Pilot controls loyal wingman drones to attack air or surface targets while never having to get close to the enemy.
Carrier launched drones allows the capability for getting them up if you're flying over the ocean or airfields are limited.
So, can the pilot stay at the base and control the loyal wingman drones from the ground?
What is the point of the pilot flying in an aircraft?

While this is good, it appears that the community doesn’t like anything that adds much new. "No new features" but it’s fun.
I do like this suggestion but I’m telling you flat out people will very likely not upvote this
Aircraft in my opinion should be based on both new features and fun, not just the same old slop.
This does sounds good, the main new things are IRCM, and a transparent canopy
To be honest the other stuff like electro optical stuff is similar to the F-45A
Anyways, good luck, I hope the community doesn’t shoot this down.
i mean we have the f/a26 (sorta like an f16 era multirole fighter), f45 (5th gen with a touchscreen display), ah94 for multicrew heli, t55 for multicrew plane and ef24 for multicrew plane with a new feature (jammers and guided decoys)
those pretty much cover every aircraft in the modern era besides a supermaneuverable air superiority fighter which besides agility would be really similar to an f45, or going back in time to before mfds or even cold war jets maybe even propeller planes
A customizable cockpit would be nice
However, I’m not sure if this fits the game. The F-45A is already very stealthy with internals, imagine how stealthy this would be
It sounds like a good aircraft design but in the current state of VTOL VR, cannot be added in my opinion.
the f45 does have a good implementation of what a plane using a helmet instead of a hud could feel like to fly but i notice it feels like you still have a hud and jhmcs the way the main symbology stays at the front
Yeah. It’s not a bad suggestion by any means, but it is too modern and too advanced for the current state, so for that I’m nuetral
fair enough
how could it work differently ?
not really the best examples theyre just from vrchat worlds and the first video is just the default hud but covering the whole cockpit so nothing follows the camera
Read more about the Tempest concept👉https://www.forces.net/news/tempest-building-fighter-jet-future
Virtual cockpits and drones for wingmen are just some of the options being looked at for Britain’s next-generation fighter jet. The Tempest project, a joint venture between five defence companies, aims to give the UK a cutting edge in air combat ...
I could see this having a bigger front rcs, but smaller side rcs (since no vert stabs)
Tbh a 6th gen fighter could be neat in vtol
cause vtol is in a unique position to kinda show off what 6th gen combat with manned-unmanned could look like
yeah their cockpit concept is nutty
They're basically playing vtol irl but with hand tracking lol
irl the point of having manned/unmanned teaming flying with each other is for EW reasons
Having the transmitter/controller being in the fight in formation with drones drastically reduces latency and reduces the overall amount of links in the kill chain
and UI-wise you aren't flying around the drones from the ground like they're rc boats. They're flying with you and all you would have to do is designate a target on the TSD and the drone with the best PK can take a pot shot
gameplay-wise it would basically be a more streamlined version of interacting with the base game ai wingmen
it could also be expanded upon if one of the main focuses of this plane would be bot wingmen
A 6th gen with manned/unmanned could be really neat in vtol but it could also be a feature implemented for the 45 rather than a dedicated aircraft
although side looking radar would be neat for a 6th gen lol
if its high altitude and is meant to be bad in terms of dogfight/high aoa performance, the intakes could be mounted on the top kinda in the body, which would make high AOA a nightmare, but stealth would be better and bay size would be bigger
that would be kinda sweet honestly
it makes me wonder though i swear the ffr-41 mave had top mounted intakes or maybe that's only for the ramjet mode
Uhh can you read .....
What you mean. It's a video game you can add anything you want 🙄🙄
No I can’t, I’m not a developer silly.
The 6th gen is too advanced for now.
Simply put, it would outrange, out stealth ANYTHING
If you are flying a 45 or 24 in a pve mission, you can just stay at ground and use data link to control your wingman to finish the objective. Is this enough to be your reason staying at ground in pve mission?
it also kind of takes away the point of the game being you know a flying game
honestly kind of a weird angle to look at
But the main features of your 6th gen fighter are that it is vulnerable and never needs to get close to the enemy.
its sort of an idea i had for balancing to make it vulnerable because i felt like most people would like some kind of challenge, and they definitely wouldnt like it if it had the full airplane dictionary thrown at it
you can shoot missiles on the ground and theres not anything in place preventing it because that doesnt make most people go "why even take off if i can shoot planes down without flying"
#vtolvr_chat message unless you mean actually flying it but that's just taking off and pressing altitude hold
thats from a conversation about a flyable awacs
Is the main gameplay different from your plane?
Turn on autopilot and command other AI fighters.
yes
The autopilot is a big part of keeping the fighter single-seat.
and
And
Pilot controls loyal wingman drones to attack air or surface targets while never having to get close to the enemy.
yep
So it is a small awacs without radar.
like someone else said controlling drones isn't a feature that would have to be unique to a new plane, you could add it to the f45 which carries all the weapons you want but would your experience with that one just be "take off and turn on autopilot"
