision with prayer by using a prayer book while wearing a holy symbol?"
would probably be better if this was organised into threads for early mid and late game so things dont just get lost in thousands of suggestions
Did you know that you can buy “Saradomin’s Light” on the GE and take it to Zamorak’s Encampment within the God Wars Dungeon and then “use” it one time (item disappears afterwards from your inventory) to permanently light up Zamorak’s Encampment?
Did you know that you can buy a “Teleport Anchoring Scroll” on the GE to keep monsters like the Abyssal Demons from moving you around?
Did you know that you can set your weapons and other gear to auto-equip when you reach your gravestone with a box you can tick in all settings?
Did you know the Music Cape(t)/trimmed is deceptively one of the most difficult capes to get? The Music Cape (t) requires all songs, including holiday tracks to be unlocked. It requires all quests to be completed. AND it requires the Achievement Diary Cape in order to trim it.
You can keep your first lvl 99 completionist cape untrimmed by dropping it on the ground before getting a second 99, and then telegrabbing it (if u pick it up normally it trims it)
You can use a knife on desert cactus to refill water skins
You can clear a teleblock early by pking the person who teleblocked you
Did you know, if you run to attack something out of range with a ranged weapon you will end up 1 tile closer than your maximum distance with the ranged weapon.
Did you know logging out clears the remaining duration of a teleblock?
Did you know leaving a player-owned house removes poison?
Did you know Ferox Enclave has a pool that lets you fully restore your health, stats and run energy?
also fix an existing tip: "You can upgrade regular compost in buckets and bins to supercompost by using a supercompost potion on them." - it's actually called Compost potion.
Teleblock one has been huge for me!
Did you know, you can withdraw stacked items from the bank using the "withdraw as noted' option at the bottom of the bank interface.
Did you know, the Lunar spell Geomancy will display a menu showing the growth stage and health status of all farming patches?
Did you know, no monsters spawn in the Grand exchange, except a single imp which makes a grand exchange locked playthrough way easier.
Did you know, on the ardougne rooftop course, every mark of grace that spawns will reset the despawn timer, meaning you don't have to pick the stack up until you leave, as long as you don't take a 5-10 minute afk break.
(this might also apply to the non-roof courses that recently got marks added because they also only have 1 spawning location, but who cares about those courses anyways tbh)
This was actually really insightful
yeah, i see a lot of people at ardy picking them up constantly
all those wasted ticks while i have a stack of 44 and counting going right now
Solid. Just got 90 agility and just wanna send laps
Did you know: the Pennance are a race of Chthonian demons
Then why can't I use arclight?
Did you know, there's a lot of The Elder Scrolls easter eggs around the game. Go and try to get them =]
Did you know: the barbarians have found a way to plant seeds without a dibber?
I'm seeing more and more people using dibbers every day xD
Did you know: The grouping interface offers a free teleport to a bunch of different locations once every 20 minutes!
I think tips like this are the best. short, succinct, offers a tiny bit of lore, introduces a lesser known (relatively recent update) game mechanic, and isn't overly technical or niche
many of the other tips people have provided above are just not appropriate for this delivery mechanism
many players playing OSRS are nostalgia enjoyers and may not be aware of small updates to older systems like barbarian farming
Did you know: although you get to keep your chinchonpas on death , your tecu salamanders still run away when you die?
Did you know: Clan ownership is automatically transferred to a Deputy Owner if the current owner doesn't log in for 90 days.
This transfer occurs automatically, and the Deputy Owner with the longest clan membership at that point takes over.
Wait really? I didn’t know that one
Yes, it's a genuine problem in our clan cuz we keep forgetting to sign into the CC account (speaking of...)
Did you know that Lunar Plank Making is a lot faster if you reorganize your Spellbook- Plank Make to the last one? Its a simple one click on the last log until you're done for faster XP/Hour.
Feels just like high alching.
Well I wish I knew that before making 26 thousand planks 😂
I mean that’s a plugin so doesn’t make sense here
Can’t reorder on base client
Also Plank Make 🤮
Its a plugin? No waaay lol! Then ignore previous
its still pretty useful but i thought it was a QOL thing?!
did you know; the dragon dagger spec rolls off an enemies slash defence, even if set to stab.
Thats all special attacks though, except burning claws, so it would probably be better to reword that in that sense
it's a bit more advanced than that too, all special attacks (excluding burning claws) roll vs a particular static defense style, but use the currently selected attacks style accuracy bonus still.
For example, bandos godsword always rolls vs slash defense, but if you have your attack style set to crush, it will use your crush accuracy rather than your slash accuracy
thats interesting. That seems like a big oversight
Did you know you can type 1m instead of 1000000 to have the same effect when withdrawing and depositing items from the bank saving time
^and the same when putting in purchase/sell prices in the GE
Did u know if u keep ur HP above 0 at all times that u cant die
Perfect for Hardcore Ironmen
Did you know that Cooking Pots are scattered all throughout the world that can be used to cook basic foods?
I only found this out because a friend told me to fish and cook in Catherby, and I was told the place to cook them was 'next to the bank' (right side)... Well, if you instead go to the left side of the bank into the Candle Shop, you'll also be able to cook your fish
Did you know you can save 15% or more on your car insurance by switching to Gieco
Did you know that salamanders are the only non-halberd weapon capable of dealing a melee attack across diagonal tiles
Did you know that Ranges have a reduced burn chance compared to other cooking appliances?
Thought that was only Lumbridge?
lumby range has an additional bonus to not burn
as do the ranges in hosidius iirc
Cooking on a range reduces the burn chance for certain foods. The range in Lumbridge Castle (referred to as the "Cook-o-matic 100"), which requires completion of Cook's Assistant to use, has an even lower burn rate for certain foods. Lastly, the clay ovens in the Hosidius Kitchen give the best reduction in burn rates, provided the player has completed the easy Kourend & Kebos Diary.
OSRS Wiki - https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Range
Most standard monsters calculate damage when they fire their attack, not when the attack animation actually hits your character.
Do those certain dishes include baked goods because baked goods cannot be made in pots
Can't have reduced burn rate than fire if you can't cook it on a fire 😛
This page lists the level you stop burning any food. Looks like some fish and meats have reduced burn chance on ranges, and lean snails have increased burn chance on ranges
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Cooking/Burn_level
Did you know that you can Right-Click on your clannie's Combat Achievement announcement in the chatbox to see which task it was and its description?
Did you know: when the 5 min timer of a divine potion or heart is up, you can sip a menaphite remedy to remove the timer and keep your stats boosted.
DID YOU KNOW: You can cast reanimation spells on an ensouled head as soon as it drops from the monster you have killed?
The head must not be banked and must be within a certain range of the tile the monster died at.
Did you know?
The first slayers were born in the Kharidian desert, after Tumeken's death.
Did you know: If you speak to the wise old man in draynor village he can remove useless quest junk from your bank
If you spam click herbs it will skip some animation and you will pick a little faster vs just click onec and wait.
Also workson allotmants
It’s better to click two clicks in a row, then stop clicking
Spam click harvests every other tick, two clicks then wait harvests 2 times every 3 ticks
wut.
Divine pots have a 5 min timer. When the timer is almost up, if you drink a menaphite remedy. It cancels the timer. But your stats remain boosted as if you drank a none divine pot. Its a good way to extend boosted stats in a cheap manner
does this last indefinitely?
No just slowly drains from there like a regular boosting pot
no shit...
Imma use this for slayer
For my AFK enjoyers, you can get 9 minutes of afk fishing with 1 click, dark crabs in wilderness resource area, with the fishing barrel and 54 dark crab bait, you can set a alarm for the door to let you know if a pker comes, i've never died doing this method and its still like 50k xp ph, if you somehow die, you keep every crab in the barrel too
Probably want wildy elite diary done for crab fishing to access the resource area with 0 coins
You can unnote bank-notes with any banker. You can also collect ge item purchases and proceeds from any bank.
Oo its tha good? Damn
i thought the fishing barrel had to be deposited at the bank?
I was banking every 10 min yes
DID YOU KNOW - The song "Into The Abyss" has a beat that lines up perfectly with the tick cycle - Try it when practicing movement!
thanks for this
np
Holy shit this is clutch
this is an insane game changer for ironman who use DDS at blood moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's still using your stab accuracy tho. It just rolls against the enemies slash def instead of stab def.
so keep that puppy on stab when speccing bloodmoon
For clues - you can use an Eastfloor spade in place of a regular spade. It’s a holiday item sold by Diango in Draynor Village anyone can get that’s untradeable. When used in the wilderness unlike a regular spade it won’t be protected over any item it’s deleted on death and can be replaced from the npc. It won’t count toward the 1/3 items if 3 iteming etc and its also a f2p item
Wtf, ty 🙏
TY
If you need ropes and planks in the early game, there are 2 ropes and 6 planks in shipwreck cove, which is just a short distance from quetzacalli gorge.
did you know: u can afk a entire game of cw with multiple accounts in game and still get rewarded for it
did u know u can hold CTRL to walk even while u have ur run on, and to run if you have your run off
helps at bosses where sometimes u need to run, sometimes walk, like vorkath i use CTRL to run from the big kaboomies
Did you know you can use 2 of the same pizza halves on each other to make a full pizza?
I think summer pies should work like this but they don't right?
No pies work like that
No way I swear I've tried in the past!
they 100% do not work like that, only pizzas can be combined
i read that as you saying "no no, pies do work like that" mb king shorty, this guy read it the same way i did smh
Did you know you can get rings of forging from Murky Matt in free to play, which guarantees you will smelt iron?
Did you know that the giant boss keys are twice as common in the wilderness?
They costa ruby ring and 250 gold each.
They also should be 1/16 at their respective bosses. The recent update allowed players to only need one key to unlock fighting the bosses.
Nice
Nice
Nice
Okay, so am I missing something or you can't combine 1/2 summer pies?
You cannot. There are no pies in the game which allow you to combine two halves into a whole one
The more you know
I did not know that lmao
The most efficient theiving xp thing I've found is the house keys for Civitas illa fortis.
Pickpocket Wealth Citizens for house keys x20 +/-, then pillage houses.
45 xp/second @ level 82 for me plus 630 each time the arrow-spot shows.
And you can get blessed bone statuettes for prayer, among other things.
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Stealing_valuables
Stealing valuables is a Thieving activity located in Civitas illa Fortis, requiring level 50 Thieving and completion of Children of the Sun to participate. The activity involves obtaining house keys in order to steal valuables from one of three houses inhabited by wealthy citizens. These valuables can then be sold to Oriana for profit.
The acti...
its like 100k xp/hr +/- depending on how many keys you have, how efficiently you loot houses in rotation, etc
I wouldn’t call that efficient
for the amount of actually paying attention required, in terms of clicking, its super-easy on the hands and decently fast
Well, what's better? 😛
minigames, but many of them are click-intensive
this method is pretty much a relaxing click-minimal method where you can tab-out for music, chats, etc
Ive done many of the other theiving stuff to get this far, and this method seems so relaxing and easy
sorceress garden is a real fun theif thing, as well as pyramid plunder
and rogue's den is decently entertaining
Cool! Maybe I'll steal some valuables down the line 😎
over time, doing this will add a nice little pile of money, as well as getting a ton of blessed bone shards for prayer xp that I badly need.
Blessed bone shards are used to make sacrifices at the libation bowl at the Teomat. Each bone shard sacrificed gives 5 Prayer experience with blessed wine, or 6 experience with blessed sunfire wine.
To make sacrifices, the libation bowl must be filled with jugs of blessed wine or jugs of blessed sunfire wine, and the player must have at least 2 ...
at fastest speed, I still need 3.9m prayer xp to go 82-92 lol
Blackjacking, pretty much all other forms of pickpocketing, pyramid plunder, dorgesh-kaan rich chests, rogues chests, stealing artifacts, even sorceress’ garden
Varlamore thieving is like
Bottom of the barrel thieving training xp-wise
Only snowflake account content like stall thieving and ardy chests is worse
Ok! 🙂
Varlamore thieving is viable if you don’t mind using time that could easily be used to afk more useful things on it but the xp rate is garbage
Like a third of efficient xp rates
its relaxing while doing other stuff on internet like chats/music/other
never said was the best method, just something decently easy
yea, I should have qualified my 'most efficient' with easy and non-click intensive semi-afk relaxing thing
efficiency < enjoyment of the game
Ye I'm gonna steal some valuables
every 10k valuables stolen = 550k cash. not huge, but its alright for such an easy method
650k if you have the proper prestige at the colluseum
Extremely small cash. Either way, use the words you actually mean.
yea yea, grammar police on patrol lul
Not grammar, you meant basically the opposite of what you wrote
in 2 days i got 2 lvls... thats more than i done in months
and i actually enjoyed it
my big cash thing is boring as hell tbh. alching addy items i smith
slowly working up to next 5k bars worth of junk
You sound fun to be around lol
If we’re going to give advice to people, I don’t want the wrong message to be conveyed
Especially for a statement going as far as, “the most efficient”
@thorny finch
@queen aspen
this kinda chat is better suited for a thread instead of in open chat considering what the channel is about. Otherwise it would be fine.
I don’t really intend to say anything more, I wasn’t the one that brought it back up lmao
If you're learning PvM and want to improve, here's some tips to begin:
Consistency - You need to begin building muscle memory on content. This mostly refers to inventory management (for gear switching), but it also include other things. You can customise your prayer locations, but once you've done it, try to stick to it. Similar to Magic spells, you can filter spells and customise sizes, but again try and stick to those layouts.
In terms of inventory - different content may start to require more and more gear items in your inventory. Use Bank Tabs / Bank Tab Layouts to create a loadout for different activities, and try to design the loadout so that the gear types, food / potions / miscellenous items are in similar positions throughout. For example, have gears on the top of the inventory, special weapons at the bottom. You want to build an instinctive reflex to the correct positions when switching gear.
For Gear switching - pick a method. Horizontal zigzagor Verticle zigzag. This is mostly preference, but there are pros to picking one. Horizontal usually lets you keep equipment in the similar places when you switch them, especially if you're switching from 2handed weapons to 1 handed + shield/defender. The downside is you'd have to push your mouse up and down, which generally is more awkward for people to get used to. Verticle zigzag means you're moving the mouse left and right with the wrist, whilst continously moving the mouse downwards in a smooth pattern. However, as an example, when you switch from a sword and shield to shortbow, the sword replaces the shortbow in the same position, but the shield becomes a 'new' item in the inventory and populates the first available empty slot starting from the top left, priotising going right before goin down. TLDR - you sometimes might have your offhand at a weird position.
What you want to avoid:
Try not to deviate from how you're switching gear. Even if you want to do your own method (like doing no zigzag down/up), make sure you try to do it consistently. If you miss a piece of equipment, finish your gear switch before going back to correct it.
Also, you can search items in your bank tabs directly onto the GE
I dont think that'll fit in the chatbox when you log in
i... dont understand what you mean about chatbox. If theres something in there you can tell me about it in #old-school so we dont clutter this channel up 🙂
They want the did you know tips for a short message to be added to the game when you log in 🙂 You may summarize it much shorter
Wasn't aware of that, and I read the channel description. I just figured this is another space for tips, but noted for the future
Its an amazing tip, because im learning pvm myself
The zigzag is super nice because i have it linear? I'll give it a go
this is a game changer
Did you know: You can click or tap your map compass to look North.
WHAT
And can also right-click to look the other cardinal directions
Did you know: You can make private messages appear above the chatbox with a setting.
Did you know: The best teleport in the game is clay tablet: teleport to house. 1-click to the safest location possible, except past level 20 wilderness. Requires Player-Owned House.
Even if you die just as you teleport or seconds after you appear inside the player-owned house, it simply deposits you outside your portal with full health, and no dropped items. Particularly useful if you are poisoned or otherwise and do not have an antipoison/venom/cure/otherwise.
Did you know: If you enter/exit your PoH it clears all your poison/venom.
oh nice, so that makes my tip even better
With ground items plugin, double tap your 'Alt' key hides all ground items. Press 'Alt' again and it'll reveal. Useful at long PvM trips / slayer tasks.
Did you know you can right click the "deposit lock settings" button to quickly toggle inventory locks
There's a few chat shortcuts you can do.
/ = friend chat
// = clan chat
/g = GIM chat
You can also set the chat mode so you dont have to constantly type the slashes. Either by manually clicking the type of chat itself, or type:
/@f = friend chat
/@c = clan chat
/@g = GIM chat
Finally, type /@p to revert to public chat
Did you know,
You can look up things on the wiki through in-game chat commands. Try it out like this:
::wiki abyssal whip
Type ::displayfps in game to display FPS on official client. Useful for you guys who want to test the new render. Official client should be uncapped fps.
Thank you so much for this!
If you're using runelite, normally it automatically screenshot certain milestones for you, including quest completions, level ups, raid chests, deaths and more. You can right click the little camera icon at the top right, go to screenshot folder and check in there. Each screenshot is dated.
As a recent runelite convert, I think I've noticed that it will screenshot a level up whenever its not your active windows. I've been looking at the wiki in chrome only to get a screenshot notification for level 6 fletching😂
Gz
yes, if you invite someone from tutorial island, you only lose "prestige" but stay as a ranked GIM. If you invite someone after they have left tutorial island, you become an unranked GIM (which means you're no longer on the leaderboards)
I don’t think HC can
for corrupted gauntlet, what tips do u guys have to have consistent sub 9min kills, seems like im hovering around 9:30-10:30 for my total time to complete a cg on avg
@unreal quiver @glossy bolt for future reference, use #game-questions to ask questions. This channel's catered to people posting tips and you wont get answers as quickly here
JayJay knows.
How do you customize prayer locations? Is it a runelite plugin? I was searching for “prayer reordering” and didn’t see anything.
right click the prayer icon ingame, enable prayer filtering (choose to only show certain prayers) and prayer recordering (choose where to position them)
Thank you. I appreciate the help.
There’s a crashed star at Corsair cove w435 requiring 80 mining if anyone here is interested!
Did you know: Always carry a clean herb of your choice in your inventory.
When the Dr. Jeckyll random event occurs, you will get a potion based on the herb you carry.
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Jekyll_and_Hyde
Jekyll and Hyde is a random event in which Dr Jekyll appears and urgently asks the player for help. If talked to, he requests a clean herb of the player. If the player has a herb in their inventory, he will take it and give them a potion, but if the player has no herbs he will give the player a Strength potion (2) before disappearing. He will no...
That's slowflake ironman tech only
But could still be a tip about the random event itself
Like, "Did you know that the Dr. Jekyll random event will give you various potions in exchange for different cleaned herbs?"
it is. I usually forget to carry my herb, and end up missing out on good potions as a result.
This is as much a reminder to myself on my main, non-ironman character, as it is for anyone else.
Is that not literally what they just said? 💁♀️
No, their tip was to "Always carry a clean herb"
I would especially stray away from telling people explicitly "do this" in a "Did you know?" tip on login
It is close to the second part of what he said, but the wording matters
There's not really any potions worth wasting an inventory slot on, even on an ironman.
It's fine to acknowledge it as an option but saying, "Always do this" is very extreme and wrong
Dawg there’s no way you people in this server are real.
None of this is real, it's all a schizophrenic delusion. Take your medication, your lamp is starting to look weird
you really are kind of an ignorant guy, huh... Potions are always useful, which is why i posted this
[[Grand exchange]]
Wiki links found:
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Grand_Exchange
*free potions
What potions are useful
I'm new
I've not really found a need for them yet
Other than antipoison for farming lizardmen for that darn necklace
It's not free if you waste an entire inventory slot carrying around an herb indefinitely
Inventory space is invaluable
10k every 20 hours of gameplay is not remotely worth it
stamina potions are quite useful for questing, since they allow you to run for a verylong time, which you get for having a torstol in inventory
Oh is this justification for the Jekyl thing
ok, I get it, you are mr know it all and high and mighty...
for everyone else, my tip is actually kind of useful
Yeah that inventory slot is worth more than that ngl
It's not useful for anyone with more than 10k gp in their bank or the capability to make more than 10k gp/hr (literally everyone)
If you want potions just bring potions for a specific task ong
Just pick some potatoes and you're golden

