#F-111 Style Tactical Bombing/Interdiction Aircraft
1 messages · Page 4 of 1
and that's good! all of the VTOL aircraft feel the same to fly, and they may have their differences, sure, but still...
little guy hiding in the corner
just a quick question
is it closer to 4th gen or 5th gen
cause i think it should be a 4.5 gen i think
(tsd and some basic datalink)
but no stealth coating
so 4th gen style MFD's but with a tsd page
Cockpit mechanics and flight model would be closer to 4th or even 3rd gen, mostly with its instruments, but exterior would be more like 4.5 due to radar absorbent materials and other stealth shaping construction
Ah interesting
The main thing is that it shouldn’t be as easy as the EF-24 to use
I'd kill for a f22 esque tsd on the mfds
I feel like considering it's a bomber/ground strike having a tsd would be helpful for target acquisition
Esp when dealing with gps with data linked tracks
It’d have an MFD for either side I’m sure, but not like that.
She’s a repurposed old airframe, think older B-1Bs or the images above
How about something akin to the b2 spirit cockpit
Nah, too modern
I wanna give the vibe that this is an old airframe brought back into service, or something that exists because nothing has replaced it yet
Ah fair enough then
B-2 is an old platform
Well, it's formal introduction date is 97
That puts it somewhat on par with raptor tech, slightly older if we go on first flights
late 1980s technology
We must go older
Really I just don’t want it to feel like an EF-24 with MFDs
like I said several weeks ago, no iPad baby cockpit, i want a challenge
@fiery osprey another feature I feel like this should have is some sort of navigation system (simplified FMS maybe?) where you can input multiple waypoints along a route and the altitude that they're supposed to be flown at. Could also tie in the terrain following radar if the alt is below like 200 AGL. Would make it much easier to fly and bomb solo
I feel like using the already existing waypoint system and a custom TFR script would be better for that, but not a bad idea
I just wish I could actually make my plane follow a route
the current system not only doesn't allow me to set multiple waypoints up so I don't have to go into the GPST page every five seconds, it also has no regard for previous positions and will recalculate a straight line trajectory even if the point where I set the direct was miles away and I end up off course
I’ve used the GPS Waypoint system to operate like that, since as long as you specify altitude of the point it will follow to that point in a straight line.
TFR would definitely help you not hit the ground along your way tho
I meant more of something like if you wanted to fly on a specific line from point A to point B. maybe imagine some canyons on either side of the line. If you come in perpendicular to point A, you will overshoot as normal, but then you will end up on a completely different line starting wherever you managed to reorient yourself towards point B
@fiery osprey made a diagram showing what I was talking about, felt I wasn't nearly clear enough before
You can do scenario B
You just need to put in multiple GPS points and set to path
It will automatically set the next gps point as your waypoint when flying thru it
Yes, but it would follow your requested thing if done correctly
all of them will be slightly off-course since all of them behave as individual waypoints and not as connected waypoints
this would happen
Well yeah
So put more gps waypoints to accomodate
You can't program it to follow the initial course IIRC
You have to brute-force it
hmm
Id much prefer a AV-42 rework/buff
The name checks out.
@fiery osprey red instrument lights and green CRT displays would go so hard on this thing
Oh, that… that is gorgeous
I never thought about restricting the MFDs to one color...
it's a tantalizing thought
especially since the displays we have in VTOL currently are more similar to this than they are to actual military MFDs
I think F-16 mod uses a different color scheme for its MFDs
so it's definitely possible
restricting it to just shades of green would totally sell the vintage feel
that, and those gorgeous red instrument lights
That and a noise texture to emulate old CRTs
that AND make them curved like actual CRTs aswell
one of the reasons I love the CRJ so much... all CRTs babyyy
@fiery osprey Also, since the F111 is going to be the first vehicle with a pressurized cockpit instead of an oxygen mask, would it not add just the tiniest bit of time to the preflight to have to turn that on? You could also add some extra workload by making you have to adjust the cabin altitude manually.
it's either that or make the preflight a realistic amount of time, which I guess would be "little timmy proofing"
With start up complexity, it's best to take the lowest common denominator
So pretty much make it the same as other aircraft
but it's 4 switches to start all of the VTOL aircraft currently, and it takes less than 30 seconds
I'd just make the engines like the ah-94
make them use more power on start-up so you need to start the engines 1 by 1
pressurizing the cabin seems like a weird thing to implement when there are more interesting switches to flip
I guess... what interesting switches are there in Baha's simplified model that aren't just turning on avionics?
