That mod manager was a temp thing till Andrew added plugins to the workshop

neat ivy
#

ture,, however

left fable
#

Also, why is this gonna be significantly worse?

neat ivy
#

because i'm shit at programming

#

(it doesnt really mean anything i just needed to title this post something other than "mod manager")

neat ivy
left fable
#

@neat ivy if you send me the max out plugin I can add it to the mod manager

I stole that from the bepinex pack

neat ivy
#

!! i gnome

left fable
neat ivy
#

i haven't implemented them yet (literally just a ui with no functions behind it) but the remove button will let you uninstall a mod and the add button will let you add a mod

left fable
#

so like the checkbox?

neat ivy
#

sorta

#

i'm gonna use the checkbox to move the mod to a "disabled" folder, where it doesn't get picked up but is still stored and can be re-enabled at a moments notice

left fable
#

I just redownload them lol

neat ivy
#

fair lol

#

i just figure in the case that we end up with mods that are larger than a few mb, a way to temporarily disable would probably be helpful

left fable
#

that can be provided by the modder in game

neat ivy
#

eehh

left fable
#

k8lib gives you an easy way to do that

neat ivy
#

ee hh

left fable

what?

neat ivy

untold torrent

Do i use both mod manage r

neat ivy
#

i wouldn't in case they conflict in a weird way which they probably will

#

but this one isnt coming out for ages so i wouldnt worry about it

left fable
neat ivy
#

by the time this one is out we'll probably already have workshop plugins lmao

Who cares about conflicting mods

# neat ivy why i'm doing this: - linux support oowweeeooo (aldin one doesn't work through w...

Was working on getting the workshop plugin installer working on deck and decided why not check the mod manager

I will not take this slader

It works for the most part, visual styles don't work, the settings menu is completely broken (and if you change a setting you have to delete the proton files to fix it), the background is black (glow still works though).

But you can install mods with it, and it can even find your game folder automatically even though steam is installed on the Z drive according to it. (More of a testament to how good proton is but I'll still take this W. Kinda surprised that works to be honest, the mod manager checks the windows registry for your steam install location then digs through the library folders config. I'm shocked that the steam install location is actually set in the proton windows registry.)

But yeah, setting up BepInEx is harder than setting up the mod manager on deck

neat ivy
#

ok

left fable
#

Kinda hurts to be honest

neat ivy
#

not really sure what's going on here

left fable
#

Mod manager (mine) running on linux

#

You said it didn't

#

And it does

neat ivy
#

yeah, 9 months ago

left fable
#

Still not going to let you slander me

neat ivy
#

should have tested it 9 months ago

left fable
#

Wasn't convenient

neat ivy
#

it also doesn't work on my machine still

left fable
#

Proton?

neat ivy
#

i don't use proton for applications outside of steam, it's bad practice generally

left fable
#

Proton is better though

neat ivy
#

better for steam games

left fable
#

Also this relies on steam being installed in the environment

#

Proton does that for free

left fable
neat ivy
#

proton struggles with video and audio codecs, so it's not good for DAWs or video editors for one

left fable
#

Might be why the backgrounds don't work

neat ivy
#

no, they also don't work in wine

left fable
#

You got it running?

neat ivy
#

in wine, yes. but the path auto-detect doesn't work, which is expected

left fable
#

Works in proton

neat ivy
#

i will admit that it DOES work in proton

#

but either way, my mod manager has never been usable and never will be

left fable
#

You mod manager could have something mine will never

#

A startup time that doesn't suck

neat ivy
#

i could write a mod manager

#

or i could have fun doing something else

left fable
#

like what? Go to the Diddy party?

neat ivy
#
  • create weapon mods (something i generally enjoy doing)
  • actually play the damn game
left fable
#
  1. Can you please finish one?
  2. Rather go to a Diddy party this game smells tro
neat ivy
#

yeah i'm working on the antique rifle

#

silly

left fable
#

Please finish ๐Ÿ™
