#HUD/HMCS Text size options

I have over 500 VTOL flight hours at last count, but I struggle to improve at flying these aircraft because I can't read any data on the HUD/HMD. I have vision issues that make the HUD/HMD data unreadable on every aircraft except (maybe) the F/A-26B and the AV-42C. I'd love to see a way to make the text/symbology bigger

What headset do you use?

I know this wouldn't be a big deal to most people, but to the few it would help, it would be huge

HUD/HMCS Text size options

I know there are guidlines about bumping posts, but I do want people to see this thread because I want to know if this would even be possible. Maybe not be able to scale the HUD, but I see no reason why the HMCS data couldn't be variable in size. I apologize for continuing to bring this up, but this is the last major thing keeping me from my dreams of feeling like a true fighter pilot. It's kinda hard to fly precisely when you only have a rough guess of your heading, altitude, airspeed, AOA, Current Gs etc.

Do you have your resolution really low? Personally I’ve never had a problem reading unless my resolution is below 60%, but this feature could definitely help som people

have you tried prescription lenses inside the googles ?
my eyesight is healthy so i don’t know anything about glasses but sounds to me like you can’t see things that are far away (like HUD text)

i’ll check

#

it’s like that in thr game

#

when you watch recordings with depth of field

#

the HUD is clear

#

because it’s far away

I would have thought that a HUD would function similar to a red dot sight where the info is just projected onto a pane of glass

wild

#

does that still apply when the HUD is caged?

spring socket
#

Like in an F/A - 18 for example, you can cage the HUD so the pitch ladder doesn't move horizontally. This is really useful for when you are coming in to land

#

at least, that's how it works in DCS

i have no idea, i would guess yes

#

do you wear glasses IRL, to see stuff far away ?

spring socket
#

My vision is deemed "non-correctable" which is a fancy way of saying glasses don't work

#

but I do use my phone or a magnifier to zoom in, or if it's something far away, binoculars or a monocular

right, i dunno if there is a fix then

#

i don’t know how much bigger the text would need to be, and wether or not it would even matter

Like I said at the top, having the ability to increase the size of the text/symbology would help, however I understand that HUD space is limited. Even being able to increase the HMCS data size means I would be able to get bearing, altitude, airspeed, and weapon info at a minimum.

#

Because I CAN read the HUD/HMCS data on the AV-42

okay, well i hope you get the help
