#Potential laser code system rework
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
there's already HUD symbology for spotting somebody else's laser mark
and with your proposed change you can only do 1 thing at a time, either lase or drop (which isn't THAT usefull but a weird limitation)
IRL you can both set the laser code for the pod of ownship to a code, and seeker code of the weapons specifically to a different code or same code
Im not really understanding, what exactly is this suggesting?
You'd still need two codes though right? There's tons of situations where you want to lase for someone else while on a different seek code
Seek and lase are fundamentally two different concepts, its extremely useful to be able to set them different to each other, why combine them?
Im just basing this off my very initial encounter with laser. I dont see why the average vtol player is using 2 codes at once.
The MFD page still stands as a good suggestion I think.
Theres hud symboligy for speed, altitude, aspect and yet theres repeaters inside the cockpit.
my bad, it's actually on the TGP page already
and it should also be on the HUD IMO
I’m pretty sure it is also shown on the HMD
it might, I couldn't quickly find a picture of it and haven't seen it myself yet🤷
But like the average player is just going to press the seek button and be done with it?
I don't really get what "problem" splitting the pages solves
idk, me and a mate had some major confusion between des and aqu. we are pretty thick. tgp open am I guiding my own stuff or someone else guiding me? we had no prior knowledge of the system so i was just spit balling ideas to make it noob intuitive. this sim is for casual players so I think the systems should make an effort to explain themselves in design.
the noob intuitive thing is that it defaults to SELF and you don't HAVE to use it😅
it's there if you want, and the "rules" are pretty simple
I think the updated version you posted makes less sense tbh. I had to re read it several times, and still am confused about parts of it.
I don’t think there’s much more the game could do to make it clear, you have one button that sets what your bombs go for, and one button that sets what you are designating as. A quick google search will also explain it well
Obscuring things behind multiple pages or giving less control over the system would make it far less intuitive for most people, especially if they look things up online and then are confused why it’s different in game
