#Missiles should have an effective range limit dictated by the battery powering its systems.

the rang is already pretty short, so i dont think limiting the battery on the missiles would help.

I belive thats the point. going high and fast does mean radar and enemy planes can see you and attack you. but certain missiles with limited amount and high cost can attack those radar anyway.

also angels 40 to 45 mach 1 is enough to kill anything in the map from one corner of the map directly to the other

#

you could be in the safety of your airbase and snipe shit 100 nm away from you

inner knoll
#

With what. the 145?

lean skiff
#

oh yeah 188

inner knoll
#

If thats the case then it is a bit stupid that they can go that far.

lean skiff
#

yup

#

used to be worse back when the f45a instantly got an accurate location for anything that pinged it with radar just once

but i guess that's assuming target is asl 0

i swear I've done it

#

although it's been months so maybe I'm misremembering the details

First we need bigger more optimized maps.

#

Limited flight time would just make gameplay closer and feel faster. I think minus the stupid crazy range of 145s and 88s and stuff, it’s fine

#

no MATTER what speed you're going

#

no MATTER THE ALTITUDE

#

it will not go past 45 miles

#

and the AGM188 isn't AV42 exclusive, its also on the EF24G

#

I've tried going mach 2 and launching a 188, it doesn't get past like 33 miles.

#

the 188 has the shortest range of all air to ground missiles

tardy skiff
#

Doesn’t the 188 prioritize a top down attack?

leaden frost
#

Which is why it has zero fucking range lol

#

Saying that it can cross the map is blatant misinformation

lean skiff
#

i thought it was just a funky 88

oh fair

leaden frost
#

also most people use bombs

#

and you need quite the parameters to get the aim120D to go that far lol

#

it was under a controlled test

#

90% of the launch parameters seen in game won't let you get this type of distance

#

cuz the 120D and 54C were launched at mach 2+

#

at like 50K

#

most people aren't that high or that fast in combat

#

the usual launch parameters in this game is like 5-35 miles lol

#

most people aren't doing 500 mile shots in this game vro

#

💔

#

my own record is hardly 212nmi with the 54C during a test to check how powerful the ef24's radar glitch was

I honestly think this is a good suggestion, it doesn't really make much sense to have AAMs and ARMs able to go across the map with the only limitation being the KE and PE available to the missile.

Coming back to this post, an AMRAAM was just tested with a software update and hit a new record

I seriously doubt battery life is a factor that would have any impact, especially on gameplay

#

yeah it could be 1mm more that was caused by being slightly higher or it being slightly colder or hotter

hard sky
#

why yes, the amraam range record does indeed belong to the amraam
