Do mod tools allow custom ammo counters like this? I feel like for it to work you'll have to make 10 different firing animations where it changes from 10 to 0

could modded weapons technically have scriptorium entries? I would imagine so, wouldnt be too hard of a link and it would be basically just writing plaintext and then adding a new entry so it doesnt sound hard at all

You can spawn custom objects with animation events, so its probably possible

Make whatever object you want, give it a spawn point, and spawn it through the animation events
I think it's literally just called "Spawn Object"
And, if the ProjectileInstantiator is part of the mod tools, you can even have it spawn in a projectile

yeah nah the shader is controlled pretty much exclusively by the script
yeah, I don't think you would need to, but I don't know how your shader is set up
I parented the ammo counter to a bone
i didn't know at the time that I could directly animate the emissive brightness of the shader with the animator object
the vertex shader pans the UVs across a 5x5 grid to select the correct number
you can control the value in the shader properties, right?

you don't need bepinex
it's not a plugin
it's just a managed dll
all you have to do is...
compile your script into it's own dll
use an assembly def to tell unity where the script is
rebuild your bundle
put that dll into the managed folder
if you reference anything in your script that is not normal unity engine functions you will need to include that dll in your project and add it to the reference list (both in your csproj and asm def in unity)
