I saw someone say that roleplaying is strictly prohibited and will result in users being muted as it is deemed disruptive. They claimed that has happened many times but is that true or did they just not like people roleplaying? It's important to note that the roleplaying that was taking place was just two people talking as characters and not acting things out in text with asterisks or anything- just talking.

For clarity it was a very short back and forth while there wasn't a lot going on. The only other thing happening in the chat was alliance advertising and the people advertising didn't take issue with it. It was just one guy who seemed like he just didn't like people talking in character so I wanted to check if there is a genuine rule against it, I looked and one of the other people looked and couldn't find anything that said it was prohibited, so I just wanted to check because honestly it seemed like fun between two transformers fans and if it's allowed I'd honestly like to muck about too like that! Decepticons

Rules are clear. Roleplaying isn't talking about TFEW or Transformers universe in general. Roleplay in DMs. All you had to do was check #┊📜・rules instead of making a rant in a place for asking questions

I wouldn't say that roleplaying is banned, but I think we just expect common sense, you know? Don't be creepy, don't say/do things that others haven't consented to or have told you they're comfortable with. As long as things are harmless and fun, we really don't mind! But if you see anyone being a bit too weird, then I'd take screenshots and inform us about it 😊

Will do. Nobody was being weird or anything they were just talking in character and someone said that roleplaying in the global chat was against the rules and would result in the loss of the ability to talk there. They claimed to have seen it hundreds of times LMAO!

Problem is there are certain, old school players that bully the new players, say they are reporting them and the like, now I get the global is hard work most of the time at best, and at its worst a total cluster, but for let’s say younger players it’s very disconcerting to say the least

That's exactly what was happening. This dude had a level 18 base and bragged about how long he'd been playing to shut them up. There was on guy in chat who told them not to worry because the older player keeps getting involved in drama

It’s tough, I’ve been tempted to speak out, but decided against it, because I can see how annoying global can be, but calling people tinycons etc is a bit uncalled for, and specifically saying they are speaking directly to space ape employees and screen recording is not cool

Just for clarification I have no problem with the person/people as I know how to talk to them, deal with stuff like it on a daily basis but others may/do not

Honestly, I really want to get on top of that and start moderating the global chat a bit more. So if people are being rude or are bullying new players, please do take screenshots right away and send them my way. I take stuff like this very seriously and will want to make sure that people aren't being mistreated or lied to for not knowing any better.

The other day one guy was dropping slurs and a bunch of us reported him, I think he was dealt with at least this way we can be sure that a person has seen it.

I think generally it’s decent, for the most part, obviously you have a lot of trolls etc but what game doesn’t, heck I like the odd banter, and personally I’ve had no hassle, get ignored when I’m trying to talk to some people but that’s fair, nobody ever has to respond

The community is wholesome as hell, especially the Earth Wars community. I regret not having interacted with people sooner and honestly feel kinda stupid for it taking this long for me to use the Global Chat. I started playing this game in Primary 6 and now I am a few months away from adulthood.

I've barely spoken and yet I feel very attached.

So when I do see people, the minority, trying to pick fights or upset others it really makes me feel bad. New players get the wrong ideas and not everyone is happy which isn't ideal.

Are there specific behaviours I should report besides the very obvious ones?

@broken trail can we at least get a new "report spam" for those new players who seem to want to set posting records to draw attention to themselves? Otherwise, consider an ability to remove oneself permanently from global. I hate the spammers and role-playing and if you don't want to hinder either, or increase the HQ required to post, I don't want to see it or interact with global. I don't want to stop helping new players, but I will to avoid the above.

Can't help the new players who genuinely are trying to learn using that method. The big problem is these players are outnumbered 3/4 to 1 by the above-mentioned "do whatever I want, nobody can stop me" kids who likely won't even be here in 3 months and cry bully when suggested to do otherwise.

I've seen people who have tried helping them in character so don't worry there are plenty of people to help them.
