I don’t currently have video (I’ll put some here later) but for whatever reason I cannot click the grey x in the quick menu (the one that opens up when you click both buttons and grips) but I can click anything else there like save, recenter, etc.

the only way to undo the quick menu button is to grab on to something

I'm pretty sure it's a button for me. How else are you going to close the menu when you decided you don't want to recenter or save?

It does not for me, I have to press the middle "x"

Maybe those are different control schemes depending on the controller?

ditto this, i dont think its a bug, but its still pretty terrible UX

Certainly looks like a bug from here, there's an "X" button that has never ever worked for me. I close the menu either by gripping something (joystick/throttle/collective/ejection handles, switches) or pressing a button.

It actually and definitely is a button for me.

I do press in the thumbstick there's a growing grey circle and when it hits the edge, that menu closes. If I don't do that, the menu stays up.

Yeah, it's a grey growing circle on a grey background, easy to miss.
