i recomend using the curve tool, is very useful

press control and n at the same tiem

here is how u get curve tool
the way it works:
click somewhere on the page
click again somewhere else, should create like a straight line kinda thing
double click in a third area and it creates a curve between the 3 points
u can add more points tho so thas cool

basically when usin layers, make sure ya have the lineart on the top layer and the colour on the bottom layer

should be able to scribble under the black lines if ya click the layer underneath

more layers = more oppertunities for detail

for example this one uses 4 layers

ya got the line art, the shading/highlights, the colour, and the background
