In recent, low level flights, multiple people have had near misses with the above weapons despite being well within HUD constraints, lined up, etc. AGM-65s were more reliable but I still had one miss 50m beyond target with no effect despite a good lineup and shooting from 8+ miles away. It seemed most egregious with the GBU-38 JDAM bombs, which missed almost every time.
#T-55 guided weapons (GBU-38, AGM-65, ARMs) missing

This might be related?
I don't recall them being this bad before the update IIRC that one was fixed and was due to some sort of transsonic drag not being corrected for the GBU-38 at the time
I'm thinking aero changes might have caused this new one similarly, though
no clue. That post never got closed so I was assuming it was still a thing.
Were the near misses both from the pilot and instructor seats? Or just one seat?
All were from dual piloted aircraft
Unsure for the CCRP but the agm-65 and GBU-38 misses were fired from the instructor seat
mmm weird
AGM-65 miss was locked onto infantry (maybe terrain?), it hit larger land and sea targets fine
@ripe oak stop posting bug reports without player logs
Although, some of these need videos more than logs
There's nothing of value for these bugs in logs so that's why I didn't bother
I'll record next time I play
If you can reproduce it, post a video.
If you can't reproduce it, then it might not deserve a bug report yet
Now is not the time to post small potentially unreproducible bugs
I'll go reproduce this one after I charge
Was going to check if there was another post about this bug but with my friend our Mavericks worked fine, however our gbu 12's and 38's would miss
(1) My friend and I (I was in the front seat, friend was in the back seat) were flying the T-55 doing the multiplayer Defend the Coastline mission and we had a similar problem. We went after the road blockade first. Note, I was in charge of weapon release, he was in charge of slaving the tgp onto the targets, the weapon was a GBU-12. He focused the tgp on one of the bunkers. I got hud symbology showing I was in range of the target for weapons release. I released the GBU 12, and initiated a clearing turn to not have the centerline tank mask the tgp line of sight to the target. The weapon, even though the target was constantly being lased by the tgp, missed the target by a long shot, seemingly following its own inertia, rather than even attempting to guide. We then used our AGM-65 to destroy the MAD-4 radar sight. We did the same process as before, this time the Maverick guided and destroyed its target. We went back and kept trying unsuccessfully to hit one of the barricaded targets with our GBU 12's, none hit. We went back and rearmed with the GBU-12's replaced by GBU-38's. This time flying to the target, my friend, designated both bunkers as target waypoints using the tgp. I then flew within weapon's range and released the bombs, 1 bomb for each of the 2 target waypoints (1 waypoint on each bunker). I conducted a clearing turn to the right just out of habit, both bombs still missed. We deleted the target waypoints and redesignated them. My theory was that it could be something to do with the clearing turn, so this time I wasnt going to conduct one. We flew into weapon release, released 1 bomb per bunker, then I didnt touch the controls and flew in a straight line. The 2 bombs still missed. We noticed that sometimes the bombs wouldn't even follow their trajectory they had at weapon release, and sometimes they would fly off in a different bearing than the target. We had 2 more GBU-38's left and we decided to use them as dumb bombs.
Holding Shift and pressing Enter will put line breaks into text btw
I know, it's just me recalling the events, I'm not gonna separate the paragraphs, im just gonna type
(2) I set them as dumb bombs on the equip page, flew over the target and rolled in, it was a beautiful pass, pipper perfectly lined up horizontally with the target, now just letting it climb over the target and bam, weapons release. I pull up and dont roll over to watch the impact, I instead watched the tgp page up to watch. I witnessed the most beautiful CCIP weapon release Ive ever had in my vtol vr career. And I watched it fall short about 20-40 meters on the target. Now I was really confused. Still had one more bomb, this time I was going to do the same approach, but adjust my weapon release point to account for the bomb missing. I do the same thing, roll in, line up, release, and this time watched the bomb miss by a margin of 100 meters over the target... I cant theorize any problems with what could be causing it...
Ill get my friend in here to add his log when he gets back from eating