It's best assumed that the person flying it has very little experience (considering vtols player base)
So keeping things as is should be fine
very little experience, but they're flying in something that having that little experience will get you killed in a heartbeat... makes sense
that goes for all VTOL aircraft
VTOL is just simplified, it has switches where it makes sense
not just for switches to flip switches
Many times I've played with people who didn't even see the tutorials and at least knows how to cold start and take off
still, I feel like there should be a less baby-fied startup procedure for an aircraft that is quite literally going to be decades behind the others in development
IIRC it's a modernized old aircraft
but again, having switches just to have switches is IMO bad
here's a cockpit mockup I made for Atlantis. Not simple
taking your cabin pressurization for example
what would the gameplay behind that be?
why do I need to flip that switch?
not switches just to have switches, stuff like fuel pumps, hydraulics, stuff that would be manual on a jet which is supposed to have a late 70s/early 80s cockpit
at least in this "modernized" version
I simply don't agree, complexity for the sake of having complexity is not a good idea
Cabin pressure would be interesting for hypoxia but yeah, probably too complex
Most of the complexity is gonna be from the weapons regardless
I still want a more than 4 second flow when I start my aircraft
Currently researching on how to implement INS guidance for fun
oh that'll be fun to see low-hour players try and figure out
we can do that easily as I said above
I just watched the dcs f-15e start-up, and the engine section took like 5 seconds with fuel pumps and generators
so it doesn't even add that much time
IMO that's a really bad take
making it complex to see new guys struggle
it should be intuitive if you're gonna make it more complex
most cockpits are
not in VTOL
it's not my mod so you can do what you want, but you'd probably get more people to enjoy it if it was somewhat easy to understand
checklist
Startup probably won’t be too difficult, but flying it will be another thing. Especially since I’m not even sure if the F-111 even had a flight computer outside of TFR
Oh and it also had mechanical locks for wing fold, which shocked me
As in the cockpit lever physically locks in place to prevent it from swinging
it's certainly not FBW
if you pull too hard you break the aircraft
Especially with external weapons, good luck not ripping your wings
again IMO a bad choice, but go ahead
“Overspeed? What’s that? Where did my wings go?”
Considering the real thing was speed locked to Mach .56 when the wings had non-rotating pylons, I’d say that’s an appropriate sacrifice
Not to mention how HEAVY that would be
It's not like this is going out to everyone, it's going to the people that actually want a challenge in flying and operating their aircraft
is there gonna be any sort if indication to the pilot?
or will it just self combust
Definitely will have an overspeed indicator for sure
loud beeping noise
again, go ahead, but you'll really limit your audience
I know someone is adding it to their structurally questionable airplane mod anyways, so I know it’s possible
Nah don’t say that
It won’t be easy to fly but anyone could fly it with enough practice
It’d just operate different
No crazy maneuvers, but good for A to B
And long-range engagements, or even WVR in inclement weather
Tho nighttime operations would be rougher with it
What I meant was it'll actually prove a challenge to fly compared to other aircraft (maybe even the A-10), and that will lend itself to generally being flown by better pilots
The A-10 would be the best idea on how it would fly honestly, but faster and given more weapons.
