In terms of variety lets get the ability to be able to rent or sell scenes at the marketplace. Great for new creators to explore and learn and build upon scene presets.

You could pack up everything into a collection and sell that. Only the scene settings would have to be changed by the end user. But yes, maybe this could be a useful feature.

I did this with my star island world. Everything in there is in the listing. I've tested the scripts and all still work just gotta add the sky box you want

It be cool to feature that stuff

I've sometimes wondered if it could be possible to rent instances of worlds. This would build upon a 'remix' style culture.

I like the idea that the world can be "transferred" to a single owner

Exclusivity is gonna cost. Your basically building a world for someone. Why would anyone want to build a scene for one person for a micro transaction

#

That scene took a month of like staying up past my bed time and devoting all time to it

But you could decide to sell it in a while, not for a ridiculous price but the one you estimate

#

the idea of renting instances or something like that (what loki said) also seems very attractive to me

Id selll that scene for $1500 exclusive. That be how much I make if I sold 300 in a lifetime.

#

Sure rent for 5 bucks for a month I'm good with that

#

All they'd have to is change the sky box. It's the same exact scene lol. It cost 5 bucks to buy

It would be nice if several properties could be rented in the same world, create an urbanization 😛

renting would only make sense if you want to be in proximity to a high traffic worlds, like have a store up in a busy mall or game, or like an ad if you just want to place a portal to your other world. Renting a whole world for exclusivity is not really ideal, why not rent an exclusive instance of the world instead so you get privacy. In that case we would need to share the costs with sansar, because we do not allow limiting number of users per scene for that reason

You did rent it though lol you should be able to white list

#

You can white list scenes now

winter dagger
#

does whitelisting block new instances from spawning? Or only prevent others from being in the instance you're in?

loud granite
#

If therewere renting @foggy heath wouldn't it be done through instancing anyway

#

I'd guess if your white list was as big as the cut off and everyone was online in your world probably

winter dagger
#

Its the same cost to Sansar either way, a logged in user will use up so much resources regardless of which sim, with some variation of course. IMHO we should be able to limit # in an instance for SOME use cases, like a linear story-line experience, that requires a fresh new start to end for each person or group embarking.

Renting would be an instance like you're said im sure, but that would require some interface & accounting to manage. As long as renting was cheaper than buying the whole scene & setup I bet there's people who'd love it, maybe many would rent to test then go buy the full thing later, or switch to a different one, depends on the person really, renting is a good option to bring about eventually

But what I said is you can rent the scene for what 5 bucks a month? 5 bucks for an event? My scene is 5 bucks the only thing not the same is the sky box and how bright the sun is lol. It's the whole scene just buy it for 5 bucks

#

You have it forever in your inventory

#

Fully loaded just like my scene

winter dagger
#

agreed, full scene sales could be great, sometimes theres no time & you need that build now lol

loud granite
#

I got scripts and custom sound I paid real money for

#

Not the scripts but I got about $9 bucks worth of custom sounds in there

#

You get a space ship that flies

winter dagger

Maybe for rentals there needs to be some value added features, same as real life you dont have to pay property tax, you dont have to repair things, your free to leave when the lease is up, maybe you get some maintenance assistance & customer service too lol, also proximity to busy places which is important for stores like Evo said