I just did some testing. It seems like low level GBU-38s don't have enough control authority to hit the target unless they're dropped in the dead center of the small circle.(TBH seems pretty realistic, but there's no good indication that you must put it there now to hit) Higher altitude drops are still accurate even at the far edge of the large circle. I dunno if they had this issue before? I don't recall ever missing a GBU shot by as much as they can miss now
CCRP and mavericks were still accurate even at high speed and low level. This was all solo aircraft in an MP server
I haven't got to this yet, but just a note: I didn't change anything on the GBU-38's or 12s, and they're literally the same assets as the other planes. The tighter requirements at low level are why the inner circle shrinks, but I agree its not clear that it should only be dropped within the inner circle in those situations.
I tried it with the 26 and the 55 just to see if there was a difference. I tried to drop it at the same point in the outer circle and they both hit.
It seems with the inner circle really isn't an accurate representation of the actual capabilities of the bombs which is why it isn't clear you should be dropping in there. Because we are able to drop bombs with the indicator outside of that circle and still have them hit
Though depending on the situation it varies how far into the outer circle you're able to push it
I had all ARAMs miss in the T-55 trainer mission even when fired with launch authority
Me and my buddy are having the same issue with ordinance not hitting on the T-55 missions as well. On the SEAD mission we resorted to guns and dumb bombs because the ARMs will just begin spiraling down towards the ground and 180 degrees away from the target, Optical missiles will fly toward the target, and then will gently turn and sail over the mountain SAM platforms. They seem to have more success on the SAM on the road near the bridge though.
I was able to do the SEAD mission just fine with just full load outs of 126's. Do you think it'd be possible to get a clip of those? I can test it the 65's myself but I have no clue where to begin with the ARMS behaving like that
sure. ive never recorded VR, is there an ideal way
GeForce Experience Overlay, or OBS.
Or maybe the Windows Game Bar. Never used that one myself though.
alright, ill try OBS then
So i'm thinking it may be a multiplayer sync issue. When I'm flying with my WSO most of our weapons would miss the target. This was also true in the practice range with optical weapons and bombs hitting tens of meters in front or behind the target. We tried the SEAD run a few times and would run out of ARMs or get shot down. I switched to WSO and they did the same thing for me. Just now I did a singleplayer run, used the weapons the exact same way I did before and they all hit. 🤔
I'll try to record a MP clip of us later when he's on
That'd be super interesting to find out if it was some sync thing
thankfully its real quick to get to in the mission and not 5 steps in
Ok, I have a clip of what its doing now. This was with a different player, but it did the same thing. This shot would have been a kill in SP.
That ending lmao.
But yea, that's such an interesting bug. Thanks for taking the time to record it! I'm sure it'll be super helpful.
Could you drop your player log here as well? @grim echo

We played a bit after so I'm not sure if its the same log but I'll give you both
he tried so hard
This one looks specific to ARMs since it seems like it's getting a different wonky target position every time it gets a radar ping
I'll look into it. probably related to this one

Yes. Its only present if theres a second player in the T55. Theres issues with the other guided systems as well, this is just one example
Thanks for the logs and video
Fixed the ARM bug for 1.6.4
@pulsar mountain do you need me to post video of the other issues or you have it from here
I would love to see it if you have it just for curiosities sake
i wasnt recording originally when it happened because i just assumed it was a skill issue on our part. Its pretty much the same thing though, even on practice range. Optical will sail towards the target and then detonate a few meters away with the target undamaged. Ill have OBS on next time tho
I've found and fixed the issue for GBU-12 and GBU-38
And AGM-65
for the GBUs it was specifically the x2 and x3 racks when fired by the non-vehicle-owner (no crown)
and for the AGM-65 it was if a unit was locked and fired on by non-owner
interesting. Was the ARM the same way?
ARM had an issue where pings being received by the host aircraft were being sent to the missile which was interfering with its own calculations based on pings from its onboard antenna, and also for sidearm x2,x3 and HARM, the target data wasn't being synced when launched by copilot
