Was unable to find any dupes, although this feels like a common suggestion, send em if you find em.

Similar to the RadioMusic folder letting us choose our own music in game, there should be a “ResourcePack” folder.

Alternatively, you could make it a workshop feature, allowing players to subscribe to audio and texture edits, and then apply them using an In game UI

What this would do is allow players to change certain basic textures that are controlled by the game, to allow people more customization, but not give any explicit advantage.

Examples for texture edits:
RWR
Background on blank MFDs
Certain infantry camos (so that way the Opfor aren’t running the MW2 Russian camo)

Similar to the Minecraft resource packs system, it would also allow for audio changes, in this department I think it would be fine for this to be a system where players have complete control, as certain sounds like the guns and missiles are a bit low quality and dated, and the cockpit notifications while good, would be nice if they could be changed to something mimicking real aircraft, or just go crazy and replace it with Legion from titanfall.

As far as textures go, there would certainly be places you could 100% get an advantage (such as making all terrain solid colors to make aircraft pop more) so I don’t believe the player should have control over things like that, but as far as audio and certain MFDs, I don’t see that being unfair, and having an official system would allow it to be more accessible to change textures and sounds, without having to play with modded lobbies or using tools to do so.

Also, additionally, as a kind of countermeasure. Add a tick on the lobby menu that would allow the host to turn off texture edits if he deems them unfair. This way if it’s later determined that texture edits are in fact unfair, it will be at the host discretion.

The MW2 camo in question btw

Wouldn't call it a dupe moreso a smart way to condense several posts under one feature

Yea yea but like rwr skins custom light colors stuff like that

#

Falls under resource pack type deals

Actually I just realized if we would be allowed to do complete unit texture changes we could make the SU57 look like a SU57 and I think that would be neat

T55 cockpit in the 26

I think red RWR would be neat

If this gets added first thing in doing is updating all the gun sounds

#

I want the gau8 to sound CHUNKY

#

Because right now it sounds like ASS

I would hope someone ports the t55s cockpit into the 26

Because I would actually fly it then

singualr lock sounds for different threat radars

Basically incorporate cheeses sound mod in with a texture equivalent and make it base game

I wouldn't think so considering the cockpits are rendered client side (if they aren't then there's an issue there)

I can pull your ejection handle

#

It doesn’t actually eject you but it is an object I can grab

azure escarp
#

Yea for the 2 seaters they are but for the single seaters ie 26b they shouldn't be

Because there’s no collision I was able to get into another guys jet and yell at them over the radio while ripping their ejection handle and flipping them off
