It's very much some melodic metalcore, but it's not overproduced, it doesn't sound overly clean and polished, it doesn't sound like it's trying to be commercial

There's real heart in this shit imo, I really like it, I just found this band

I honestly appreciate that it's not just out here being heavy for the sake of it, yet it's still really impactful on the side of the instrumentation

I, admittedly, never liked this band until their 2023 album

And even then, Ahren's cleans aren't my favorite and never will be. I'm sad he had to leave the band due to mental health reasons, and I wish him all the best, but for me this guy is an actual improvement.

This band is cool and I'm glad they finally grew on me to a degree. There's so many metalcore bands that just write about sappy breakups, and these guys are writing about their abusive childhoods and actual tragedies they've suffered. There is legit passion in their music, and I like that a lot.

At a time where I was an edgelord and shunned everything melodeath and conventional metalcore, this was my favorite band of it's kind the biggest exception to that rule

And I still think to this day they rule

Big darkest hour enthusiast

Their members also were part of various cool other bands of many metal subgzbres

That's really cool. They were the first non Risecore band I got into in terms of metalcore, so they kind shaped my wider taste for heavy genre, and I actually ended liking a lot of melodeath influenced stuff because of them.
