Description:
***Ashen*** takes place in a **Modern, Liminal-Horror** world where the majority of Europe has been consumed by a thick haze known as the **Z.O.N.E.** . A barren wasteland where reality is warped and anomalous phenomena run rampant. A place where fears come to life. You and your team are alone. Instead of what there once was, there are crude imitations of reality. Euclidian laws apply *only* to those who do not stray into the dark. A place where riches are abundant, along with the *things* that guard them. A place where fellow man becomes beast in the pursuit of prosperity.

**The System**
The System used in the game is Heavily roleplay based and emphasizes critical thinking over stat allocation. It feels similar to that of "Call of Cthulhu" but less punishing in combat. This is a D100 game, that means your best friend is a 100 sided dice.
You get to choose starting equipment, everything ranging from Assault Rifles' to the simple flashlight. Every item holds a purpose. But you can only carry so much. Co-operate with your team to make sure you have every situation covered. You may use your tools in unconventional ways. Like using a Angle Grinder as a hook for a Rope, or UV ink to write an invisible message discretely.
More importantly, This is not a power fantasy. Team-mates will die if you mess up. Do not come here with the expectation that you will get better from stats. Only your knowledge, careful planning; and teamwork will help in your survival. However, the game is still fair. Death is not a guarantee, but it always waits for you to fall into its embrace.
The Story
Your team (*The Players*) are tasked with "Missions" assigned from your Corporation. It is your job to investigate, kill, steal, loot, help, and save. Every mission is different, sometimes requiring you to bring different supplies. You work as one of many teams of the Corporation assigned to explore the Z.O.N.E. But the one question every human wants to know... *What exactly is the ZONE?*
What you’ll play as:
You can play as one of three types of Soldiers.
**Operator**
A human with Medium Cybernetics (Replaced limbs, enhanced eyes, etc.) and experience in modern warfare (Afghanistan, Iran, and other wars within the 2000). You are an employee of the Company, and are being paid very generously to go to the Z.O.N.E. to explore.
**Aspect**
A machine intelligence surgically implanted into the body of a human. You lack the fear that makes humans so vulnerable in combat, and the programmability to specialize in what your team needs. You exist to serve the Corporation.
**Anomaly**
A once human, now echo of the self you once were. You're thrown into a new world so different from your time. You've grown to like the Corporation, and you now serve the Corporation with your strange abilities.
