Whenever I recommend a anime to beginner it has to be something that won’t scare them away, but hook them on the series leaving them wanting more after the first couple episodes. For me, Sakamoto days hasn’t really hooked me the same way other anime have, and therefore I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners, but it’s definitely a good show.

It’s of course up to personal preference, but I’m just not as exited to see new episodes of Sakamoto days compared to other animes

I think that’s just straight up wrong. How has anime gotten worse from becoming main stream? Bad English dubs? I think English dubs are better than they have ever been. The dubs sound way more natural and less forced. If you don’t like the dubs then just watch the sub, it’s not that deep.