TBH, really was. I never knew that. I’ve always ignored him because I always thought it was just a random herb choice. Not that I’ll ever use this. But would’ve been pretty big in the early game. Though, my inventory was always full, never a free slot to keep one little herb. Dude might’ve been right. 😔
I use this random to his full value everytime, especially when im just out woodcutting for fishing, or some other basically boring, non-essential task
free potions are always useful, and rather than not getting his full value each time he arrives, I take the best he has
Yeah, for sure. Can I get potions I don’t have the level for?
you can get any potion you have the corresponding herb for, even if you cannot make them
you just have to have the right clean herb
Eh, I just looked at the table. Torstols would probably be the best for any ironman.
I keep a stack of clean torsol for this specific reason, stamina potions are great
then I carry one around when im just out doing stuff, such as fishing, woodcut, etc
Nice. Might have to get a few of them for things. But I’m also at like 74 herb I think and it’s only 77 for staminas? So meh.
right, but I have like 200 stamina potions now, and i still cant make them myself, so those free stock has been quite nice to have
been doing that since way early on in my character's path of travel
sometimes i forget though, hence the tip
for me, stamina potions are a time-savings on running around on quests, and when I can get them free, I take it everytime I remember to have the herb
Did you know: completing Throne of Miscellania unlocks one of the most useful features of the game? You get to own and manage your own kingdom and receive resources every 7 days (or longer if you choose) provided you upkeep the kingdom. See the quest guide for details!
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Managing_Miscellania
Managing Miscellania is a repeatable reward/activity unlocked with the completion of the Throne of Miscellania quest. The activity involves assigning the citizens of the island of Miscellania (and additionally Etceteria after the completion of Royal Trouble) to collect a mixture of different resources available on the island/s. Resources may be...
There’s also a follow up quest. It reduces the amount of coins taken out of the coffer per day, the degradation of your followers support, and the max limit of recourse allocations. Not too sure on that last part, but I’m pretty sure.
2nd quest increases worker count from 10 to 15
I haven't collected in like 2 months so far. Probably gonna leave it for another 4 months till I collect, then it should be quite a sizable free bounty of goods, as a cost of 75k/day, which is pennies compared to the time savings of them collecting all that junk for me. =]
I heard the number of seeds are limited, if you have it on herbs. Like you’re only allowed so many seeds of each type. Whether you get them in two days in ten days you can’t get more until collecting? Not sure how accurate this is though.
not sure, but I don't run farming as one of the resource options, just woodcutting, mining, and herbs
all those free maples does wonders for my firemaking skill, and the coal allows me to focus on primary ores like adamantite, so i can make bars a lot
oh, derp, you said herbs, never done any testing on the seed counts. I just take whatever they give me and count my blessings
I’d recommend just doing Windertodt, if you can stand it. There’s much better options for the kingdom and fire making.
Fair enough. Same here.
Did you know
You can avoid dying? Click food.
Even for an ironman, the only time where this might be good is if you're gathering Staminas for pool. Losing an inventory slot in exchange for a potential potion from a random event that you might not get for days or weeks is not worth it. I'd say your tip is useful to know for early ironmen, but "always carry" is what some people have a problem with in your tip.
Did you know: Once you've done Ratcatchers quest, you can use the minigame teleport to Rat Pits. This gives you very close teleports to:
Ardougne bar near the Two-Pints (Diary cape NPC and cluescroll step) and a lot of the elven quest stuff
Varrock inside the gated area for the costume shop / Aubury runes shop
Keldagrim (though there's blast furance tele already)
Port Sarim right next to the docks.
didja know that you can unlock a faster home/minigame teleport from the speedrunning world rewards (bis home teleport animation btw)?
in general, the house teleport is the best teleport in the game. poh is the safest location in the game, even if you are poisoned/otherwise
im talking about home/minigame teleports
any tips for jad
Don't run out of prayer
did you know that the polar camo set is a quick way for new accounts to get a weight-reducing set? they're a level-1 hunter creature and 4 furs and 40 coins can be turned into the top and bottom at Asyff's fine clothing in Varrock!
up = mage stomp = range :]
its highly advised for ironmen if they want stamina pots because lvl 72/73/77 herb takes a lot
for the poh
quests alone will get you to 66 herb, not even including the 2.5k/7.5k/15k xp lamps from easy/medium/hard achiev diaries (except karamja I think)
Yeah herb is mostly a personal issue
It's not that hard to get 77
Or boost range to 77
It's at least as easy as getting the con level for the poh
IMO i did herb to 72 and boosed but it would have been way ea<sier to do jekyll, since i got like 25 random events
and everytime i was like
fuck i dont have the herb
Kill all but one healer and distract them asap. If they fully heal jad then they'll respawn again.
Hi. I am currently working on the last quest for RFD - the monkey one. But I need a gorilla geegree but the guards dont drop any bones. Am i missing something here? Any dyk tips
You should probably ask in #game-questions or #old-school
Hi, did you know, that if you click on "sew patchy" in mos le harmless he will sew together items.
Yeah? nice.
But I bet you didn't know that he won't do the "big hat & eye patch" even if you have the correct items in your inventory. 😡
there are plenty of banks you can run to when you get a Jekyll random, you don’t need to actually have the herb in your inventory 24/7
Although entering some banks will automatically dismiss a random event. But the Jekyll event is still not worth wasting an inventory slot for
Or double eye patches
hard to describe how much I love this guide

