This morning I had some time to do some testing. I've set up my 2 machines in my home office to play online.

  • Shattered World
  • Boosted Speed off
  • Argentina and Brazil
  • Unit Initiative set to Full/Medium/Low for land/air/sea
  • Set hotspots in Paraguay on both machines, DoW on Paraguay
  • Periodical sell to/buy from World Market of units.

I've made it to Feb 19 so far, no sync error yet. Been about 40 mins. I had to turn off Pause on Event in the options so it would just keep running.

#

Paraguay fell, going after Uruguay next.

#

Mar 17, 2030 - turned on Boosted Game Speed

#

Apr 5 - Uruguay is dead. Just bought 101 AT-3 Sagger from the World Market. What am I gonna do with all those leg AT??

#

Performance wise, I'm getting about 30sec/day. Now, one of my machines is an old Intel i5 with 8GB ram, so that might be affecting the test speeds. But MP is definitly slower.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for yet, but people were saying it was related to trading units on the World Market, so that's what I've been testing. Past reports said stuff about 2 regions warring on the same target so I've been testing that.

#

July 31 - still in sync, about 90mins in.

#

I've got to go teach in a bit, so I'll probably just leave it running.

#

DoW on Bolivia...

#

Continuing to buy/sell units from the market when I'm looking at the screen.

Sep 30 - Allied Brazil and Argentina to help with Supply while invading Bolivia.

#

Oct 17 - Added a 5 pack of land fabs to each of Brazil and Argentina to move them along.

#

Hit a sync error, grabbing my files. Hopefully this gives us the clues we need.

Have you tried buying units from the market at the same time on both pc's, or buying on one whilst the other has the same unit in it cart ready to buy (and then pressing buy)

What did I just read... You tried with 2 PC in the same location and you call this a desync test?

#

Why aren't you making events, creating your team of testers from the fanbase is beyond me

I'd also send a Research Cooperation

Resumed testing

#

The coding team wants more data, so I've put the two machines back in sync. To do this, I found the autosave file that was older (time stamp) and renamed it so I could find it and it would be a new file. I then hosted on that machine and selected the file. When my second machine reconnected, it autotically re-downloaded the file. Now Brazil and Argentina are continuing their joint invasion of Bolivia.

Time to sign a research sharing treaty and see if that breaks anything...

#

Bolivia fell. Hmm, who's next...

#

Chile, then Peru.

Had to stop the stream, on another call. Chile is kicking ass against both nations!

Hmm, encountered something suspicious. Done testing for today.