And maybe nukes?
definitely nukes.
you'd have to get your ass out of there quick tho
So about that… look up the AGM-69 SRAM
Part of why I’m trying to figure out INS, on top of other fun things
blast radius of 160 km... You do realize the largest VTOL map is 196x196km?
the blast would encompass an entire VTOL map and then some
wait
no
1.06 km
i'm stupid
Yeah nah it ain’t that powerful
tsar bomba for VTOL when
still a good 3.53km^2 of destruction
hehe, talk about switches just to add switches, imagine a toggleable INS somewhere in the cockpit that would replace the NAVMAP and you'd have to set it up and wait the 8-15mins for it to align
need me this bad boy
and for those of you who would say this is too complicated, at least it's not the one on the original thing
good luck trying to reach the correct switch with VR controls
yup, that's why we ain't using that one
anyways it's 5:41 in the morning, I'ma go to bed
waiting for INS allignment isn't fun
however doing airborne INS realignment with the ground radar, when GPS isn't available could be interesting
that's kinda what I meant by the pressurization controls, if you make them manual you can have the airframe explode if your cabin to outside air pressure difference is too high, also hypoxia
that's not gonna happen, you'd never have a reason to go above 1 bar, which isn't that much
0ft cabin alt at 50,000 feet is gonna cause problems...
maybe i’m wrong but pressurising sounds like you just do one more switch
Can’t wait to asphyxiate because I forgot to flick the air switch before going above 40k ft
-150 elo
imagine going above 1000ft in the F-111 anyways
Real
NO PVP >:(
lmfao
IR seeker cooling switch, that ought to keep the PvPers away (they don’t touch any cockpit buttons)
Only switch in the cockpit I care about is the g limiter
fuel transfer switches, that oughtta keep PvPers away (they don't know what "center of mass" means)
Oh and the master arm
Sometimes the various startup switches bc I gotta shut it down to rearm
"various startup switches" it's 4 switches vro 🥀
Couldn’t tell you what they are
Battery, APU, left & right engine 💔🔨
Never heard of them
Why do I need to know how to start the plane when the mission already has it started
average KC-46 pilot thinking
need to make the carrier KC-49 capable
yes, make the carrier able to aerial refuel 🗣️
even better yeah
ngl I would pay good money to see good mods get made for VTOL, especially this and maybe some larger aircraft like the 49
and some people would love to develop them for a living
If there was some team of developers making truly high fidelity planes for VTOL, coded and modeled from scratch, I would happily pay whatever price they set
we should get Just Flight in on this shit lol
They exist, but they do it for free lol
Namely C, of course
But a few others are working on some pretty high-quality mods that I’ve seen in the works
Same
hehe
I have offered to bank roll people in games from ArmA 3 to SS13 to VTOL VR.
I commission skin and sprite artists constantly. It's modelers I can never seem to find.
It's not a matter of funding, it's a matter of finding them to begin with.
I’m actually learning to model! Starting with custom weapons and working up from there
129 dislikes to get rid of
@fiery osprey https://youtu.be/FfmxA_NHpgQ?t=78 take a look at around the 1:18 mark
F-4 Phantom Mod / Not an official VTOL VR aircraft
Music: House of the Rising Sun Instrumental
VTOL VR mods available at https://vtolvr-mods.com
do you see what I see?? (:<
Not rly, what do you see?
look at the HUD
and judging by the fact that a lot of mod planes have custom HUDs, relatively easy to do
We beat the haters!
Also btw, ik I'm kinda lazy but how many bombs could it carry?
Cause 26 is abt 30ish iirc
33, all GPS guided
That all sdbs or a mix of full size and sdbs?
mix
Ah cool
since you cannot get SDBs on every pylon
iirc there’s 4 pylons that allow 39s, rest are triple racks of 38s
Which means 16 GBU39s
17 GBU38s?
Wait no hold on a minute it’d be 34 GPS guided bombs
18 GBU38s
I think?
Unless my math is all goofed
I'll have to check manually
50-60 bombs total for Mk. 82 series bombs
Though I see no reason why GBU-38s should be any different, as they’re the same size as Mk. 82s typically
bomb ripple lmao
People will be getting the bomber they want
and i know this has probs been mentioned
but the slam-er you suggested, is it an exclusive weapon?
It most likely would be, unless it were carried over to the F/A-26
Yup the GBU-38 and 12 are literally just a MK-82 with a guidance package
@craggy bison ^

no eyeball on helmet liveries despite 754:2 like/dislike ratio 😔
(I’m modding this)
same picture
Though the GBU12 is significantly longer due to its guidance package
Yeah, I could only squeeze 4 GBU-12s into the belly bay because of that
I assume you can fit more of the less "sophisticated" bombs in? Or would there just be empty space
Empty space unfortunately
damn
how many hydras can you put on it (:<
56 a pylon on the externals
so 448?
