Remembrance of the Frost Moon
You live in a small city. Whether you've seen it grow alongside you or you just moved here is up to you. One evening, you notice a post on the Adventurer's Guild forum about a quest in your area that needs some people to do it. While dirty work, it's the only kind of job you can seem to get, so you take it for the sub-par pay and go to the local Guild Hall to find out more. As you head over, you notice the moon shine with a bright blue and white hue, radiating with an unnatural gleam of frost, as snow starts to fall around you, the first snowfall of the year, and possibly the first ever to fall on the city in early October.

Additional Notes: This is more of a mystery, so don't expect a whole lot of combat. You're punching above your weight, after all.