you can use the quest speedrunning worlds to fight jad in one of the challenges so you can try the fight without having to go through all the waves first.
@sardaco
Did you know that the protagonist of the quest "Scrambled!" would be very happy in the associated quarters of your player owned house?
did u know clicking the "use" option when right clicking a plank sack with the bank open will fill it up (idk why they didnt name it fill)
did u know u can use karambwanji as a stackable fish to feed cats
did u know u can alch non-reusable jewellery when it has 1 charge left and it will still give u the same amount of money as if it was fully charged
did u know if u want easy clogs u can sell items back for points at barbarian assault, castle wars and some other minigames
Did you know that you can extinguish the darkness in the Zamorak Encampment of the God Wars Dungeon with a Saradomin's Light? Just "use" it in the dark area and it will brighten up permanently.
Did you know that Snowy Knights only weigh 0.02 kg each, while a karambwan weighs 0.65 kg? Meaning that if you want tick eating food, or food that doesn't delay your attacks as an Ironman, you may as well use Snowy Knights in situations where run energy is an issue, like questing. Not to mention how much easier it is to stockpile Snowy Knights over Karambwans, with much lower requirements. Bonus: Did you know Snowy Knights are not seen as food items, and so taking them into Mort Myre is completely safe? Great for Barrows runs or questing in Morytania.
Did you know: if a small spider aggros on you in the Haunted Woods (like a stray dog), its what causes a level-72 feral vampire to appear. If you don't want them to spawn, keep away from the spiders!
Are you implying that food takes longer to eat if it's heavy?
Sounds like they're saying you can run for longer with snowy knights than karambwans.
Did you know if you put some kits on specific items, your death charge will be cheaper since it's an untradeable item? It goes with you instead of the gravestone. I know some people know this, but it's super helpful for players learning PvM
Weight reduction helps with questing, an inventory of Snowy Knights doesn't even add one kg. An inventory of karambwans add 18. Plus, Snowy Knights are essentially free, one butterfly jar costing either 1 or 2 gp depending on how many you buy per world, while karambwans cost 110 ea. The only benefit of karambwans is +3 healing and that you can buy them in bulk, but you still need to cook them, and they can burn, so for lower level ironmen, you may as well get Snowy Knights that also train your hunter skill, which after the release of the Hunter's Guild and hunter rumors is a very valuable skill to have anyway.
Did you know: You can use a spade on a spirit tree in your player owned house to rotate it without rotating the entire room
You can buy bwans cooked and you can also buy gnome food for questing too. That food is real fun.
I used a lot of gnome food for early quests.
Can double eat it too
Gnome food sounds interesting. However, anything you buy is bound to take time in early game for moneymaking, so Snowy Knights would still be better I believe. Plus, given how good hunter rumors are, you probably want to trade out 50 firemaking for 46 hunter in the early game now, so levelling hunter while getting one of the best early game foods in the game is pretty good.
Karambwans are probably better for certain bosses, but for general questing, I think Snowy Knights are better. Especially when questing in Mort Myre.
Go to #old-school or #ironman for questions, this isn't really what this channel is for
Not really for the stuff above either - this is meant for the one-to-two-line blurbs the game gives you on login
Not really room for explanation or nuance to strategy or stuff like, "this item is better than this item"
You may not be able to cast High Alchemy on Yama contracts, but some shops will still buy them for what they'd be worth.
Not sure how widely known this is, but
did you know you can spamclick herb and allotment patches to farm them faster? (after you stop spamclicking)
Also compost -> seed will be faster than seed -> compost 🙂
Hop on over at #1391372405066301550 and make a post, and lets see how we can help you out there.
i did zike thank you
Apparently even some GMs I have asked dont know this mechanic.
Thralls have a base timer based on your magic level. Now since the update, 120 seconds for Master CA's at 99 magic. Those thrall timers can be increased further depending on your magic level.
If you use saturated heart at 99 magic (112) your thrall timer increases to 134 seconds.
Salted in toa increases thrall uptime to 150 seconds at 99 magic with master CA's. Having basically a 2 1/2 minute thrall timer for one cast.
Make sure you prepot saturated heart if you are using thralls 🙂
Did you know? Pressing Control makes the Ground Items Overlay appear regardless of your current settings with Ground Items Value Threshold.
This will show all items on the ground within view, along with their timers, ge value, and options to ignore/highlight for each item.