Yes
although it would be 224 with the wings unlocked
You’d sacrifice speed for that (wing sweep locked)
Yeah and IIRC the weapons would also lock the wing sweep somewhat due to how big the 56-pylons are
do you get back the wingsweep if you jettison these pylons that lock the wing sweep?
I believe it would be possible yeah
nice!
Though I’m not sure. It might be locked in place like the F-16’s
if the F111's wing sweep had a mechanical lock, does that mean you would have to install a separate lock and sweep lever detent if you had the hydras?
The main feature of add-ons from GKS is an incredibly high level of elaboration of the visual model, attention to the smallest details and the implementation of aircraft systems, which allows you to feel the maximum degree of realism in MSFS2020 flights
In this addon you will be pleased with the following features:
-Cockpit systems and instrum...
Check this video out for the cockpit of the F-111
I see. So it had switches that would restrict the wing sweep?
You can see the wing sweep mechanism with physical switches to essentially to force the locked positions from the cockpit
Yep!
This was really fascinating to learn when I researched
ooo another thing to add difficulty, make the weapons destroy themselves if you forget that switch
or fixed stores
Pylon ripping off the wingtip
Side by side seater bomber aircraft sounds fun af with a friend haha
I know right? Lots of opportunity for bullshittery to happen, and the immersion would be insane
wait, is it yoke style or hotas style?
...center stick? like the real thing?
I assume there will be a sidestick option
it would block some stuff on the pedestal tho
Accessibility is important imo
I'm sure the sidestick would be similar to the 94's, off to the side of that panel
Same
I’d make it partly sidestick dw
@fiery osprey this little joystick for the TSD and TV ordinance would be kinda cool... might be a little weird with a sidestick there tho
(also you would have to do weird code shit with it, so idk now)
F-16-like force feedback stick
Also not like the AH-94 doesn’t have two sets of sticks
it does, but they're not separate 😅
oh wait
you meant the throttle and collective 😅
One is the TEDAC the other is the cyclic
There is a major difference here
I was meaning the implementation of two sticks @lost compass
Ah, yeah that makes sense, that’s already possible
what in the actual hell is that
i think it looks sick
mini B-2
hold up tho, give it swing wings so it can actually land, and you’ve cooked hard
or like extendable wings
...
B-70 wings.
@crude sinew you just described this post "give it swing wings so it can land on a carrier" lol
now it may not be as sleek or as stealthy but it sure is similar
Not.. really..
one wants 60 500lb bombs on the wings the other wants them inside the plane
The major difference is also one is a tailless aircraft
Without a vertical stabilizer
what I meant is they're similar in the fact that they're both low altitude, (relatively) high speed penetrators that just happen to both be (somewhat) geared towards stealth (with the exception of the external ordinance on the 111)
LAP/A-12 mix might be cooler than a side by side EF-24
The FBW:
(not to say carped bombing civilians wouldn't be fun)
If you want difficult to fly, fly an F117 without FA on
Civilians?
kind of a shallow thought there, I meant difficult in all aspects (e.g. only a rudimentary HUD, steam gauge instruments, like 2 MFDs total, etc, etc) along with its flight characteristics, that's why I said "difficult to pilot" and not "difficult to fly"
I mean..
You still get the same info, just from different places now

Like the viggen and tomcat in dcs, you get most of the info you need from the instruments.. they’re not that difficult to pilot
Correction: in the viggen you get 97% of your info from instruments
If you want difficult to pilot; remove the velocity vector
That's... what I said
"only a rudimentary hud"
The viggen has a velocity vector and has basically nothing on its HUD.
there is a reticle and a rudimentary launch zone along with a velocity vector
Nothing else
this post kinda became a low tech aircraft, but that doesn't make sense if it's also stealthy and stuff
give us an F-4 for the real low tech DLC
no.
F-24A ?
