yeah its also the trouble of actually drawing what you imagine also, you have this clear image but it kinda comes out a bit wonky

but thats why you make base sketches and all that to help with the process

yeah it helps a lot, i usually seperate my drawing into 3-4 layers, the sketch, the outline, then the color, the extra is just the shading

So for my ocean I have background, ocean top, ocean color, seaweed stems, and seaweed leaves

Really making every component a layer. I can compress them later if I want