idk who needs to hear this but med helms and sq shields exist in the game because their niche is that they dont subtract ranged attack like the kite shields do or full helms
ur welcome
u can make goofy low end gear setups that utilize them for tankier ranged setups
You can use the polar kebbit top and legs on a fresh account for early game weight reduction; you can also pick up the boots of lightness provided you have a light source and a knife without starting the quest for a total of -7.5kg, penance gloves can also be obtained (requiring 40 defence) but with a hefty -4.5kg weight reduction.
Did you know the servers got ddosed like 30 minutes ago
Did you know they released an update for the Frog random event. You can get xp lamps for the tokens.

Did you know? Achievement Diaries are the most powerful, valuable, and expansive content in the game, and completing each unlocks a wide array of boosts, extras, and otherwise. To explore the Achievement Diaries, click here: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Achievement_Diary
The Achievement Diary (also known as Diaries) is a one-off set of tasks and challenges exclusive to members that can be completed to obtain rewards and various benefits. Did you know? One of the fastest methods of using the Ectofuntus, for buckets of slime, bone grinding, and praying the bonemeals, can be unlocked after completing the quest A Taste of Hope. Using the Ectophile and the Drakan's Medallion, you have infinite teleports each item, with the first landing you at the Ectfuntus and the other landing you at the Theater of Blood near the bank, making laps go by very fast.
I wouldn't say that a mediocre bank teleport has anything to do with the Ectofuntus specifically
makes fast banking with minimal running
which is what usually makes ecto method such a slog
this takes away like 90% of the running
also, the unlimited teleports makes it cost nothing
So your tip is that when you're banking, you should use a good bank teleport? Seems weird to pick like a very mediocre bank teleport to say something way more complicated than you need to
the tip is that it unlocks a cost-free method that is as fast or faster than all other of the ecto methods
A ring of dueling costs 650 gp. Less than 100 gp is well worth the time saved.
I wouldn't recommend people waste time to save less than 100 gp on a bad method to begin with
people will do the morytania content either way, this just points out one of those quests can save you money later
Then it would make way more sense to just point out that the Drakan's medallion can teleport you to Ver Sinhaza
which i did... theater of blood...
Yes but you're putting two completely unrelated subjects together
And I wouldn't call it a good bank teleport either because it's not very good for that either
The money you save is negligible
Time > money, especially when you get to negligible costs like that
lol, you are a funny guy... anything I post, you crap on... welcome to the ignore llist... tired of arguing with a low iq

did you know you can get more than 5 clue scroll boxes at a time from Kingdom?
Did you know you can eat a food item, drink a potion, eat a karambwan on the same tick if done in that exact order?
(From memory not exactly as seen in game)
This is true.
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Food/Fast_foods
The best version of this combo is Anglerfish, Saradomin Potion, and Karambwan, since the fishing update that added this fish. Heals something like up to 55, if 99 hp
There's already a Did you Know? tip about this with karambwans and food, could do with a similar one including potions I guess
Mantas and Dark crabs are better until 92 health because they always heal 22. Combo eating can't utilise the angler's overhealing so it's better to overheal at the bank then use whatever's cheapest in combat whenb you have 93+ HP.
Oh, that is interesting, nice one. So noted.
Thanks! It might change once Sailing drops cause a bunch of food passed a poll. Karambwan should be replaced by Halibut as the later heals 2 HP more. Bluefin Tuna heals 22 but also restores 5 prayer. Marlin will heal 24 HP but doesn't have an effect. So combo eating will heal either 60 HP or 58 and 5 pray points.
Did you know you can turn off "did you know" tips in settings?
And also change the message colour
Maybe to both? I'm not an expert on that.
prayer boost seems too good to use anything else
its like carrying extra prayer potions without actually carrying extra prayer potions
I can see myself using these combined with the bone necklace at slayer for that +5 and +4 prayer respectively (bone neck gives prayer when burying bones)
Yeah. My issue is that marlin can heal up to 56 health per inventory. Maybe they'll be better for different things. Marlin could be used where prayer isn't needed. Something like Wintertodt before the update. Dunno if you still use food there as I haven't tried it since.
Did you know? Despite being an invertebrate, Venenatis will drop bones upon death.
Did you know If you get disconnected during a Raid at the Chambers of Xeric, as long as there is another ranked member in the Clan Chat online, you can log back into the same World and join back into the raid.
Did you know? There is a setting in the Bank settings and on the Bank Deposit interface that lets you lock slots in your inventory so their content doesn't get deposited.
This tip is useful for so many activities, especially ones where you are doing the same thing many hundreds of times, such as filling buckets of slime at ectofuntus, while holding the ectophile. Makes banking very quick on long, long tasks like this.
DYK? Advertising or running private OSRS servers violates TOS? You should report them as 'encouraging rule breaking'.

