I have not yet but I want to get them! I’m just very comfortable with my watercolors and I don’t find gouache in local craft stores often

Though I use watercolors in a similar way to gouache often, using tube watercolors straight to get really opaque layers

Like in this piece I used white straight from the tube to make the shape of the clouds and then feathered them out

oh yeah really loading the watercolors like that. it's pretty similar, but gouache has a thicker body and won't drip around but they also can dilute like water colors.

that's very pretty.

I use oils for comms and more serious stuff and only recently been getting into water colors. it's a lot of fun.

acrylics i have very little practice in at all and should probably do a few sketchbook paintings with it. 🤔 if you can find it try gouache tho fr. it's pretty nice.

Watercolors is almost comical for me to be such a big fan of because my ADHD usually makes me wanna finish things all at once but watercolor kinda challenges me to slow down and step away when I know I can’t add more until I wait

if you plan it out a bit and paint alla prima i feel like you'd enjoy oils a lot. however waiting for them to actually dry if you want to do actual layers takes forever.

you can heat the canvas in the oven a few cycles at 150f for 15min and or use a quick drying medium like liquin and that usually only takes a day or two before it's dry though. instead of like weeks.

tldr oil painting is great also, i highly reccomend.

Well next time try writing the time down on a sheet of paper when you first start and by the end write the final time, that should help, I use the time on the app I use because it tells me how long I took, I have to manually count the sketch time

Well remember you are worth a lot more than you think you are, never undervalue what you have, when people see your art they need to wanna pay to have what you offer, and what you offer is amazing works of art.
