My favorite game is "CE: the Cave" because of its puzzles, lore revelations and overall mystic vibes! I love Rusty Lake because it' s able to tell a very intriguing story in its own misterious way while giving food for your thoughts as well when "interning" them, the games make really think about the topics of memories, fate and purpose both in their universe and in our own, and i' m grateful for that.

Gotta say,my most favorite is definitely The Past within:
After all,it’s mechanic and storytelling are most unique,especially opportunity to play as Roses,both in past and future.
The how out of most games,It has unique moment of switching between 2d Room and 3d Cubical device,making all gameplay mirroring for both sides.
Besides all hard work the team put into gameplay,the story itself is quite intriguing,generous enough to add depth of Rose’s and Albert’s character,while also leaving just enough space for theories and interpretation

My favorite part were definitely Albert’s letters for his daughter

My favorite moment was with Paradox - first game of the Rusty Lake franchise that I played - and I suddenly saw blood here and there throughout the game. I've played different type of escape room games, but this was so unexpected! I quickly discovered that there was an actual deep lore throughout the game and I was so intrigued and tried to play all the games asap and did all the research I could on the lore.
This is truly the best game series created and you can truly call yourself honoured to be at such an amazing theme!!🫶🏻

My all time favorite in the Rusty Lake universe is Case 23. I discovered these games in middle school, and have been playing for almost ten years now. I vividly remember the fear I felt in the last part of Case 23. It was super impactful and so fun to figure out.

I recently discovered the ties between Rusty Lake and the show Twin Peaks. I’ve been replaying the games with the show in mind and the games do such a good job honoring the show and David Lynch!

I found the lake games when they were still being published onto a flash game site, and they immediately became my favourite ongoing narrative because they clearly had an interesting story to tell.

My favourite is Paradox, because I love the added movie and getting to see a live action version of the wild surreal game, and I just really enjoyed the puzzles, challenging yet not at all nonsensical, I think it’s a perfect representation of how fantastic the Rusty Lake team are at building compelling puzzles that work seamlessly to tell their story

Honestly my fav Rusty Lake moment is in Roots where the whole family tree unfolding little by little feels so eerie and satisfying at the same time. It has that same mix of calm + unsettling vibes I love in indie games (like LiS or Termina). Rusty Lake always stays stuck in my head in the best way.

Hi @restive field and welcome to the lake!! My favorite game is Cube Escape Theatre because it is the game that introduced me to this wonderful company and community. I have loved Rusty Lake since seventh grade and I am a senior in college now. My sister even made me a "Rusty Lake Cigars" box as a Christmas gift (I personally think she should have submitted it for Laketober because it was so good). This summer I was able to meet the wonderful devs during my trip to Amsterdam and they couldn't have been any nicer. I will forever cherish that experience. I hope you love Rusty Lake as much as the rest of us 🙂

Hi @restive field - My first Rusty Lake game was Theatre. It was so surrealist and unique I immediately fell in love and began playing all the others one by one. When I played the second game (Case 23) I noticed the art and characters were being reused - I thought "meh. same company. makes sense to make the most of what you have." I'm embarrased to say that I didn't realize they were all one interconnected story until the 4th game I had downloaded! It was an exciting revelation and I've played ALL of them to date. After getting a taste of 'Servant of the Lake" I'm excited for the coming Spring 2026!

The type of logic puzzle is one of my favorites. I love having the cards as a rare glimpse of insight into the characters personality. The chilling reveal of Albert being in love with his brothers wife. And, of course, the moment my tied for favorite character gets his iconic and spooky Skull mask!

If i may briefly add to the discussion, i think its worth noting 2 things when it comes to the characters in Roots:

1. We only see the times that William was present for, so unless we get more info on the vanderbooms, a lot of their lives outside of the scope of the game is totally up to interpretation (which is cool)
2. Regarding the triplets specifically, i want to just note how the death of a parent for a young can and will haunt you for a very long time, and could act as a factor in certain actions

So i suppose add 1 more sin onto james' tally for leaving his wife alone to raise 3 kids + traumatising said kids