idk man
Did you know? You can long press any of the Spirit Anglers to leave a Tempoross fight faster once it has ended.
Very helpfull if you're grinding it and want so save up couple seconds
Did you know? The pet rock can be used in place of a 2nd player within the Waterberth Dungeon to open the 2-player doorways. This allows you to solo the kings. Remember to bring your rune throwing axes to use the special attack to break the 3-player doorway above the ladder!
Yowuddup. You can create isolated shacks in your POH by deleting connecting rooms, something which the house viewer is unable to do itself.
You can also use the agility shortcut at 85 Agility,
You can move the rooms too.
less people have 85 agility than that of the number that own the pet rock.
Yeah.
Yowuddup. All daggers (includes Keris, wolfbane, and Dark dagger) have a magic attack and magic defence bonus. Daggers get +1. Keris gets +2. Then, randomly the Shadow Sword, a 2 handed weapon, gets +4 magic attack and defence.
This is already in the list of tips that show in-game.
That's covered in the channel's description.
Did you know? The official server's list of "Did you know?" can be found here: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Did_you_know%3F
They must've changed it, originally this was explicitly a channel to create more of those tips
hopefully, by next year, lots of these player-made 'did you know?' comments will get added to the official list
It still is. They let us post known ones. Maybe because we kept posting them.
Did you know? You can cast Superheat to cook the Marinated Jogre Bones used in the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest.
Wish I knew that when I did that quest... Nice one.
Yowuddup. Certain permanent fires across Gielinor can be temporarily converted into forester fires for a further simplified FM training experience. One example is the fire next to the bank outside of the Volcanic Mine. Good seating too!
Thats not really for this space. This is for in game help tips akin to the did you know system on login.

Did you know? Levelling Mining, Smithing, and Fletching fairly high, and banking the resources, can provide you all the ranged ammo you will ever need at super low-cost, since you gather most, if not all, the resources used.
Did you know? You can own and manage your own Kingdom! Upon completion of Throne of Miscellania, you are granted this kingdom to manage, which is a wonderful passive source of resources. You can further increase this value by completing Royal Trouble as well. That's more of an iron account thing. Mains can just buy them. It's more efficient.
I often make my own ammo. Mostly cause I have all the materials in my bank at this point. And I get tons of free feathers from the maze random, which pile-up over time.
Did you know? Going through Hajedy's entire dialogue for travel to Shilo Village will usually result in a greatly reduced fare compared to his Quick-Travel option.
Do you know the difference in cost?
It varies, depending on how much gp is currently in your inventory.
I'll test this out next osrs leagues
Karamja has so much good D.Y.K. factoids.
using low tier ammunition is going to lose u a ton of max hits, and is going to make the grind longer. use the best ammo u can use generally. if training ofc u can go down a few tiers but I wouldn't use low tier ammo 👍
if ur a main ur trolling rlly using anything under rune, and as a iron ur trolling using anything under adamant / broad (depending on where you're in prog)
I use all types of ammo, depending on where I am training...
Some ammo types I save for questing, some I save for high-end npc's, lower stuff I use for lesser/general training, some ammo I use because it is disposable and cheap...
It all depends on what I am doing, and unlike most players, I don't always only go for the most efficient xp rates/max hits.
Do you switch to an iron sword when killing lower tier monsters with melee too?
Effectively what you’re doing
I think you didn't finish what you were typing.
I did finish
I was saying by using trash ammo he’s effectively switching to an iron sword
If you wouldn’t do that for melee, why do it for ranged
Oh. I didn't realize. Thanks.
You should be exclusively using Amethyst or the highest ammo you can use. If you use addy over rune, you use lose 36% of the ranged str bonus. It goes up to 43% if you can use Amethyst. Lower tiered ammo makes that go up to an 87% decrease if you use bronze.
I understand that cheaper/free ammo (from drops/making it/etc) sounds good but it isn't worth the DPS decrease. You could use rune if you're low on funds.
Kinda fashionscaper: Starting from 78 wc, you will attain the same # of logs chopping an oak tree with an adamant axe as you would chopping it with anything greater
Aurascaping
If anyone was curious. On a 1 def pure barrage clumping(occasional range) bots at rogue castle is ~3.3+/hr without deaths, including banking and occasional escape from pkers. Did sample run with minimal risk, looting bag required as keys stack too quick. (i just turned off loot keys and manually looted into bag). probably room for efficiency and improvement. Basic setup is Ancient staff for auto casting, and whatever mage gear you care to use.
add dds and crystal bow and you got a pretty cheap multi-style pk set for the rest of us, sounds alright
Did you know? The maze at Sotetseg, when active, will never be safe on the Southwest-most tile.
Did you know? Players can attune imbued tiaras to the Hat of the Eye to allow it to function as one. This includes the catalytic tiara and the elemental tiara, allowing access to multiple altars simultaneously. All copies of the Hat of the Eye, including those of a different colour, will then be attuned to that tiara (including those stored in the magic wardrobe). The tiara is not consumed in this manner, and the attunement can be freely switched by using a different tiara. Players can use the hat's right-click "Check" option to see which type of tiara it is currently attuned to.

The hat can be recoloured using abyssal dye (received from the Rewards Guardian) to a red, blue, or green colour s...
Me at ge fr
Good eye. You see to the arrow thing I mentioned?
I dont always use top tier, in fact, sometimes i use as low as steel, all depends, but most times is addy
it usually varies by how fast or efficient i feel like killing stuff
Im definitely not the average player in that regard
I meant what I said about it.
You should be exclusively using Amethyst or the highest ammo you can use. If you use addy over rune, you use lose 36% of the ranged str bonus. It goes up to 43% if you can use Amethyst. Lower tiered ammo makes that go up to an 87% decrease if you use bronze.

I'm just trying to help.
did you know you can right click the compass to change direction of view instantly...20 years playing and just noticed
That was a more recent update. It released in November 2021. You're not that out of the lop.
The Minimap (also called mini-map in RuneScape documentation) is the area of the game interface in the upper-right of the screen. It shows a bird's eye view of the player's surrounding area, with the player at the centre.
The minimap appears as an approximately circular area with a 19 square-length radius (see below). White lines represent walls...
Yowuddup. The sulphur vents in the tzhaar area act as permanent fires. Can't cook logs or pies though. A permanent fire you can convert into a foresters fire is the fire outside of the Volcanic Mine. There are permanent fires that act as a range as well. This includes the fire outside Tempoross and the fire you build on Fossil Island.
Did you's know if you kill a cow they drop what is called a "cowhide". Don't disregard this! If you take it to a particular chap in Al Kharid he will turn this cowhide into Leather! Leather can then be used to make some of the best in slot gear for fashionscape.
Did you know? Completing the quest Rum Deal rewards one of the most valuable prayer boosting items in the game, the Holy Wrench.
This item increases the total prayer points gained by drinking a dose of prayer potion, super restore, or sanfew serum, making them more effective per dose.

