This isn't actually a bug, but we've been concerned there could be some missunderstanding.
This only happens to your battlegroups where you've assigned a leader. This is sort of the purpose of a leader unit in a battlegroup. Here are some notes on leaders;
New selection rules
- If the lead unit in the battlegroup is selected by elastic band, make the rest of the group selected as well.
- If a child is selected by elastic band, select only that unit
- If the lead unit in the battlegroup is selected, hide other battlegroup member pathlines, but show destination markers. Other battlegroup units show path line back to the lead unit to convey current formation
- Individual units could still be individually selected with the battlegroup
Enforce move in formation for all units in the BG based on the position/orders of their lead unit. Lead unit conforms to formation move order of overall selection
We had requested feedback on the overall system around the time of relese for SR2030 but have not gotten much back on this topic.
If you remove leaders from those groups the formation move button will return to normal operation.
oh ok. Thanks, it's now more clearer . I'm a big fan of the chain of command, proper organization is crucial for large-scale operations. Therefore, I have always tried to use the new battlegroup management system as it goes in this direction. I hope that other options will be implemented in the future, such as the development of leaders' skills, their experience level, the possibility of grouping battlegroups into other battlegroups so as to create a tree etc. This would make management of large in game invasions, as example Operation Barbarossa in ww2 scenario, easier for the player
