#G - Limiter More Options

Hi! I was flying in the F/A 26B and while trying to evade a missle turned the g limiter off and then snapped all the hardpoints off in a 12G+ maneuver and I thought to my self: Why do the hardponits snap? And my point with this post is to simply request that there is an option to have the g limiter only go to right before the hardpoints snap. OR, if that is what it is already doing, can you make the hardpoints not snap off?
Love the game, just, this felt weird.

adding an option to the knob to bring up the g-limit to 11-12 (while makes 100% sense lore-wise) kinda defeats the point of the hardpoints snapping mechanic for people who over do it

As C-137 said

Being able to adjust the g-limiter to just before it damages you trivializes g-pulling a LOT, as it's currently skill based

oh, sorry. I didn't realize

#

but i shal just have to git gud

proven scaffold
#

tho not like gpulling takes that much skill currently

mystic oar
#

i had JUST been introed to the topic

proven scaffold
#

i kinda wish prox fuses get buffed so if you wanna gpull a missile you gotta really work it with lead and heavy g's

#

but idk then the 26 would end up being mega nerfed

scarlet abyss
#

it has all the same advantages of missile intercepting (if not more) and all it takes is a little bit of practice to get decent at

#

just notch

#

easier and dosent involve the risk of snapping your wings

undone herald
#

shoot aim120, put target on gimbal limit of radar while diving, once missile pitbulls on you, turn to 90*, drop intermittent chaff

undone herald
#

this is what i mean

#

it looks complicated but its extremely easy

cobalt nebula
#

shoot counter missiles ? cringe

cobalt nebula
#

i don’t think i ever Gpull, i keep the limiter on

#

cranking is SOP ever since it was invented in the 80s

#

by some USAF weapons school student lol

shy ember
# undone herald this is what i mean

The issue with notching is if the enemy gpulls at step 4, they are now nose hot, their STT has been locking you the whole time so their 120 has a much better track than yours, and they are ready to shoot another missile immediately, while you are now on the defensive with no radar lock with no choice but to run

undone herald
#

Or notch their radar so their STT lock drops

#

Ive noticed, even without chaffing, if you just turn 90* to the radar they cannot see you

cobalt nebula
#

that’s why you shoot a fox 3 tho

#

make them defensive too

#

i don’t know i don’t do PvP so maybe it only applies there

undone herald
#

double tap, they use all their energy in the gpull so they wont gpull the second

shy ember
undone herald
#

space them out by 2-5 sec

#

if you shoot 2 at the same time theyre gonna gpull both

#

that why you leave a gap between firing

cobalt nebula
#

yeah i don’t know anything about Gpulling, i understand its meta in VTOL but it’s unrealistic as far as i know. So i’m not interested

undone herald
cobalt nebula
#

can you Gpull in every plane ?

undone herald
#

if baha adds better prox fuses to vtol then gpulling is out of the question

weary tartan
undone herald
#

how so

shy ember
#

Honestly I'd probably say notching isn't realistic at all with modern radars like we have in vtol

undone herald
#

gpull missile > missile blows up beneth you > your entire bottom now has holes and most likely failures

cobalt nebula
#

as long as it’s doppler it cant see you

#

*filtered doppler

undone herald
#

Yeah but your gonna have a giant hole in your wing making you disadvantaged, so your most likely dead anyways

#

or an engine failure

#

out of every engagement that has heaters involved, ive never seen someone get hit by one and not take any signifigant damage

#

??????

#

i have almost 500 hours

#

ok

shy ember
cobalt nebula
#

damage does matter tho

undone herald
#

I mean like the 9+, 9, and AIRS-T

G-pulling is a much more consistent strategy for defending missiles than chaffing, and it allows you to maintain an offensive nose position while also actively defending. when you're cranking missiles and notching, you're unable to shoot missiles back, allowing the enemy to apply pressure to you and get closer to you

wintry relic
#

9Es too just dont do enough damage sometimes to effect the target

the DCS g pulling is incredibly goofy and is entirely different than vtol's