Did You Know? A bird nest falling to the ground has a 1/250 chance to play the Armadyl Crossbow special attack noise instead of its standard sound effect. Perfect for jumpscaring!
youre welcome. that was my doing.
Lmfao
You caused my jumpscare at work yesterday.
Please make it louder next time. Other than that, no notes
Did you know? Cooked moonlight antelope is amazing at the alchemical hydra - it negates the need for antipoisen as it cures poisen apon eating, and the extra health it provides comes in handy at a boss where your main source of damage is mistakes
it's the 2nd heal that cures the poison
When using magic to fight the Giant Mole, it will not dig if a spell splashes.
Did You Know? Runic Altars are supposed to having a glowing animation that illuminates them, but due to a bug it only occurs once upon entering, instead of on a constant loop. Keep your eyes peeled next time you try runecrafting!
Did you know? If u speak to Zandar Horfyre on the top floor of the dark wizards tower, west of falador, and when he tells you to go away, you say no, he will teleport you to the lumbridge swampa
Did you know: there are rat traps objects that exist in the rat pits that are able to be loaded with cheese. The cheese can also be taken off of the trap but will harm the player 3 dmg. Additionally, ironmen can take from the trap regardless of who put it in, effectively allowing mains to transfer cheese to ironmen accounts for free.
Ok thats really interesting lmfao
Would have been a sick mechanic for rat traps to do something at Scurry
Cheese is the new currency is all im hearing
Did you know that various activities have chat-channels built into the game through the Grouping tab?
Did you know? There are objects that exist in game called hatstands, and you can use almost any helmet slot item on them. This causes it to display the message "Oops - it fell off the hatstand!", and fall on the ground next to it. There are currently 51 locations in the game with a hatstand according to the wiki.
I remember training slayer and range back in the days, using bronze arrows at 85+ range lol. I guess the game has changed (it was more affordable back then)
This one might be more known but figured I would share:
Did you know? Chinchompa accuracy is based on both attack style used as well as distance from the target. Each style (short fuse, medium fuse, etc) has an ideal distance you should stand from the target in order to gain the full accuracy bonus. For example, when using medium fuse, you should always try to stand between 4-6 tiles away from the target to maximize accuracy, anything outside this range will suffer a 25% reduced accuracy penalty.
This is not super relevant since usually combat with chinchompas usually involves fighting NPCs with low defence (i.e. maniacal monkeys at MM2 caves) and it's difficult to stack them while also maintaining the 4-6 tile range.
Today I learned that you can use the Explorer's ring on a item to cast the alchemy spell on that item. wow.
I've purged a lot of messages here to clean things up a bit and get back on track with "Did you know?" tips.
As a note, please only make contributions here that are Confirmed to be true and refrain from posting speculation, rumours, or any other sort of hearsay. This is to prevent any misinformation being posted to confuse new users
Good. We needed the purge. I'd mention the question askers but prolly not worth your trouble. I'll just tag them and mention the #game-questions channel.
Did you know? there is a location in the mort myre swamp that has 8 objects to potentially spawn stems, pears, and fungus. Standing on the correct tile puts you in range of; 3 Rotting Logs(Fungus), 3 Rotting Branches(Stems), and 2 Small Bushes(Pears). You can fill your druid pouches really quickly with even a single cast of bloom. it's located at about the halfway point between the swamp entrance and the druid's grove, on the coast. I'd include an image but it seems I can't here haha. I'll post the image in #game-questions with relevant keywords to search. below is the link to the message in question#game-questions message
You can use Imgur until you can.
did you know you can hit the esc key to close any interface including the bank tab. Makes bank standing skilling way better
What about the inane rambles that don't really advise people and wouldn't fit into the welcome message in game, like purplemagis one
Your choice to call their overly descriptive tip as "inane rambles" is not helpful. A more strict criteria for what is suitable for this channel may be worked on in the future.
Did you know that there is no listed item on the Grand Exchange that has the word "Star" in it?
Did you know? Snelms (helmets made from snail shells) reduce damage taken from snail type creatures by 4.
Did you know you can trap two animals with a single dead fall trap? Tease one animal, build a trap, jump over it, tease another animal, before the first animal dies, jump back and voila!
Did you know the Dragonfire Shield Special is the only known attack in OSRS to use both npc and player code for accuracy? Npc dragonfire code when used on players and player-magic code when used on npcs
Wait really?
yep u may need to update ur game settings to check off the "use esc key for interfaces" tho
Oh cool!
Adding on to your tip, I remapped a side button on my mouse to esc for even lazier bankstanding :) space is on the other one for make-x
Did You Know? The Shifters in the Pest Control minigame are one of the few monsters capable of making melee attacks diagonally.

Did you know? You can buy a S.T.A.S.H. Chart from Watson for 500 gold and then build it in your player-owned house in the study on the wall chart hotspot to have the chart in your house rather than having to travel to Watson's House to see what stash units you have built and filled, as well as their locations. Did you know? The staircases in Lumbridge Castle, the Grand Tree and Lighthouses have a right-click option to go directly to the top or bottom floor!
I've deleted the recent tip about Hueycoatl not necessarily because its wrong but because its a given.
More damage = more rewards. The cave parts have 250 hp each so having 250 less damage than your teammates that got 500 each would of course even out the rewards.
That works for the Grand Tree and lighthouse staircases.
The Lighthouse. Thanks for correcting me.
when facing eclipse moon and you seem to struggle with dead clicks or ur character rotating but not hitting it back try my method.
instead of clicking under the clone to retaliate, click around your character to turn it towards the clone it needs to hit.
this method single handedly made my clone hitting rate 100% and is also much faster than moving ur mouse around the whole area.
As per wiki wording:
"You must face your character toward each clone as it spawns to prevent damage."
Which means all u gotta do is rotate ur character, clicking under the clones is the wrong way of doing it.
If you deal a killing blow to the Corporeal Beast's dark core as it jumps, it will not respawn for the rest of the fight.
You know you did it correctly when it dies without leaving ashes behind. If using melee, click to attack and immediately click to run away (when you see the exp drop). Alternatively, kill it with a slow moving projectile (Tumeken's shadow) to give yourself a few extra ticks to move. Don't bother wasting cannonballs or weird bolts.
Did you know? Yama's attack also act as a "check" for phase transition. Once he reaches 67/34% hp (76/51% during contracts) or below and attacks, his second "attack" will instead send you to Judge of Yama, meaning you get to attack 2 times between the check and transition (1-2 hits during contract).
will edit to include those, haven't made it to those yet lol

Did you know that while most people combo eat using cooked karambwans, you can also use gnome food as well? Any of the hand made or premade gnome foods can be used, such as chocolate bombs, worm battas, etc.
And while we are on the topic of gnome food, did you know about the gnome restaurant token? It is a reward from the gnome restaurant minigame that can be used to summon a gnome delivery driver to you (literally OSRS Uber eats) anywhere in the game to give you food. You can store up to ten pieces of food before it caps out and can potential provide you up to 150 HP worth of healing in one inventory slot
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Reward_token_(Gnome_Restaurant)
is there an npc that does it
Same one that decants your potions at the GE
pogg
You can't decant pizzas to one dose though
Did you know? Along with North, right-clicking or hold-pressing the compass next to the map gives you the option to snap your camera to East, South or West!

Pro gamer. Another lil did you know for the team.
Go to the south of the tlati rainforest until you see the little oasis on the hill. Climb up and use the sit emote at the picnic for an orange cosmetic that you can wear on your head
To add to this. You can menu swap the compass menu directions. Convenient for relating direction to menu positions. Ex- I keep mine north 1st menu slot , east 2nd slot to quickly look right , west 3rd slot for left and south on the bottom for backwards / behind
you can use goading potions in kourend catacombs to burst dust devils with ease
Chuck-e-cheese controversy flashbacks 😭🤣
Is that some sort of Runelite plugin?
Minimenu reordering- can be found in your main game settings - no runelite needed
Where is it? I couldn't find it by searching.
To note - setting has to stay on for the reordered entries to stay in the reordered positioned
Maybe it's a Steam/Mobile/Official client kinda thing.
If you’re on the runelite client you need the menu entry swapper plugin, menu reordering through settings is an official client thing
Thanks.
Tbh I came here to test my own game knowledge and this one shook me to my core after playing for over 15 years lol…. Had no idea
It was only implemented in November 2021.
Did you know? There is a shop in Sophanem called "The Spice is Right" which stocks pots, antipoison, and gnome spice. However, it also offers buckets of sap and piles of salt which do not restock at all but can be sold to the shop. It is unusual because these items are specifically used in quests and have no other purpose, yet are still tradeable. In order to sell these to the shops the player would have to go out of the way to collect additional copies of these items outside of the quest.

Did you know? The fishing cranes in port piscarillius (the ones you repair for crafting and construction exp) have a pretty terrible success rate, only 30% at level 99 crafting. However, this check happens once for every player repairing it at the same time, and if it succeeds, everyone will benefit from the experience gained. This allows players to cooperate and repair cranes very quickly and efficiently, as well as effectively boosting lower levelled players exp rates if they participate.
Did you know? The Forthos Dungeon contains the easiest Red Dragons in the game. There is a perfect safe-spot for ranged/magic/hally next to the agility shortcut. For more information, click here: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Forthos_Dungeon
And there's an altar nearby, as well as a sacrificial altar that gives 3x prayer exp when you sacrifice dragon bones to it. The dragons there also drop grubby keys which can be used to extend your trips. You can spend quite a while there by sacrificing the bones to the altar, using the NPC to tan the hides then making them into d'hide armor and alching it
Yuppers. Quite a useful little spot to train in big chunks without having to leave. And if you do have to leave, there is a bank not very far away, to the north of the entrance.