Rather than replacing mfds with steam gauges
this doesn’t make a plane difficult to pilot
it doesn’t change how it handles or how it behaves
It only changes where you get your aircraft’s information from

I mean... most of the early stealth concepts were from the 70s... it's not like they had very advanced cockpits then
And it makes zero sense to me
That we’d have
A super low tech aircraft
In a futuristic aircraft game
They had advanced enough to have a flight assist that countered the glaring issues of the F117.
Just my opinion on it
It's not going to be super low tech. One MFD for the pilot, two MFDs for the WSO. The current 4th gen aircraft are around that mark, and they use "steam" gauges for engines and secondaries. The HUD is going to be low tech, yes, but it's supplemented by a whole host of targeting systems, computers, number displays, all that jazz
this aircraft's whole schtick was going to be that it was brought back from the scrapyard since they needed a bomber...
They
Didn’t need a bomber
That’s the issue
???
Modern bombing is about precision
I meant "BDynamics Aerospace Co." or some shit, not "We the People"
modern bombers are only really kept in service for cruise missiles and mass use of gliding precision ordnance
that’s what I fucking meant.
Please read this
There’s a reason the navy doesn’t have bombers anymore
They have multiroles because they are just better in every way
I will say again that carrying more bombs is a shitty excuse for gameplay mechanics
"mass use of gliding precision ordinance" that's what this thing is supposed to be able to do
then why is it only spoken of carrying mk82s and 83s
???
And when in gods name do you even need 33+ bombs in one sortie
I’ve never seen it happen in game
Ever.
oop
I dont see mention of SDBs which are a better option
Keep going king
But why is there such a large focus on showing what it looks like with 500lb unguided bombs
*GBU
I’d prefer seeing it loaded with high precision ordnance like GBU53s
or GBU39s
Or 38s
JDAMs etc
it's an example photo meant to show off the thing's carrying capacity 🤦♂️
Yes
carrying capacity of dumb bombs
where's the example of carrying capacity of precision ordnance?
I don't think people will be using dumb bombs too much, because most don't
most use guided bombs in this game
GBU-38s are exactly 5.6 inches longer than Mk.82s. You can fit the exact same number on there.
what about GBU12s?
GBU24s?
how about GBU32s?
31s?
what about the GBU28, can it carry those?
If I wanted a new ef24 that has a focus on bombs instead of jamming, i'd want a gbu28
from howitzer barrel to laser guided bomb
where can I see references of this carrying its AGMs too?
I'd like to see its capacity of those
what about the AGM161?
or AGM89?
how many HARMs can it carry?
does it use 88 shorts or long?
what about fuel economy?
how many miles to the gallon does it do on the interstate?
what tyres does it use? are they goodyear?
or pirelli?
maybe michelin?
I see. You've reverted
No I'm just taking the piss out of you now I couldn't help it with the questions I was asking
How about we sit for a few minutes instead of you spamming this channel?
but I do want to see a mod like this
I'd enjoy it if anything
however
if a new aircraft is to be added to the game; it should have a focus on modern combat, not old-school combat if you ask me
It will have all the capabilities of a modern strike jet, just with older hardware
but there's only mention of old munitions, I want specifics of modern munitions on it
I wouldn't want to use dated weapons it
find me the dimensions on all of those weapons then
so you're the one in charge of how the armament is loaded?
I thought that was atlantis
Atlantis is basing his aircraft off of the real life F-111's capabilities
I am capable of doing research
AGM88E: 417cm
GBU39: ~180cm each *fairly sure the GBU53 and GBU39 use the same rack.
AGM158: 426cm
GBU24: 439cm
GBU28: 580cm
GBU31: 387cm
GBU32: 303cm
GBU12: 327cm
*used the 158 as its the closest irl equivalent to the 161
also I wonder; will it use capsule or ejectionseats?
it'd be cool to have the capsule system
capsule
hmmm, the BRU-61/A was never fitted to the F111... I'll make do
Full load of each
Mk.82 - 50-60
GBU-38 - 50-60
GBU-12 - 28
GBU-39 - 28 racks, or 112 bombs
AGM88E - 24
AGM-158 - 24 (16 technically)
GBU-24 - 24 (17 technically)
GBU-28 - 24 (7 technically)
GBU-31 - 24 (18 technically)
GBU-32 - 28
GBU-12 - 28
Keep in mind that some of these are just guesstimates based on the internal capacity of Atlantis's internal bay, and of the 2-row bomb system
for some of those 24-28 loads, I believe you could fit smaller ordinance behind them if you're lucky
@lost compass
112 bombs of gbu39 and gbu53

fucking hell that's WILD

I am in love.
