Do you mean to make him more undead/lich?
With zombies and dead/undead, eyes are less bright and saturated/colorful. They can become discolored, milky/filmy, and unclear.
If you play down the highlight and color there, you may see a difference.
You can also try making the iris and/or pupil different exaggerated sizes, or make them appear unfocused on object/distance.
