I'm just gonna stick with they/them for now because of me not being sure.

||Basically what was being argued is that Yamato wants to be like their hero Oden who was (before the straw hats came) the only one who was able to wound their tyrant father and Emperor of the Sea: Kaido basically ppl were saying its more of an admiration rather than a wanting of being male.||

||There were many instances of Yamato calling themself Oden and acting like they actually were him like someone might act like their favorite superhero.||