I think a few of these (GBU-28, I'm looking at you) would snap the wings with the weight lol
We'll leave that to the pilot to find out for himself lol
ok yeah you could only fit 7 GBU-28s on, and that's with like nothing else lol
yes
that's why I want them.
also I think a few of these wouldn't fit using the 3-banger config, so that's more reduction :/
yuh
it's why I made the questions
I want to have realistic expectations for this, so I know if it'd even be fun for someone like me to fly
Okay, the Mk.82 has a diameter of 18 inches
lemme see if I can find the max diameter on the bomb racks the 111 used
so the BRU-3A/A used on the 111 could do a max diameter of 28 inches
Mk.82 - 56 (48 on wings, 8 in int. bay)
GBU-38 - 56 (48 on wings, 8 in int. bay)
GBU-12 - 52 (48 on wings, 4 in int. bay)
GBU-39 - 10 racks, or 48 bombs (8 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
AGM88E - 10 (8 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
AGM-158 - 10 (8 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
GBU-24 - 10 (8 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
GBU-28 - 9 (7 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
GBU-31 - 10 (8 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
GBU-32 - 10 (8 on wings, 2 in int. bay)
@lost compass
updated list
Way more reasonable list
the F-111 could either mount bombs directly or to the BRU-3A/A (6 bomb capacity), so the smaller bombs have crazy loadouts but you can also fit a pretty damn large amount of the bigger stuff on
and this is like, twice what any other VTOL VR plane can do in terms of large munitions
@fiery osprey sorry for the ping but does that look at all right?
Double the internal but yes
But either or that looks correct
I thought you could just barely fit 4 GBU-12s in the internal bay?
or are there two bays?
So what I have is correct now?
Correct, only 4 gbu-12s
But it could fit 8 GBU-38s
what about the other weapons?
AGM-130/GBU-8/GBU-15 all on external pylons
Pretty sure I already outlined that in my pylon post
...I should really just make a document for the loadouts
yeah lol
oh btw @lost compass, the Air Force used Firestone tyres and the Navy used Goodrich tyres for the 111's gear
YEAH BABY
god its so long since I’ve seen firestone dude
and it got around 0.32 miles per gallon

Amazing fuel economy
what colours can I get it in?
Does it come in baby blue?
uhhh, we've got it in white, green camo, or blueish-gray
Why do you have a firestone tyre add
I honestly don't know
I like how I'm doing all this research on the F111 when I know all I'm gonna use is for it touch and goes, formation, and air refueling
lmao
In the meantime, probably wait for a post to come up in the modding server when this gets closer to completion (I model the damn plane)
yeah... maybe we can finally let this post die 🤣
almost 3,500 messages and here we are...
(someone's gonna start an argument and it's gonna shoot up by 400)
Want me to do it?
Just because you started the most fights doesn’t mean I want it to happen again
no no you can pay me 0 dollars and a picture of a cat to make up some nonsensical bullshit that makes zero sense and I will try to gaslight people into thinking its real just for more attention to the post
go attack the "slow missile meta" post lmao
Okay no I can’t do that because I do pvp and I hate the slow missile meta
lmfao
anything else
sure
okokok, the AGM-27 one
Nooooo Ace is a buddy
orang...
I couldn't agree more. Honestly I wish Baha would introduce a CDLC program where competent modding devs could apply to get access to the game's code or an advanced API and can sell the CDLC on steam in return for Baha getting a cut of the profit - just to get these people to sod off.
I would love a Modern F-4. Gimme gimme gimme.