When talking to the Shantay at Shantay's Pass, there is a rare chance that he will drop a "Scrumpled paper" on the ground, which contains a recipe for Ugthanki kebabs.
A scrumpled paper is a recipe for Ugthanki kebabs that is dropped by Shantay (found in the Shantay Pass) when a player talks to him. To get one quickly, players can spam the "Talk-to" option until one is dropped.
When one is dropped on the ground, the message Something drops out of Shantay's pocket onto the floor. It looks like a piece of paper....
I just did this, and it actually dropped.
This is not a learnable permanent recipe, and is not consumed on use, but if you follow the instructions, it does allow you to cook Ugthanki Kebabs.
Ugthanki Kebabs heal for 19 hp in a single bite.
Very nice find and wonderful "Did you know?" post!
Thanks!
Thanks man!
Another fun fact while we are on the topic of kebabs, but did you know that you can use regular kebabs on compost bins to make regular compost?
That's interesting too!
this is already mentioned in one of the in-game tips!
there are some other strange items that can be turned into compost such as
kelda hops (quest item)
peaches
herbs from Jungle Potion quest
apple mush
Oh that's interesting, I've never seen that tip 😆 that's pretty cool with the peaches too I didn't know that

You may have heard about certain pieces of clothing protecting you from desert heat, such as menaphite clothing, desert robes, and prospector.
But did you also know that wearing clothing in the desert that doesnt provide that benefit actually incurs a penalty instead? Each slot of armor (helmet, chest, legs, boots, shield, and gloves) you have equipped will contribute to this and will make the desert heat hit you more frequently than if you wore nothing in those slots.

While thieving blackjacks are primarily used to train the skill, they can also be used as a melee combat weapon. Although they have pretty lousy stats, they all share a passive that has a chance to stun the opponent every attack, delaying their next attack from between 1-3 ticks (scales with material used, oak is 1 tick, willow 2, maple 3). This works in both PVM and PVP and scales with both your max hit and the opponents current HP
Also, the maple blackjack (d) has the highest crush defence of any one handed weapon in the game.

Goraks are known by Ironmen to currently be the best monsters to kill for accessing the rare drop table (RDT) for drops like the shield left half, since it always gives a drop from the RDT (with RoW equipped). However, this was likely not intended, and the actual drop table is still accessible by killing a gorak and performing a stall such as playing with a pet cat as the gorak dies. This will cause the gorak to drop items from it's "real" drop table, which contains items such as low level armor, herbs, and coins.
The full drop table can be viewed on the wiki: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Gorak

If you use item tags to make neater bank and some of the pieces are degradable or have charges, they might disappear from the tagged items when you withdraw them.
There is a fix for this, what you gotta do is edit the item tag for this specific item and add * to the name.
Example: ahrim robetop tagged as "mage" disappears when withdrawn, simply rename the tag to mage* to fix the issue.
The items that this happens to might vary from user to user.
Worth noting that bank and item tags are third-party plugins
I didnt! Thanks bro
If you're using bank tabs you can also hold shift while dragging an item to the tab to include all versions of it, works for jewelry and barrows gear at least

Rabbits are the only food that can be cooked both on a spit and also over a fire like normal. The roasted rabbit and cooked rabbit are separate items and the roasted one heals 2 more hp. The cooked rabbit does not have a cooking level requirement whereas the roasted rabbit requires 16 cooking.

The stranglewood mine contains a chest that, upon lock picking, will randomly teleport the player to one of four normally inaccessible areas around zeah. The player cannot leave these areas by any means besides teleporting. The kicker is this can only be performed ONCE PER ACCOUNT, and since the destination is randomly picked between the four possible locations, your player will never be able to reach the other three. If you try to unlock the chest again the player will refuse. One location has interactable dead trees that can be chopped but the rest are tiny islands at the far edges of the map
See the wiki for the possible locations of the teleport.
That would go insane for hide and seek
I wish it didn’t refuse to let us go again

A lesser known fact about ensouled heads is that they can be reanimated without being near the dark altar, so long as it was received as a drop in your name and you reanimate it within a 31x31 range of where the monster originally died. This means you can bring arceuus reanimation spells to slayer tasks or while killing monsters and use up the heads + gain exp without having to make the trip to the dark altar. They also will count towards progress on your current task.
Unless it's been banked or, strangely enough, checking the price in the price tracker will also null it from location reanimate :p
you can get around nearly 550k exp an hour fletching atlat darts, with little to no loss, Did you know, there is a npc named * perdu * that grants you extra experience in a bunch of skills if you created your account before the update that increased exp awards. Its possible to fail at cutting a raw limestone brick if the player attempts to do so before 40 crafting. It is possible to bank exp for firemaking, fishing, mining, slayer, and woodcutting by saving up EXP tomes from the temple trekking minigame. Agility and thieving are also possible skills but these are usually banked through faster methods such as squirking or brimhaven agility.

A few music tracks such as The Shadow, Night of the Vampyre and Underground can be unlocked without having to do the quest required for it?
The Shadow can be unlocked by standing on a small part north of Musa Point, while Night of the Vampyre can be unlocked standing really close to the edge of the chunk near Barrows, and Underground can be unlocked in the eastern half of the wilderness.
Also a small fact despite being a members track, Underground can be unlocked in Free to Play without ever visiting Entrana once. Meaning this is one of the few members track you can unlock as a free to play player.

Barlak the cave goblin buys more than just long and curved bones from the player. He also buys tortoise shells, perfect tortoise shells, and snail shells. Snail shells are dropped by giant snails in the temple trekking mini game and sell to him for 600 coins. Tortoise shells and perfect tortoise shells both drop from the war tortoises used by the gnomes in the stronghold and khazard battlefield. Both sell for 600 coins as well, but the perfect shells also provide 500 crafting exp.
Edit: there are also perfect snail shells which sell for the same as perfect tortoise shells (600 coins + 500 crafting exp)

Did you know you can use a beer glass on these specific barrels scattered throughout the world for infinite beer refills? (This one is found in Edgeville Dungeon)
This makes it perfect for healing slowly for F2P players training ranged or magic on giants. That way you dont have to run to the bank for food. Since drinking beer lowers attack stat and increases strength.
Did you know you can use an Ava's device on Lanthus at castle wars to enable the ammo saving effect there?

The tuna potato is commonly known as the OG best hard food in the game, and it requires first combining a sweetcorn in a bowl and a tuna to create a tuna and corn. But for some reason, making this ingredient requires only 67 cooking, one level short of the requirement to make the actual tuna potato (68 cooking). There's nothing else it can be used for besides being eaten for 13 HP

Did you know? There is two Magic Trees in Hosidius that are located only 40 tiles (+/-) from a Bank. These qualify for Forestry Events. Chop chop! Profit!
Ooo cool is that the quickest magic tree to bank spot in game??
No
It's significantly farther than the Woodcutting guild and doesn't benefit from the invisible +7 boost in the Woodcutting guild. As far as Forestry goes (since events can't spawn inside the Woodcutting guild), the Myths' guild is far closer to a bank and far more active.
Auburnvale also has magic trees that are comparably close to a bank and can also be cut adjacent to Vale Totems sites for training fletching/getting Vale offerings for uniques at the same time.
Other places are closer to a bank but require a ton of other things to access.
These have the advantage that almost anyone can get here quickly and easily with minimal effort.
Did you know? Ice Fiends are the only type of fiend that don't drop fiendish ashes(Fire and Water fiends do).
Surely the magic trees at the Mage Training Arena are just as close, and easy to get to a bank now that there's a bank chest there, and don't require a single quest point to access? (too lazy to confirm myself)

Bananas can be sliced by any weapon that has a slash option, which allows some interesting weapons to slice them such as abyssal whips, beach boxing gloves, and butterfly nets.
Additionally, you can also slice them with godsword hilts (the hilt alone, not the full godsword), even though it's not even an equippable item with a slash option.
This trait is unique to bananas and does not work for other sliceable fruits such as limes or lemons.

Most skills have two unique level up jingles. Most play one for level ups without unlocks, and one for levels with unlocks (i.e. level 40 attack to wield rune weapons), but some dont follow this pattern.
Strength + HP: one jingle for each level pre 50 and one for 50 - 99.
Construction: one for levels not divisible by ten and one for levels divisible by ten.
Hunter: one for even and one for odd levels
Sailing: One for levels 1-98 and one unique one for level 99.
Agility and combat only have one jingle sadly.
Additionally, although smithing technically has two, the one for "no unlocks" is not possible to hear anymore due to every single level containing some sort of unlock, as of January 7th, 2016, when Shayzien armor was added to the game.
TIL that monsters have different resistances for "ranged standard" and "ranged heavy", namely bows vs. crossbows. Green dragons have +40 standard ranged defence, but +10 heavy ranged defence, which is why I kill them twice as fast using a Dorgeshuun/bone crossbow than a yew shortbow (which has higher ranged attack bonus AND fires faster, so it would have been better were it not for the different defence types).
I also learned that due to it shooting faster, the Dorgeshuun/bone crossbow has roughly the same DPS as an adamant crossbow with mithril bolts!
Both of these invaluable tips I learned through this fantastic resource: https://tools.runescape.wiki/osrs-dps/
Another use for the Noxious Halberd!
You can kill the duck for the Falador Easy Diary without range or mage
You could do that with any lower tier halberd too

You can grow your kitten into cats or cats into overgrown cats quicker by playing rat pits games. Get a friend, a cat speak amulet, and some coins, and go to the respective pit (Ardougne for kittens, Varrock for cats)
As long as you instruct your cat to "just be careful in there", it will run away when it gets too low and avoid death.
The cat that happens to win will get 15 minutes added to their growth timer and the loser will get 7.5 minutes. This means it will only take around 16 games on average to grow a cat.
This doesn't work with ironmen because they can't use the rat pits. Sorry, no death runes for you.

