#Hand tracking, hotas and nausea issues.

The hand hand tracking itself is kinda spotty and the interact isn't very intuitive and tends to stick. The tracking also interferes with the physical stick and it kinda stops letting me use the stick because it can't track my hands while sitting in my lap. May just have to disable the hand tracking in the headset for now.

The stick I'm using the Logitech Extreme 3d Pro. Another problem I'm having is that trying to slew the radar pipper to the stick's HAT it only went up and right and I couldn't get it to go down or left.

Something about floating in the air following another jet and then ending up floating in space for the AAR just makes me nauseous. I can't do Universe Sandbox in VR either. I would love an option to just go back to the cockpit menu after getting shot down. I had to stop after about 20 minutes in a random lobby and lay on the couch.

Other than that, great game.

Got same issue, hand tracking from quest 3 kinda works, but it starts to break HOTAS control

Some kind of a deadzone when hands are close to hotas stick would be nice

can anyone tell me exactly how youre getting your hotas to work? Im using a tflight one and i installed the mod i tried both the byoj and the one that starts with a t i forget name rn sorry, but anyway the best i could get it was assign everything and it reads it and everything works in game except the pitch and roll , is there something im doing wrong or does it not work, because ive read places hotas wont work too now. also i turned on skeleton hands and have a quest 3 and using VD but its not finding my hands either, is there a setup im missing too? I literally just got it and started playing yesterday, coming from msfs 20&24, not even through all tutorials yet and i have mod manager etc so im going in blind here lol, TIA.

Hand tracking isn't fully supported yet

@meager dome can we have option to disable hand tracking in the game until it's supported properly? Right now the only way I think is to disable hand tracking on quest completely.

Also, hand tracking quality imho is quite good (in well lit room), should work with hotas quite nicely in theory.

I don’t think I have enabled it to begin with. Are you on PC with VD or something? I think it adds hand tracking where it isn’t supported natively

yes, PC with VD, I have "Forward tracking data to PC" on. Some games use this for hand tracking. VFM seems to fallback to treat hands as controllers (so you can't click anything) . I am not a VR dev, I can't check is this a openxr/steamvr behavior when hand tracking is disabled. Also I think quest3 can provide not just hands but whole upper body tracking.

Honestly whole OpenXR/SteamVR runtime thing feels very messy.

Hm yeah I haven't had much time with VD so not sure how exactly it interacts. I'll see about making it work better