That’s Joe’s thing lol
why is a thread from 2024 still open 😭
lots and lots of arguments
why isn't it closed, i'm sure in one year all that could be said about this topic has probably been said in the span of one year and there's not much to gain from keeping this open
I don't know
I mean, Atlantis is going to be making an F-111 mod based on this post, so ig he might want to give updates on its' progress
Honestly probably should lock up here, gonna need to move to the modding server anyways. Sometime.
You can type whatever you were gonna @sterile mirage
i was gonna say its best to move it to the modding server where all the other plane making goes on
It’s gonna be a WHILE before I do mods anyways, especially if I wanna do this on an F-16 level of fully fledged model
Gonna leave this up and lock the thread in a week. It’s time we gave this post a rest
(Closing soon, poll active) F-111 Style Tactical Bombing/Interdiction Aircraftonoi
(Closing soon, poll active) F-111 Style Tactical Bombing/Interdiction Aircraft
It dont even make sense how people were so against the idea like what
The argument was that it didn't add enough. Which, yes, is a valid argument, but the differences in an aircraft's handling, performance, equipment, the amount of weapons you can put on it, etc, all add to an aircraft's uniqueness (plus sbs seating, which already is super fun in the little bird)
Thats fair
Ive seen people shoot down similar suggestions just because of the fact its a side by side seater aircraft
complaints like i dont want my copilot to be able to mess me up which is just like then dont fly with someone you dont trust?
"I don't want my copilot to be able to mess me up" lmao, this applies to all of the multicrew aircraft anyway
Ive had people lean forward and mess with my controls on the T-55 and AH-94 yet you dont see me complaining about it
that's why I fly in the instructor seat in the 55. Not only can I lock my frontseater's controls, they can't reach me as well
When this initially released over a year ago, it was very much a different-spec’d EF-24. But after a good think, I fleshed the idea out more, and people ended up liking it. At least it’s a good idea in my mind lol.
We’ve reached a milestone, now shush!!!
And vote!!!
bold of you to assume the front seat cant reach over either
With enough will (and space) any seat can do anything 💀
Honestly i just want it cause bomber that has side by side seating
I would love to do that with a friend
But to me even if it did the same roles as other jets more variety is always good
Were in a time where basically every jet is multirole so everything can do anything
exactly, that's the reason why you'll only see strike aircraft, bombers, etc, as mods :/
Yeah
Kinda unfortunate tbh cause i do want more options in general
Although it also doesnt help the main jet you use is outdated as hell and baha has no plans of updating it either so that also is kinda why i want options
yeah unfortunately there aren't many mod creators, it's a miracle we've gotten all of these new mods in such a short period of time... Also unfortunate that you have to use the modloader, and like no one plays modded multiplayer...
It's also why I quite literally block people from joining in my aircraft.
fyi, locking it disables likes and dislikes, and only a mod can unlock it. Learned the hard way with my cold war post lol
It’s got 17 hours left, I’ll decide on what to do with the post then
What poll?

Would y’all like an announcement post now and just wait however many months it’ll be before it gets somewhat ready? Or wait until it gets to the point where I wanna show stuff off and then make an announcement post?

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s officially time (cue the Pixy gif).
It’s been a journey. A hell of one too. Over three thousand messages of support, debate, ideas, and discussions. I thank you all for everything, from helping evolving this aircraft from an F-24 bomber variant to a unique idea of an aircraft. But it’s time to put the idea to rest… for now
I’ll be taking this post and leaving it up, but it will be deciding how to properly close or lock it (whichever would still let people vote). But I’ll be learning to mod with the current tools available. Don’t expect anything for a few (if not several) months, as I want this to be a quality mod. As for updates, as the people (you lovelies) have voted, model comes first. Once that is ready and put into the game, I’ll plan on beginning to work on a closed beta and development post in the modding server when the time is right. This will be an extensive mod. I’ve already decided on weapons, and goodness GRACIOUS have I stepped into something massive. Custom weapons will be abundant in this thing, and no two weapons will operate exactly the same.
Thank you all, for your time, your attention, your opinions, and your ideas. You truly have made this request better. 💙 ✈️
Sincerely,
Atlantis, the idiot who’s gonna mod this piece o’ junk