Did you know that you can use certain items on Broodoo Victims spawned by the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame to deal damage to them and earn XP? Using antipoison on green victims or relicym's balm on yellow victims grants 2 herblore XP for each point of damage. Food used on white victims grants 2 cooking XP per damage instead. Quality of antipoison or the type of food used also affects the max hit that you're able to inflict this way.
Did you know that in team Chambers of Xeric you can avoid all damage while killing melee hand using a 4 tick weapon (2:0)? To set you need to attack Olm two ticks after his auto. This method also allows you to deal with all specials without breaking cycle.
Additional tip: using the overload timer, drink brews at 15s intervals while in cycle for health regen with lossless dps

struggle when using 117hd in varlamore and priff? here's something for you:
anyone who uses way too many plugins on top of 117hd, I have a solution that you should try, also in general may help people using 117hd, the cache for runelite memory is by default only like 800mb which worked at first, but theyve not raised it by default and you gotta search "Runelite(configure)" get this menu, and change the value in the jvm arguments section to what is here: ( -Xmx2G for those who want to copy paste, this raises it to 2gb)
Has made me no longer lag almost entirely and I hope this helps someone out there who wants nice graphics but turned it off due to varlamore and such creating lots of lag or crashes:
Thanks! that actually helped
Sounds like a conspiracy theory
question for this, does the "scale" need to be set to 1.0 as well or what does that do?
i play around with the scale based on what im doing, you dont need to touch that
it changes all the UI elements to be changed by size as a percent of what you put in there (0.75 would be 75% size, 1.5 would be 150% size, et c.)
Didn't work for me :/

The tower of life basement has a disco floor (ok not really but hear me out). In this small room, when the player steps on the tiles, they will light up briefly and then go out. After leaving, the player will say "That was weird". There is currently no known use for this.
Also other fun fact, you cannot cast telekinetic grab anywhere on the ground floor or within several blocks of the outside of the tower. Attempting to do so will say that the tower is interfering with the spell. You can however cast it on the upper floors and in the basement.
Did you know on Runelite, you can filter bank searches. For example, if you type >100k, it'll only show items with GE value above 100k in your bank.
to build on this, you can search for placeholders only by searching qty<1

Rune Pouch best usage for non max construction players:

Lava
Mist

You can use almost every single TP in the standard spells book.

There is a penguin mafia, referenced by the penguin Noodle during the Cold war quest, named the Fettuccine Mafia. It is led by a penguin named Alfredo Fideu and a small group of related penguins who are all named after various types of pasta: Noodle himself, Rotini, and the Gemelli twins. It is also likely that they are all macaroni penguins, similar to Noodle, though it is not officially confirmed.
The scope of their operations is currently a mystery.
did you know that items like Bandos, armadyl and a few other items have little to no benefit in purchasing due to their lack of an upgrade over their previous cheaper counterparts?
Me?
Yes
Thank you
Did you know? On top of the Aldarin Windmill you can find a nice nest. Placing certain items inside will return you a different item everytime (after logout/world switch).
The known items can be exchanged are :
- Fossilised dung > nasty token
- Raw chicken > cooked chicken
- Gnome spice > iron pickaxe
- Rope > leather gloves
- Dragon claws > An egg
- Rune platelegs > runite bar
- Adamant scimitar > A cake
- Mithril limbs > Mithril crossbow
- Steel dagger > Ochre snelm
- Kwuarm potion (unf) > weapon poison
Guys I posted a fix in the comments of this reddit thread. For those who want the old Arceus spellbook layout. Did it with printscreens so should be easy to follow

edit: Fixed the link
Found a fix! Only works on runelite tho
Ok... but what does that have to do with OSRS?
Not a nice statistic, but this isn't really the place to share that link
<@&385422009930219520> appreciate you taking a look at this^

Older players will probably already know this, but in OSRS there are various chat effects you can apply to make them more colorful or visible. You can change the color and/or apply a pattern such as a wave or shake effect. All you have to do is type it in the format Color:effect:yourmessage, for example, flash2:shake:selling rune scimmy 30k.
These are the following available colors:
Yellow, red, green, cyan, purple, white, flash1, flash2, flash3, glow1, glow2, glow3, rainbow, pattern
The text effects are the following:
Wave, wave2, scroll, shake, slide.
The good old days of spamming wavey colourful text to get attention in selling your crap to other players in Varrock pre-GE
Pattern12345678: also allows you to make a fun color pattern. The wiki has a solid page (as always) on all the chat effects: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Chat_Interface#Chat_effects
This made me nostalgic of the old days selling items without the GE
if you have two strange old lockpicks in your inventory and you high alch the last one with less charges left it will STILL high alch the first one with more charges (bout 40)
That's because of how high alching works. It should target the top leftest similar item first AFAIK.

There is a temple trekking event in game that has been bugged for years now, making it impossible to encounter. Its called the campsite event, and it involves coming across some sickly adventurers that you feed food to in order from most starving to least starving. If they starve, they transform into ghasts which must be killed in order to advance.
Additionally, back when this event was available, there was a bug that involved purple sweets where feeding them would accidentally consume the entire stack
imagine oda used his sweet stack XD
Did you know?
[[Dark]] (at around the end of the song) and [[Intrepid]] have the same tones in the music?
Its not known why Ian Taylor made this decision, but it is a "remix" of dark. Intrepid is more slower pace and creepier, while the Dark version is fast paced and adrenaline pumping

For some unknown reason, the first step of any clue cannot spawn a double agent fight, even if it usually should, and instead skips straight to Uri

All leather crafting takes 3 ticks. All leather shield crafting takes 5 ticks. For some odd reason the Hardleather body is the only leather item that doesn't follow suit and is 2 ticks to make.
The fact this item is 2 ticks, make it impossible to do tick manipulation with. The hardleather body should be changed to 3 ticks.
The pearl bolt special effect deals more damage to players holding a Staff of Fire, and doesn't effect players wearing a Staff of Water
Killing the Jungle Spiders north of Tai Bwo Wannai village grants Favor in the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup activity
The Mage Arena 2 bosses wander during the mini quest , but after you complete the miniquest yours will remain in the spot you defeated them originally.
Interesting
Fire cape and maybe infernal cape too, iirc
Antifire potions reduce the damage taken by Cerberus' lava pools
Also, enchanted dragonstone bolts will not proc on a player with any form of dragonfire protection, or a player that is using the Protect from Magic prayer
To add to that, protect from ranged will also halve the damage from the dragonfire bolt proc
This one is fairly known at this point, but you can use blighted supplies at ferox and castle wars bank
Particularly useful for eating an angler before PvM
Pretty sure the dragonfire proc is a magical attack which isn't halved from the bolt proc
they proc on protect magic, just for reduced damage
They don't, unless it was recently changed. Mod Ash even checked it for someone
Can't post the link to it
What i can gather is the regular bolt damage may be reduced but the addd damage from the bolt proc may not be so a 41 normal hit , *.6 would be 24.6 but rounds down, then the bolt proc would add another 22 maybe for a 46 max hit through prayer
(Just dragonstone bolts e with 112 ranged level and no ranged str boosts)
It'd be nice if the wiki clarified that more
you can have run on and hold ctrl and then click to walk
You can harvest herbs, allotments, hops, and coral at double speed by spam clicking/tapping until right before the 2nd xp drop. Snape grass will also automatically go into an open reagent pouch when harvesting
Did you know: You can press [Tab] to reply to your last private message. Multiples times to page through your recent messages.
Ran into a new player that was complaining how hard it was to send private messages lol.
Did you know: the report abuse menu allows keyboard shortcuts?
Each option is labeled with a number or letter corresponding to that report option.
However, one downside of this menu is that it can interrupt certain skilling actions while reporting other players.
You can also spam the shortcut button to send multiple reports at once. Probably not a good idea but it is possible lol
Did you know: You can put two halves of a pizza together to make a whole pizza. Have a pizza of that!
