JHMCS Alignment Procedure

A setting in the main menu to toggle HMD auto align on/off.

If set to on, the HMD will be automatically aligned upon startup. (Default)

If set to off, the HMD requires the pilot to align it. Poor alignment can cause problems with the HMD in flight.

This feature increases realism in VTOL without affecting the gameplay in a major way.

It increases realism. It’s an option that is off by default

But if you want to make it more realistic you can turn it on

Some people enjoy realism. Perhaps more realism is more fun for them

I'm a fan of adding more realistic mechanics if it adds something to or enhances a gameplay loop. This is just another checklist step that doesn't give you anything extra if you do it and would be skipped by most people.

#vtolvr_chat message I mean that I won't add things for the sake of realism if those things only make it harder without making it more fun. If realism aspect is missing, and adding it would make things more fun or immersive without just being a chore to deal with, then great!

Yeah we've (I've) reached that point. I realize that this suggestion is pretty hollow, and pretty much is just an extra chore

This is basically a VR “press F to pay respects” that people would think is cool the first time, and then turn off, because it’s annoying.
