Some kind of new aircraft that offers something new to Vtol AND features thrust vectoring for maximum aerobatics and dogfighting prowess.
OR
A thrust vectoring engine module that could be installed in to existing aircraft at the loadout screen. I'm thinking specifically for the T-55 and FA-26.

Amen for the latter, thrust vectoring module would be very cool to see

I'm not sure... how it would be balanced. . . .

#

Like the planes in this game already kinda turn on a dime?

#

Weaker TWR?

#

Like any "dogfight" at low speed would kinda become angry tumbling. Energy is already kinda irrelevant sadly, outside the T-55. Just the nature of the flight characteristics of the airplanes we have

#

Im not saying it wouldnt be cool, but Im not sure it would be fun, nor see much use outside some specific dogfighting missions like guns and heaters, and even there it feels like it would pinch the skill ceiling and floor closer together, rather than expand the skill ceiling

#

Still upvoting, but, tentatively

This would be a ton of fun though

I agree with the balance aspect being tough, but man would it be fun. The engine module option could be something mission editors enable during mission creation, like wind, it could be un-allowed in loadouts by default so it doesn't ruin the current missions that have been created and enabled for missions that would like to feature it.

I too would like to see some thrust vectoring in one or two ways.

The first is introducing the X-31. To balance the insane maneuverability, the plane would have no radar, limited range, and can only be equipped with six heaters of any kind. This will definitely cater to those who play for fun and less for sim. Taking away the radar and range prevents this plane from being abused as it can only serve as a short range response craft.

The second is the F-22. I admit, I'm being 100% biased here, this is my favorite plane. I'll go support another post regarding introducing this plane to the game, but we all know it can thrust vector and I want it. I beleive the X-31 will add the most value to the game.

Perhaps to fit the theme of short range, this dogfight killer could also introduce, to its heater arsenal, medium range heatseeking missiles, and infrared search/track

#

IRST-like “radar” + various range heatseekers and no radar would make for a very very interesting low-flying killer in the mountains

You can use the vtol abilities of the AV42c and F45 as a form of thrust vectoring. Turning your engines to 45 or even a full 90 degrees will vastly increase your turn rate.

Thrust vectoring we already have in the 45, and if you want to pull some funny moves in the 26B or 55, just turn off your master flight assist.

Don't forget the 42!

I’m mixed on this, I don’t like the idea of the older designs to be further strengthened by adding TVC to them
