#Will Restitched have DLC Costumes/Level Kits Post-Launch? If so, what sort of DLC would you Create?

I suggested this DLC in the Wardrobe Wishlist, but if Massive Monster and Devolver Digital allow for it I'd love to see a Cult of the Lamb Costume Pack
That seems pretty satanic and graphic, I don’t see how that would fit Restitched
It'd be pretty fun to have Wardrobe DLC that was in collaboration with other indie games, like Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, Undertale/Deltarune, Don't Starve, Cult of the Lamb (like mentioned above), etc.
Although idk if that would potentially defeat the purpose of the Wardrobe being versatile enough for people to make custom made outfits
It could be just in the form of an Assets Pack they could sell. For those who know how to make high detail scenes.
I’d happily buy a pack like this. The potential of it is huge.
I think Level Kits would be cool like it’ll work like story mode as the levels having what the player should do with the assets they collected
I have thought of a Half Life Level Kit, but since the Half Life games are rated M or mature, things would be altered
Like how LBP done DLC for Metal Gear and God of War
Like PG-Rated versions of M-Rated video games
The Half Life Level Kit will just be based on HL2/Alyx with the Combine being the antagonists for this DLC
I wasn't really a huge fan of the Level Kits in LBP. I shouldn't have to pay money for DLC that I then have to go through near impossible sections where there are Prize Bubbles I had to find within a difficult area.
Basically felt like I wasn't quite paying for everything.
That was exactly the beauty of the kits
They brought in that thrill to collect everything again
A thrill you simply can’t have with player made levels and their (usually quite goofy) DIY collectables
I'm more of a creator than actually playing levels. So if there was something like a timesavers pack in the game I'd be more than happy to buy it.
I easily get frustrated because of my ADHD and I'd rather I didn't break my £3,500 PC setup!
God that is overwhelmingly expensive for a gaming machine
I like to make sure my PC doesn't struggle with anything haha
I like the idea of new level kits as DLC. But some of the possible content that would be in it should also be added to the base game for free alongside the new DLC since history about LBP DLC is that a short campaign is made with the new materials to give you a idea of what you can make along with a new mechanic. If the mechanic is added to the base game but the DLC has all the other content it would still give me a reason to get back on the game even if I don't have the money to buy the DLC.
It’s more or less an extra way to support the developers if they start adding DLC to the game. I wouldn’t feel as bad for buying extra content as I support the living hell out of Trixel and everything they have done so far.
So would I but as a kid I never bought all the DLC's that had some new mechanic for LBP/LBP2 so certain stuff in the game was locked off to me which ranged from more than just clothes, stickers, and materials(attract-o-gel from the muppet DLC and the Monster kit DLC are the two that come to mind). It got annoying that fan made builds were walled off because of the DLC I didn't have. The two things I would want with the DLC is that if there's a mechanic in it that a bunch of the DLC's level revolves around that it's put in the base game for people who can't buy the DLC to be able to use them. And the other is that if the user acquires another creation from another player who has DLC that the user doesn't have, the game swaps out those DLC items for stuff from the base game(with wood as an example) so that there's less of a paywall to play with fan made stuff.
I feel the opposite about the kits. I'm a creator, like you, it's why I enjoyed the game, but I also liked playing the levels.
So I always preferred MGS, Marvel, PotC premium level kits over the monster kit or the history kit where they just hand you everything.
LBP2 premium kits were so good.
Move pack, cross controller, DC, Toy Story, Muppets...
SpongeBob and The Journey Home for LBP3 were fantastic.
Everything else just felt like I wasn't getting my money's worth. "Here's some stuff, I guess. Thanks for your money."
I think it comes from having a "anything earned is more precious than a handout" mindset.
As a creator myself, I want to use the stuff I paid for. Not have it locked behind something so ridiculous.
I remember as a kid I hated playing the MGS level kit. I was trying to Ace each level and I found it super difficult. At the time the MGS DLC launched I was only 8 years old.
Having a playthrough DLC level kit should be about how the new assets are used - an example of how they are used. Not having to complete a difficult level without dying is not fun to me.
But again I guess even as an adult I hate things being difficult.
I never considered it ridiculous. more like interactive art.
nah i totally understand their point though
having certain things locked behind dlc is lame
costumes are fine, but stuff like level assets and whatnot just kinda hurts
This!
A very simple solution to make everyone happy would be to just have all DLC collectibles be given out if you click a button
If you want the real experience, though, you could just choose not to click it and get them the classic way
It should be just a showcase level, like how LBP has done it with certain DLC packs.
I never enjoyed having to complete a level without dying just to get part of something I paid for.
Tbh that's a bit of a you problem I think
Although I can understand where you come from
Ideally there would be a way to get the assets without playing the levels
But the levels themselves had so much charm and thrill
To play new adventures was so fun
Showcase levels were so boring
I’m a creator, not an end user, if I pay for something. I expect to have it. lol
In the game series you mentioned, the user base was both made out of creators, players, and those who did both
So, level kits make perfect sense. I don’t know why this is even a discussion 😅
"Groovy Baby" Stuffy and "Billion Dollar" Stuffy. ("Austin Powers" and "Dr. Evil" inspired costumes.)
(see what I did there?)
This is not what my issue is, I agree that level kits are a necessity for DLC, my point is that it shouldn't have DLC items unlocked for completing the levels without dying.
Some of the MGS Level Kit levels were almost impossible to complete without dying.
But if I've paid for something extra in a video game I expect to be able to grab everything from it, it's what I've paid for. Not to complete a level without dying.
eh i can ace levels in LBP so that wouldn't a deal
Some dlcs are just run and grab (for example: the monsters or the zombie whatever dlc) and dlc level kits should be fun to play, thats the point of lbp, collect stuff and build stuff from it and create and share to the world. (no hate)
I paid for something to enjoy! For a long time to try to ace the levels or something
And acing levels can take a long time 2 hours could be that
And for acing you get extra stuff
And after getting the extra stuff i feel happy because i got something from it
Thats all i have to say dlcs are meant to be fun to play and not just a grab and run
If this text is boring to read for someone here is a summarized version
Some DLCs feel like "grab and run" packs (like the monsters or zombie ones), but DLC level kits should be fun to actually play — that's the whole point of LittleBigPlanet: to collect, build, create, and share. No hate, but I paid for something to enjoy, not just to rush through. I want to spend time trying to ace the levels, even if it takes hours. When I finally get the extra stuff, I feel good because I earned it. So yeah, DLCs should be fun to play, not just quick grabs — that's all I'm saying.
It just seems right that a "maker"s game have makers costumes. Like Tested's Adam Savage and Martina from Nerdforge.
Lbp had some DLC u had to play the level to win the DLC but also had grab and runs, i think that specifically was great middleground
I don’t mind having levels you need to play through to earn the items you pay for. I just don’t think it’s fair that things should be locked behind a level that is very difficult to complete without dying. The MGS pack in LBP was fun to play but not so much if you went and tried to beat it without dying.
So youre saying that there should be rewards for: level complete, all prizes collected only these 2 i can agree but it would feel empty where is the third one, but the real question is: are there even rewards like that planned or already added in?
I think a whole lot more than one or two people would complain if there were no rewards for acing.
I mean yeah
Acing is hard and that’s exactly what makes achieving the rewards all the better
Creates value
And brings a whole new layer of interest and replayability
Honestly @gaunt vine with respect but that’s just skill issue
Don’t care if it is a skill issue or not, it’s not fun it’s just annoying.
