Hi,
I am currently a CS Junior, but graduating this fall from a decent university. I got into CG just last summer when I wanted to start Game Dev and loved it ever since. I realized though later on that I like CG but I think I want to work in other industries besides games, specifically the space industry.

Do y’all have any recommendations on how to find and prepare for graphics programming jobs in the space industry, and if there specific resources you recommend?

The graphics stuff used in the space industry would make you cry probably

#

The software I ran on took input from c array string buffers that contained punch card formatted input data

#

So you'd snprintf your parameters into the string buffer and hand it off to this ancient program to run

#

Anyways you'll probably want to invest in some other skills that are applicable to space stuff, there aren't that many graphics jobs in general or in space development so it would probably be just one of your duties

Are there other industries besides games where it’s also used? Considering how the games industry is rn, I feel like I should look at multiple industries

It's used all over but it's not really a monolithic job ecosystem that has a consistent market for workers and positions

#

In many cases it's sort of a random task that someone will do as part of their job but not all of it
