The wire hairs could have more desaturated colors so it is less likely to stick out. The more saturated the colors are in this instance, the more likely they can stand out, although note that this doesn’t apply to every character. The lack of saturation in the hair could bring out the eyes.
The blue part of the eyes could have thicker lines so they are more visible. Again, simply suggestions you do not have to follow.

While you are sketching, you could alter how many details are on a certain part, or the proportions of Cassi to bring out the details you want to bring out.

Like if a character was composed of entirely curved lines and the eyes were sharp triangles, the eyes would stand out the most.

Or if you wanted the arm to stand out, you could make that one larger or smaller than the other, or have more detail than the other arm.

one thing i want to bring attention to is color scheme

it looks like your main colors are grayscale, red, yellow, and light blue, the latter three of which kinda clash with each other too much

if i were you id try analogous colors with red (analogous means next to each other in color hue), like grape purple, some gradient of orange and yellow that looks like vibrant fire, those kinda vibes

you could totally add a large streak of purple in a stylized fire pattern on the legs to make it pop out more

but then again idk the vibe of your character so do whatever fits it best

one note about this: you do not ONLY have to stick to these warm colors (and grayscale), wherever you add sharp contrast like blue will serve as a great way to draw the attention of the audience, so keeping the eyes blue for example will make it stand out especially (which can be a good thing depending on where you want the focus to be)

That is pretty good. The shoulder pad sticks out a bit, although I believe that was the intention, and the other arm might provide balance later. The face plates could have that lighter look to contrast from the dark visor too. It might be the shading that makes it look that way though. How do you feel about the current design?

It's a really really good Sonic. So good that the buckle looking kinda off is noticeable. In a lot of other circumstances I'd assume it's an artstyle choice but this one's so consistent throughout that the buckle sticks out.

I’ve stuffed a toy he wanted into two bags and have made an entire body to then wrap in wrapping paper with the head containing the toy.

Everything that’s colored, you cell shade
Thick bold lines
3 to 4 colors max ( somewhat )
Lineart can range from childlike to very detailed ( for the face and clothes specifically )

just study whatever sinisterbart posts and look at leaked 17bucks songs

its not always thick bold lines. and its also not always gradients
the color white is almost never shaded

there is also not a limit on how many colors are in the palette

literally just make it look like a cleaned up sketch and when you want the lineart to change color, draw over it, but dont use Alpha Lock or Clipping to change its color

a lot of the spritework is manual and not just copy and pasted
