It's quite easy in the 94 and 42 to shoot the gimballed guns when they are in fact at gimbal limit. The only way to know is to look out the window and see the crosshair being off target, or realising the rounds are going way off target, which implies already firing towards a random place (suboptimal).
What can be done :
- adding GUN GIMBAL LIMIT messages to the TADS (like TADS gimbal limit message) and HMCS
- adding a safety toggleable in SMS so that the gun will not fire if not on target
the 1st option is way more useful, but the 2nd at least makes sure you aren't indiscriminately spraying cannon rounds.
