Description:
Looking to build a play group of people i vibe with and would be happy to GM for in a long term capacity. This series (or perhaps 'mini campaign' depending if i want to flesh out some things) of 3 weekly sessions is for getting a feel on everyone who's interested. I can handle up to 12 players across all 3 listed days. All experience levels welcome. My GM style is 10%-50% roleplay depending on the session and therefore 50-90% combat depending on the session. I have had the odd 100% rp session but they're rather rare (1 in 15 sessions maybe?).

Be yourself, the only character you should be playing is the one you bring to the session, it'd be a miserable experience if you had to fake your whole out of character personality for 4 hours a week. If you aren't asked to be a long term player please don't take it personally, just means vibe wasn't there for me for any number of reasons; no use fretting over it. I won't be fretting if you decide to decline invitation to a long term campaign.

With Saturdays time slot filled im pleasantly surprised to see that all 4 players are new to 4e! To ease into playing 4e as character building can be a bit tougher compared to say 5e (as well as this just being a 3 shot). We're going to use prebuilt characters. If we do a full campaign afterward then we'll have yall make ur characters for that one. The personality and roleplay aspects of the character will of course be left to you. That said i am going to present a few mechanical choices. However before that is 'roles'. 4E has established roles that the game is balanced around and expects 1 of each role in a 4 player game.

The roles are as follows

Defender
A character with the Defender role primarily focuses enemy fire by making it difficult for enemies to move past, and punishing enemies who attack other party members.

Leader
A leader primarily supports the party by aiding allies, and making enemies more vulnerable to attack. The leader role refers only to a class's combat function; a character with a leader role does not have to be the decision maker or spokesperson for the party (its just a name)

Controller
A character with the Controller role primarily handles crowds by creating hazardous terrain and repositioning enemies, or spreading conditions and damage over multiple enemies.

Striker
A striker primarily eliminates single threats by closing with a target quickly and safely, then rapidly dealing damage to it.

Please discuss among yourselves and reach agreement on who plays what role

the leader role seems more my style of playing since I’m more of a supporter of allies/bird flipper of enemies kind of guy.

I typically go for a more controller like role but I think I'll go for striker to try something different haha

Fantastic, next is going to be class all 4e classes are perfectly good, but some are more complex than others. So limiting the options, just pick what sounds cooler to yall.

Cool, i'll have little 'pre game prep' documents for yall to read that will give a short summary of 4e and how your characters work sent out today. I'll be using the rules for whatever race is appropriate for a new player, but just message me what race you want your character and i'll reskin the rules to fit your choice. If you could download fantasy grounds unity and make an account (its free, i have a ultimate licence so free users can play in my games) as the VTT we'll play on.
