The car market also absolutely sucks rn. Back in 2017-18, an AE86 in near-perfect condition would sell online for like $6-8k every few weeks. Now listings are rare and the average price is $20-50k. Really annoying. When I went to the Toyota dealership to get a car in 2021, there were a ton less used cars too. They had maybe 6 Corollas, 3 Camrys, and 2 Priuses. Even my #1 dream car (the 86 is a close second), a DeLorean, has gone up to an average of like $70k

If I did get an AE86, the problems it would obviously have wouldn't matter too much, luckily. I like working on cars so I'd be willing to fix it, and I have a few friends that said they would love a chance to help repair an 86
