ah. It's currently halted so not much to see there anyways (and private) as I was doing some UI investigations but got sidetracked again by doing my ocean system lol
tbf. it is actually going okay right now
not switching away from the ocean/engine project
dont lie to yourself
once I got ocean I need terrain anyways
because I need to do coastal interactions
where is the ocean project thread though
released on my blog as soon as it's "done"
for some definition of done
no excuses
I am effectively rewriting my paper on it but with some additions on top as well as making it easier to read
people dont want to read blogs, they want to see screenshots, and bikeshed your every decision here and there
I'm going to get some enemies by doing so, cough, people that sell ocean simulations on unreal for waaaay too much
do people really want to bikeshed the oceanographic theory and mathematics that go behind that
a blog is written once
A blog does not mean I can't do a thread for the post once it is done
it gets under with all the noise left and right
just dumping a link into a thread is not what its supposed to be
and dont get me wrong, i dont tell you what you need to do
Nah it's dumping a link with screenshots and some short explanation
ofc. implementation can be bikeshedded a lot
but that's a fine line between bikeshedding the implementaiton of the ocean system itself and bikeshedding my luigi (tm) engine
ah ok
Also a blogpost is much easier to share as a resource than a discord thread
After all it's supposed to teach you how to implement your own ocean rendering as well
ofc
#1120311055193743490 here you go
We should have a channel to talk about terrain and world gen so we don't all hijack Implodes thread :p
